Have just come across your channel, great videos Chris. I have a 365 Komatsu hybrid Im currently working a contract in a quarry I'm based in England. have been operating for 12 years now. Think I may start recording some footage as I find my days being spent watching people like yourself, I love to see fellow operators across the globe. Keep up the good work brother.
Chris, Just my opinion. The more the camera is in the cab the better the video. I have watched lots of equipment while others operate it. From the outside. It's inside view I don't normally get to see. If you agree, thumb up! Thanks for the videos! I watch them all! Respectfully, Kevin
Don Hanson that topsoil packs hard as a rock, my point is that u have too keep it loosen up till the grass starts growing in it and then you’ve got something then.
@@timmyfrierson2684 it looks almost exactly like the topsoil from the cornbelt, Where I grew up. If he put a couple of loads spread out on his pasture land and ran a disc to incorporate some of his sandy soil into it. It should stay a fluffy deep rich soil.
This brought to mind your use of mud mats. I'm guessing they could be useful for your haul truck over muddy ground. The old Marston mats that were used for airfields in WWII would be handy but I'm guessing they would be expensive now. Many were reclaimed, melted for new steel, or rusted out, I'm sure.
Aloha Chris... just wanted to say the hiyachi & your yanmar and even your other pieces @ home have been such a great help in getting a wide variety of jobs & work done. I \f you didn't have these pieces, would you be doing those jobs or would the company/Uncle have to pony up??? they've become integril in accomplishing sooooo many projects... very smart purchases......
Hey Chris great video brother but I just wanted to say something to you you need to keep that Hitachi because listening to that motor running that thing runs like a sewing machine all your pins and bushings is real tight in it so that’s a keeper but my point is you might as well get off some that money and go ahead and put a paint job on it, lol. But it be in a 20 ton machine that’s just an all-around machine to do just about anything weird to me that is one of your best machines that you bought on your own I would definitely keep it keep the videos coming brother and you have a great and blessed day
I think your bucket needs a few more shims, it appears to be somewhat loose - if its not the bearing surfaces themself being shot out you should better fix it before it starts beating itself to death thanks to the wiggle room giving itself space to work itself down its pretty nice that you fixed that excavator up for good - hopefully it holds up a long time
@@jamesrobinson1022 Ok, good that its nothing work intense In that case he should strap a belt round the stick and thumb - or spend 350 bucks and upgrade it to hydraulic
Try closer to 10,000 grand is what he said on earlier video and on side job machine he rarely uses on the weekends. He paid 10,000 for the machine alone and threw a few extra grand to get up to par.

If you loosen up that bucket a little. Dirt Perfect might buy it from you. He may even trade you for his Volvo. The bucket pin on the Volvo is a little to tight for Mike. Lol God bless
That's probably as fine a quality of topsoil as I've ever seen you move, sometimes it seems more like sand or subsoil. What is the 'triangular' section at the front of the tipper body, looks like it'd be a real sod to tip some sticky clay?
I looked at a Hitachi 220 today. I think it is a 2006. it had a little over 2500 hours. they are asking $100k. Is that close to the going rate for an excavator that size?
Hi Chris, great video as always! Question: Is the dirt pile, which you’re digging from, leftover from previous jobs, and/or how did you get it? It just seems like that dirt pile is a bit more bedraggled compared to the other piles of material there. Just curious 🕵🏻♀️
Cat and CJ, the source of the dirt is the saw mill that his friend runs and where he takes his logs. They probably scrapped the topsoil off the log yard years ago so that they could pack down a firm base to stack and store logs. In a small mill like that one, you often store logs until you get enough of a type to do a run. They don’t have a use for it so it’s probably a good bit of found money for them. The home owner obviously needed some topsoil so it’s a win win for everyone.
Sawdust can be treated to break the lignin / cellulose bond and then used as an excellent cattle feed. Not sure how, but some Google searches might give specifics. I remember something about a bit of acid, then heating it.
Sombitch .🤔 you guys do have topsoil and it's dark . No shit. watched almost all your vids chris and I really don't think iv seen such nice dirt . It's almost perfect dirt .🤔😁

Great video Chris! That's going to look very nice when you're finished and it's seeded!
Nice vid, dirt looks good! Thanks for posting !

Eddy Edwards Agreed! Makes it better. I also, try to figure out where the next scoop is going to be taken!
Great video good looking topsoil enjoyed watching
That's so awesome! I love working in black dirt - plenty of it back where I'm from in Central Missouri!
Yep, perfect for my wife's garden.
You should get a couple loads of that topsoil for your pasture. It will grow grass like no tomorrow.

Good looking dirt.....thanks for posting
Looks like the Hitachi that I operated last time back in my former company.Greetings from Malaysia. From your big Fan.
Ratchet strap around the stick will fix that thumb!
It will fit in with the 'Farm Machine' look too.
Yeh that's what it's going to get

That's the mechanical thumb you are hearing. It doesn't lock down fully for him. The bucket is perfectly shimmed and greased.

Prinz Eugen van Sovoyen I guess you didn’t notice that this machine isn’t plumbed for a hydraulic thumb.
Ah, now I recognise the place. You did the road and the clearing awhile ago.
Though i recognized the driveway aswell glad i wasn't the only one
I can't believe the dirt they allow on UA-cam these days! Watching your videos is like being a kid again!
You can't neglect a real machine like besty cuz she is still alive and working when you want her to
Like the video and the truck to .

Was that nice soil a courtesy of the saw mill guys ?? Or you had to buy it ?
Have you ever thought about opening a small site for all the material you dig out? Cleaning it and separating it and what not?
Man, you always gettin after it ain't ya !! lololol.... Great as always Chris , Have a Great Evening !!

Time to paint the Hitachi like you did for your Link Belt
Jack Johnson yea I told him the same thing, because it’s definitely a keeper, that’s a good tight machine.
Is that actually decomposed, completely broke down, saw dust from the saw mill.
Ooo ooo look black soil it's not orange - makes a change.
Do you like your Volvo's better or your 200LC Hitachi?
Run that stuff through a screen deck and you got the best topsoil you can have
How big is the bucket? Trying to figure out how many yards the truck holds. Thank you.
Truck around 12 yards
Are you going to make a video of spreading the dirt?
That looks like pretty dang good dirt. Of course the camera hides some of it
Nice work!
Hey mate that Volvo 30t that u had a few months back, did you ever find out why it was so slow?
Git R Done!!! Great sharp video!!!
Ive noticed with alot of your videos that you are slewing a full 180 to load trucks and dumpers ? is it just a bad habbit ?
I try to to 45-90 but it was so wet I couldn't get the truck closer

If thats USD probably on the high side for the age, would want to make sure it’s genuine hours too
@@NZDIRT ok, thank you for the information. if it is original hours what would a good offer be on the machine? 50K?
Way to much price. , someone should stick a laptop on the ecm. To check the real hours. , seams like fishy hours
@@toddreynolds8875 I am just guessing the year. it could be newer. great idea Todd!
Todd- I was looking them up online, they had 7k hours for 42k so I will have to get all the info, make an offer.
Is this the first time you loaded your dump truck with the Hitachi?
So now that Volvo has pulled out of Conexpo does that mean that you're gonna slide over to the Caterpillar booth with Jpaydirt? ;-)
Where is all this dirt going?
That dirt wood do a garden good
What size is your Hitachi.I ran a 270 for 5 years building bush roads.
200
200
Video starts at 7:30
Is that at the sawmill?
Yes
I was wondering how long you would be able to listen to that
If i would have tried getting rid of that rock with. A full bucket of dirt i would have probably dumped out everything. Lol!!
Where are you from
What is the most interesting or unexpected item you have dug up ?
Do You own this saw mill to Chris? I know you Gail your logs there and other work?

Chris, you need to come up with a purpose for Zach's sawdust pile, then you can ship & sell it, rather than just dozing it into the woods.
Sawdust can be treated to break the lignin / cellulose bond and then used as an excellent cattle feed. Not sure how, but some Google searches might give specifics. I remember something about a bit of acid, then heating it.
Figured you done swapped that thumb over to hydraulic by now
He hasn't justified the need to spend 10,000 on a side job machine
I thought you got rid of the ole Hitachi
that dry pin is screaming " GREASE ME " it hurts my ears lol
The turntable on that is really fast
Damn close captions?
The Hitachi sounds like a sick goat...
It has over 8000 hrs and is side job machine what do expect.
Sombitch .🤔 you guys do have topsoil and it's dark . No shit. watched almost all your vids chris and I really don't think iv seen such nice dirt . It's almost perfect dirt .🤔😁
Holly crap that machine is quiet as shit!!!!?????
good video
Your bucket is very noisy and squeaky maybe it all needs to be regreased at the grease points
Old Betsy moans a bit a full stretch, does she need some more TLC and special oils?
hes at the saw mill
I like tong buckts
Your bucket pin needs a little lub.
