Hey folks! There is a correction that I needed to point out. Thank you Spencer for pointing that out. It is not my intention to make this mistake, but it is a sub brand that I’ve not worked on for many years. Bulova sister brand is not called Pulsar, but it’s called Caravelle.
In your professional opinion which watch brand/watch movement is easiest to find parts for. Looking into buying something vintage and something not such a headache to find parts. Love your content look forward to learning more and vintage and it restoration vids.
@@vicenteg1990 Honestly, it will depends on what sort of parts your watch maker has available. If you are uncertain, best to stick to cheaper vintage watches as parts will be less expensive to obtain. If you are looking for higher end watches, I personally would say vintage Omega.
These Top 5 Watch brand videos are great. Very good hint with regards to the Bulova Accutron tuning fork watches and what to "watch" out for.
I fuully accept your apology. Doxa is old and big brand, but I was suprised not to mention Graphic, which is perhaps one of the most important important model of this brand. Bauhaus design, beautiful and special. A lot of praise in the work and i gladly follow your comments which is great. Many greetings
Sometime it is important for the individual to do some research on their own first prior to buying anything. So knowing Doxa in the list and if the individual likes the brand he/she can do some more research about it. Learn about their movements and the models before finalizing their decision.
Excellent information which is well appreciated. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing your expertise in this niche space!
Great video. All those brands are exellent bang per buck. Love me some vintage bulova especially!
Thank you! There are many other brands which I'll introduce in a future episode.
fabulous and very educational video...Great options for those starting out in vintage collecting. Can get a great taste with out breaking the budget and truly seeing what kinds of watches and styles you want to focus on...
I appreciate your time that you always put into your video's, thanks...
Happy to hear that. It looks like a very simple video but it took up a lot of my time that's for sure. As always, I really hope that these videos I make will help many people out there. :-)
@@TimelessHistoryChannel You do a fantastic job explaining what things are in a way thats perfect. Have a great weekend!!
@@jadedarby7290 You have a wonderful weekend too my friend. :-)
Great series so far. It's nice to know what dealers think of brands. Your subscriptions seem to be growing. Which imho is well deserved. I wonder whether in the future it might be cool to compare modern and vintage versions of the same model for example 41mm connie with vintage pie pan. Just a thought.
Thank you! Maybe when the channel grows bigger and have more views, what companies my sponsor me to review their watches. I like to try them on and learn about their mechanism first. Don't want to review anything from just a photo. Similar to buying a car. :-)
@@TimelessHistoryChannel absolutely.
Excellent video DK, thank you very much !!!!!
It's important that I make these videos. I wanted people to understand that a low value watch does not mean it's a low quality watch. There are a lot of underrated watch brands that some people have forgotten.
@@TimelessHistoryChannel very true !!!
Great contents as always.
Much appreciated!
I really like the Doxa and Zodiac vintage watches.
50s Doxa are very attractive.
I don't think I've ever seen a thumbs down on any of these videos. Thank you.
Let's not jinx that! haha
I have 3 1940s Elgin watches. The most spent was $165 US. Indestructible and solid military issue.
Great video as always. The book looks really interesting too. Is it still available?
Probably not this edition from nearly 10 years ago. Plus such a book is only good to study images and read a little bit about the watch. Can’t really follow count on the price guide. I bought this one from Chapters.
I own Doxa, Enicar, Bulova, and omega, among others.
Great brands, hope to get a few from this video. What are your thoughts on Lord Elgin from the 1940's?
Lets just say that they will be in a future episode
Don't forget Glashutte GUB, especially the 36mm dress watches. You can even still find some of the Q1 versions in this price range.
Thank you for the comment. As stated in the video, this is only one of many to come. :-)
I got very lucky and walked into a local jeweler and in the back corner (in a pile) they had a JLC for $150, I picked it up
and bought it the same minute
Haha. Nice!
Very nice. Would you think a possible video would be least scammed (Franken) brands
This maybe a very difficult topic to do. You will most likely find Franken pieces for every quality made brand names out there. Which is why no one should rush into buying a vintage or modern watch. Study the brand that you are interested and then break down the brand and focus on a particular model that you like from that brand. Learn everything about that model before you even go out shopping for one. knowledge is key. Maybe you should watch this video I made: ua-cam.com/video/pW6uKYuCkJc/v-deo.html
All my brands :)
Wittnauer was acquired by Bulova that was acquired by Citizen.
Doxa is great quality for less money. Fantastic watches.
How about Baylor Watches I Own about three and I they have some beautiful movements I have two do more research on them to find out how good they are any information on your part will be appreciated thank you 0.E.
Condition is Key. I have owned a nice Baylor years ago. It's a beautiful watch and works fantastic.
I want to collect inexpensive vintage watch. They are lovely and not cost so much. Although I can hear Archieluxury shout dogshit on me from miles away. Lol
what is title of the book at the beginning? thank you

very helpful and informative video. that would be great if you make recommendation videos for 500usd, 1,000usd and 2,000usd vintage watch brands.
I like Marvin
Definitely! For a future episode
Hi, I'd like to know if your watches come with the box/papers.
Have a good day :D
Hi, you will have to check my site. Any piece that comes with box and papers will be shown as the main display picture. But do note that box and papers do not proof whether the watch is original or not. Anyone can make one up nowadays.

One correction... you said that Pulsar is Bulova's sister brand- that's incorrect. Pulsar is one of Seiko's budget brands, and the name was originally used by Hamilton for their LED watches. Pulsar has no connection with Bulova as far as I know. Maybe you were thinking of Caravelle, which is Bulova's budget brand.
Haha. Yes yes! You are absolutely correct! Thank you so much for the correction. I used to work at a watch retailer over 20 years ago. The store I worked for used to carry many brands from the Japanese, American and Swiss market. From low budget watches to high end Mont Blanc. Let me pin this correction on the comment section before someone else correct me again. 😆 Highly appreciated
@@TimelessHistoryChannel Hahaha, no problem! So easy to get mixed up with all those brands! Great video as usual. :D
Yes it does! Knowing the brands is one thing. Remember their caliber numbers is next level. Haha
@@TimelessHistoryChannel Rolex and modern Omega references... scary!
@@spencer.watches lol
guyyyyyyysssssssss
And glycine? In the future?
Glycine is a good brand too. Yes, definitely can be part of a future episode.
The most popular Doxa watch was Graphic and Antimagnetic, both from 50’s. Why you have missed them in this video. Big mistake.
Huge mistake! I should remake this video! lol
You do know that I am sharing the brand of the watch I recommend. Whatever model you will end up buying that is all up to you. :-D DO apologize that your most Popoular Doxa did not appear in the video. Maybe next time I'll feature them.
