I still have a hard time believing Ramah's father would even let her travel with Thomas and Jesus. At the very least he would require a brother to accompany her.

I saw all the episodes in the theater. Definitely plan on it for season 5. It was fantastic on the big screen.

I'll be honest I feel like this is where I'll stop watching this show. IMO there's now just too much 'filler' and side content being added to the biblical story. I understand that was needed and accepted what they did early on, but now the shows seem to be more about the filler content than the biblical content. Things have just gotten off track. I liked the first couple seasons, and appreciate what they were trying to do, but just didn't stay focused enough IMO.
There is so little in scripture concerning Thomas. We know he demanded proof of Jesus' ressurrection, and we know from extra biblical sources that he was martyred on the mission field. This shows details of how Jewish culture worked, as many of the other "backstory" bits do.
I agree. Nobody should invent anything about Jesus that isn’t in scripture- for example that someone who loved Him would be killed right in front of Him. And the way Thomas is portrayed as hateful. These things did not happen. It’s fine to invent side characters but they should not have ever become anything important. Very sad.
I understand…but we have to remember it’s a tv show.
Yeah, me too. I find myself waiting for the scriptural parts, especially that involve Jesus, and the other stuff I just tune out. It's like getting a tasty morsel of food after having to eat through a bunch of gruel. 😋 It's the same way with sermons. If there's not much meat (scripture) to it, it feels pretty empty.
It’s called context, not “filler,” and you are missing the whole point. The contextual stuff allows people who are not as familiar with the gospels as you might be, to bring the story alive for people to understand and perhaps bring them to God. You are being judgmental, unfortunately.
