New 2024 Suzuki Vitara - Hybrid Subcompact Crossover SUV Mild Facelift

Suzuki has unveiled the latest iteration of its Vitara model for the European market, showcasing a refreshed exterior design and enhanced technology features, alongside incremental upgrades to its safety offerings for the subcompact SUV. While no significant changes have been made to its mechanical components, the new Vitara continues to offer hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrain options carried over from its predecessor.
The most prominent updates are observed at the front fascia, where slimmer daytime running lights and a redesigned grille characterize the refreshed look. Complementing these changes is a revised front bumper with distinctive C-shaped indents housing fog lights, along with a sleek black lower section. Additionally, Suzuki has introduced fresh alloy wheel designs and expanded the range of exterior color choices, including a striking two-tone Sphere Blue Pearl with a contrasting Cosmic Black Pearl Metallic roof, and a sophisticated single-tone Titan Dark Grey Pearl Metallic option.
Interior revisions are subtle, with the introduction of a new nine-inch central touchscreen boasting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Suzuki's proprietary smartphone app has also been integrated into the new Vitara, allowing drivers to remotely monitor the vehicle's status, location, trip history, warning lights, and maintenance updates.
In response to evolving safety standards, the Vitara has been equipped with five new safety features as part of the facelift to maintain its competitiveness in the market. Notable additions include a dual-sensor automated brake assist system with extended range, a driver-monitoring camera within the instrument cluster to detect signs of tiredness or distraction, adaptive cruise control with lane keep assist, and traffic sign recognition software.
European consumers can opt for either a mild-hybrid or "strong hybrid" powertrain, available with front- or all-wheel drive configurations. The entry-level model features a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 95kW of power and 235Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Alternatively, there's the option of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid generating 75kW and 138Nm, coupled with a 24.6kW/60Nm electric motor, a 140V lithium-ion battery, and a six-speed automated manual transmission.
Both powertrain variants offer the choice of equipping Suzuki's ALLGRIP all-wheel drive system, featuring four driving modes: Auto, Sport, Snow, and Lock.
