This world has a way of making us feel unwanted, defective, and the things we do aren’t appreciated. I’ve lived lost of my life in my head, trying to reason with myself between the highs and lows. I’m at a loss at times… trying to understand how on one day I feel like I’m strong and have so much to offer… and then… On Friday, I feel worthless and the darkness engulfs my mind…… doubt sets in… anxieties and defenses keep me on edge… ready for battle or to run like hell… old scars feel like open wounds… There is so much more negatives to deal with, and everyone has their own bag of demons they carry. We all have different levels of pain and darkness. It’s horrible when you feel like such a piece of s&&t that you don’t even look in the mirror. Sometimes it only last on Sunday, then back to the day to day grind. Other times, it look last a Sunday, months down the road. That is my experience with depression and darkness, after 50 years in this world. Here’s what I understand… and I’ll say this to whoever needs to hear this. I hope it finds you. You are not the negative thoughts in your head. You are not the not the negative things that you’ve done, unless you feel good about it and do it again. You’re actually pretty damn cool. You do have something good to give. And it’s you. It’s ok to be stuck in your head sometimes… just remember that you like yourself. That’s why you like to be alone at times. You enjoy and appreciate who you are. Give of yourself and of your time, to people who you care about. And also the less fortunate. Most important…… Fuck what the haters say and do to you.
