I had to stop the video at the five minute mark. I just couldn't take the constant negativity. Man, there has got to be some redeeming value to this vehicle in your eyes. I've watched plenty of other videos and, though there were negative points, the car got overall great marks. By the four minute mark I started playing a game of trying to guess what would be your next negative comment. It actually got ridiculous. Go check out Alex on Autos as he reviews this very same vehicle and take notes.
In some cases I compare specs against the competition, and it is, what it is. You really must be looking for the negatives to say that, so let me point stuff out to you: - big boot - long wheelbase - interesting infotainment system (albeit not perfect) - sporty steering feel - comfortable seats (minus the headrests) - decent visibility - good soundproofing - safety systems - ... and watch the last 6 minutes or so.
@@MarekDrives The 2.0t is offered in usa... It's rare tho... Is it an sr/mr breed??? We also get the vq and vr. Great video. New sub. Also, i can't seem to find any videos of the m56/q70. Do you have any?? Thanks for the info
@@mikeschaner5853 I have. A 2018 2.0 t q50 pure in california i HATE that it doesn’t have navigation I FEEL ripped off for 35thousand dollars that I have to pay
I like the new tech features and Infiniti has a good track record for reliable tech, that being said, the G is a far better driver's car and has aged very well. Nasser left for Cadillac because he didn't like the focus on tech rather than driving experience. Hopefully the next gen cars will go back to the old strategy
thanks Marek. it may be a good, if not one of the best lane keeping systems, but it didn't look a very trustworthy or relaxing experience :D (i do realize it's not designed to be autonomous)
Just in case you find it interesting. A diesel model has never been offered here in the States. The 4 cylinder just came out this year - and everyone believes the engine is garbage. I own a '18 Q50S, been pretty happy with it aside from the navigation, which I'll be swapping out for one of those Tesla style screens. I am not sure about all the complaints regarding the transmission, it seems just as fast as the Audi I owned prior to it, and it's clear that you should wait for it to be completely warm to beat on it. Your video was nice, good cinematography, audio, and I appreciate the English version.
Thanks. When Infiniti first came to Europe, they said European spec cars would be different from the US spec cars in terms of suspension and steering setup, gearbox, brakes, etc. to better meet European customers' requirements and suit European roads (generally there are more corners, and changing of speed, while in the US you tend to drive straight on long distances). This could go the other way too, and the Audi you drove could be different from the Euro spec car. I'm not saying it definitely was, but it could have been.
Hello Marek, I currently drive the CLA250 (same engine as 2.0t?) and absolutely hate the transmission but enjoy the power of the engine. Does this Infiniti have a better balance of engine and transmission?
+curseknight5 The Q50 2.0t is like the pre-facelift CLA 250. As part of the recent facelift MB has reprogrammed the gearbox, and it feels a lot more responsive.
+thabg007 Hybrid comes only with the bigger petrol engine, and AWD is available with hybrid. As far as 2.0t and AWD is concerned, it's a Mercedes drivetrain. Mercedes does have a C200 4MATIC, but that's a lower power output. Maybe with 211 hp it's too expensive.
why bmw, lexus and whats not have paddles rotating with the wheel but not on infinity? i would probably want to shift in the long turns too not just when driving straight! please share why!
Alexander Lvov Different design concepts. I think Infiniti claims it has something to do with their F1 experience. But then I've seen racing drivers coping very well with BMW-style paddle shifters, or even sticking to the gear stick (also in automatics).
I've had one for a month as a loan car (2018) funny thing is I didn't know it had a turbo till I seen this so it must be a mild one. Couple of things- engine cuts off every single time you stop and it's damn annoying and what for? economy? I'm getting 10.4lts/100km WTF I got this from my Aussie built xr6 ford falcon 4.0 litre inline 6 (better car BTW) luxo car though but just so sterile!
It's called stop&start, and it's supposed to help you achieve up to 10 percent better fuel economy around town. If implemented properly, it should be relatively unobtrusive. It is possible to turn it off temporarily. Stop&start appears basically is all new cars now. I recently drove a McLaren, which had it as well.
I have to say that this review is deliberately and totally meant to turn people away from this vehicle. I have look at reviews from top companies like motor trend, road fly, car advice, Kelly blue book, motor week and many more prominent car review companies, and this vehicle has a rating of 8 over 10. It looks like you have been paid or some form of pressure has been applied, hence forth this mediocre review.
+Monrowe Toussaint It's just not a very good car for the price. And guess what, I'm not paid by anybody. I do not sell my own ads, unlike some of media you mentioned above.
+Monrowe Toussaint I think the 2.0t version of the Q50 definitely lacks value. If you want the best value, the current 3.7 or the 300hp 3.0t is probably the best bet.
I have a 2018 2.0t q50 pure I regret getting it I have no sun roof I have no navigation I payed 35 thousand dollars it has 22 thousand miles I feel ripped off
I traded my G37S in for the Red Sport [Q50S 3.0t.... 400hp]. Love everything about the car. The ONLY minor issue is the lower touch screen collects finger prints since it is a glass like screen. So I got a stylus and/or use the knob instead. I have ZERO complaints, but I would never bought the 4 cylinder model.
nuffflavor agreed I drove the 2016 q50 2.0t while my g35 was getting repaired it's really slow compared to the g35/g37 it didn't have enough power for me and everytime I would stop the engine would turn off to save gas I didn't really like that I l like my engine to be on at all times. 2.0t engine not worth it
You might like putting people down, but actually, as a native English speaker, I find Marek's English to be exceptionally good. He's totally fluent, and his Polish accent really is minimal.
This video single handedly convinced me to get the 2016 q50 2.0t . I’m sold will have it by the weekend !!
How is it?
me too!!!
4yrs later... Did you get the car 🤔
Your reviews are always realistic and honest. Keep it up

In the US we get this car with the 3.7L V6 engine. It is a real power house.
Goru Minosyan We used to have a 3.7 petrol, now we get a 2.2 diesel, 3.5 petrol hybrid (ua-cam.com/video/CLWd7P-7Zkg/v-deo.html), and the 2.0 turbo.

The ICC and ALC make long journeys much more relaxing. Doing 20,000 year in my fully loaded hybrid.

I hope Nissan brings back the silva with a 230 hp 7300 rpm QR25VHR rwd engine and implements that same high revving NA 4 banger in the q50.
They should have kept the VQ25HR, the V-6 has no turbo lag and dual air inlets.

I'm asking if the one that you're driving is the premium package?
This is Premium Tech (Tech was added recently, and allows to include as option Adaptive Steering + active lane assist)
which packages that car premium or standard?
