- Bruce Dickinson split the summer by singing for Iron Maiden and flying for Iceland Express on the 'Ed Force One,' Maiden's jet. I got to talk (and fly) with him. And drink coffee with him. Dickinson shares it all: flying, heavy metal, travel, dealing with jet lag. Flight to I(carus)celand!

I did not meet him, but flew in the Iron Maiden plane from Iceland to Copenhagen in May. I thought at the time that I was possibly flying on an old tour plane since it is a discount airline...I had NO idea the story behind it until I read this article. So cool
just imagine, sitting in an airplane. just like I do when I'm in an airplane. Listen to metal, wearing my Iron Maiden t-shirt. Pilot walks up to me, says: Awesome shirt. FLIP OUT and as for a signature or something!

Love seeing all the Maiden love here. Thanks everyone for watching. Must say hanging around with Bruce for a while -- flying with the 'fly to live' king -- was an all-timer. Guy is all class, super down-to-earth. MUCH MORE to the experience than can be crammed into a three-minute video.

this interview embodies everything i've admired about him as a human being and musician. he's a humble man. never once forgetting that he is human. and right to the end, he's still asking if he can be of service..
This legend was there at the end of my tour. unfortuntely his aircraft went U/S but he flew us back in another aircraft. He was totally pilot mode and non condescending. He was there for us. I really thank him for his work and of course his music . but this person really brings himself to showing he is human. had a great time but he knows exactly where his feet are...

Bruce Dickinson is one of the most friendly and great guys. I have just always admired what a normal, down-to-earth guy Bruce is. And he wrote the lyrics to Revelations...one of the best Maiden tunes ever. It's a great look into the the wonderful artisitc mind of this great 'air raid siren' they call Bruce Dickinson.

I went on one of the early Flight 666's to Iceland in 2005 and i gotta say Bruce is one of the coolest guys i have ever met...He hung out with us for ages chatting and taking pics and signing stuff....Total legend is Bruce!!...Wish i could say the same about Adrian...

I have so much respect for this man. I've been listening to Maiden for over 20 years and they remain, by far, my all-time favorite Metal Band. That isn't to say that I haven't found other bands to support with my dollar votes (Amon Amarth, for one)...but Maiden is near and dear to my heart. I encourage any Maiden fan who hasn't, watch the "History of Iron Maiden" someone posted here on youtube...great documentary filled with facts that you may or may not know!

Reminds me of a train trip I took back in 1988/may 14 from Moncton to Halifax. Bruce was on the train, it was the beginning of the 7th Son tour & he was by himself. I sat and chatted for a while, but he said he likes to avoid using his voice even to talk on show days. I let him hear some of the Moncton bootleg I made as well. Still remember a lot of the chat we had-good memories. Can't wait to see him again in Van. 7/29!!!
