Was there any break in period before the test runs, and if not, what effect did it have over the course of the various runs? In other words did the motor "loosen up" towards the end of the testing?

These little engines have a lot of potential to create a lot more power than they do stock. They can really be a lot of fun. The best part is how cheap they are, if you screw up you are not out much money.

i think removing exhaust cap just removes any backpressure and thatway leans up the mix and gains power. however its better to leave the cap on and just lean out the main jet. from stock its 70 or 72, stock 66cc likes 64-68 main.

Great! I built one years ago it had lots of torque a higher gear ratio, modified ports a long length chamber and biggest cooling fin head I could get. The timing on these is crap but you can find a happy setting. It did 67kmh and pulled up any hill in Sydney eastern suburbs AUS. But they became fully illegal so now I have a 1800w ebike and the cops don't even look.

Love your vids...followed along to try to balance my crank on my gas bike...ended up drilling holes to lose weight from crank opposite top end assembly...maybe a little smoother. Also like ur tips on how the expansion chamber works to increase power. I have everything opened right up size wise and some port timing adjustments. The pipe is the best powr mod by far after all else is tweaked.Want to see you change the port timing and get it back on the dyno. And get an ex chamber on there..cheers

It looked like that exhaust cap's outlet extended into the muffler, I don't think that's how it's supposed to be. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get even more gain by cutting that off, and smoothing out the inside of the cap. I suspect that's why removing the cap showed any gain at all, it shouldn't have, it should have reduced power a bit.

    Hey man.
I have played around with these crap engines myself before. I have it in a 1960's Puch bike and damn the thing used to fly (top speed of 80km/h) until the crank blew, once you will have a look inside you will understand why.
But what I wanted to say it that I did make a "performance" exhaust pipe from a 50cc sport leovince pipe for a minarelli scooter and that seemed to give a nice increase in power. As my engine is dead I would like to mail it to you for you to try it on the dyno and maybe tell if it is any good, you would offcourse keep it.
I did run this engine with the piaggio 17.5mm standard carb, that is now used on my drifting shopping kart. :D
I also designed a intake manifold to house a reed valve from minarelli scooter, yet I only had a 3d printer, so it melted soon after, but it definetly helped.
So yeah, hit me up in PM and I can send you the exhaust and reed, manifold kit :)
Also I can send you the file for the manifold 3d print.
Some photos of it and a video of how I killed it.

I have A 50cc moped, IT has some timing parts on IT But id like to know IF its worth puttningen on A open air filter on IT. Do you think i Will see any gain in horsepower? The moped is A Yamaha Slider, IT has A 50cc stage6 mk2 cylinder, A stage 6 pro replica exhaust, stage 6 crank, cheap 17,5 mm carburator. A malissi mhr variator. Original "membran" and reeds and clutch and gears and ignition. And intake. And air box . "This became a messy text..." i actually already have a open biltema airfilter. Do U think I'll gain hp or will it just make the engine more un relieble? And do u think I should change carburator and intake as well? Thanks for answers.

Been following a few months. So excited about the motorized bike. I have recently built a bike with the same Chinese engine. Tho now it includes: ported cylinder, big reed valve, CNC head, expansion chamber, 19mm card and performance ignition. No idea about h.p. However, with my 21kg bike + 72kg rider + 34t sprocket, I am seeing 75kph at 1800m above sea level, here where I live. I want to do further power mods, and I look forward to your insight and wisdom. Your videos are entertaining, humorous and informative, I have found them to be an inspiring source of knowledge while working on my bike. Thank You. I’d love to get advice from you on how to squeeze more power from my engine.

Already interesting. Do we conclude that the exhaust silencer is just the wrong shape or length for the porting as it is? I do just wonder how long the big-end and main bearings will hold up to this experimentation! Thanks, good video.

+Leslie Austin Thanks! I don't think the exhaust is doing anything at all here, and removing the cap just let the engine breathe better.

    • @AuMechanic
      @AuMechanic 6 років тому +1

Yeah agree, just breathing a little more, doubt it's doing much expansion chamber work.
Taking the end of and getting more power sort of points to the intake being on the small side.
(My reasoning is: If it was just exhaust pressure too high it would be getting too hot, so ifs not too hot then it points to intake too small or timing)
Might be time to measure up the port timing on it to see where its at.

I had no idea you could fit a Tomos/Puch head on one of those nice 👌🏻 it might make a good power increase if you do some porting and polishing on those might be able to get about 5hp pretty easy of course 5 hp on a Tomos is nothing I know because I have a tomos I blew up I didn’t have $500 for an engine legit tomos so I spent $300 and hacked the frame and put a lifan 125cc pitbike motor it’s a rocketship until about 50mph and then it starts to lose Exceller ration but it gets to 60mph but that’s because I have a 19 tooth front sprocket that is meant for an ATV and 45 tooth rear sprocket I need to get a sprocket that is slightly smaller for the rear and go back down to the 17 tooth front sprocket do you have any suggestions do any of the commenters have any suggestions to have had the time to read this ridiculous oversized comment?

A large part of thr male population is color blind. That said, not completely color blind. This means colors can often be used without problem. Basicly, some people can't tell a difference in reds or greens for the most part. It has to do with cone development in the eyes.....something like that...
I work with large trucks in the US. Many had wiring harnesses that were only white and black. They had to have letters and numbers on them. I never understood why colors were a problem....if you are going to lable them anyway....it still helps 90% of the population.
That said, I would leave the dotted and dashed lines....but change their colors. I only suggest that because you show the graphs in your videos....if it was just you, it wouldn't matter.
    Good Luck!

2STROKE STUFFING I just feel the tomos still beats RSE HEADS at a fraction of the cost but leans between a RSE and bbr tuning head since tomos is of higher quality then any mb products.
If you make testing on that please do a post thanks.

    • @chambliziOfficialChannel
      @chambliziOfficialChannel 6 років тому

ahh well i was looking at juiced moto parts and he stated that the open " differances" between using the puch head vs the stock mb slant head is about 2cc of capacity volume, in the head in which the slant has 9cc capacity inside the head, while the puch uses 7cc of fluid volume.
This means that the compression will spike, from 150 psi to 200psi thus making it high compression resulting in overheating,
my own theory tells me that to compensate for this one would have to use a different piston other then that which is equipped with the standard MB kit known as a dished piston which are commonly found in older mopeds such as PGO scooters, morini/ minarelli's which are fairly expensive but worth the time if one could match its said output. but by far if the jug is within confines of stroke length relative to the crankshaft one could directly swap with a puch jug set up "ASSUMING" that the transfer ports match up. if they dont then its best to tick tack back to the drawing board.
I my self am looking for an extensive hack to crack the 50cc code of problems even including going water cooled if applicable.
In the long run what it boils down to adding that 2-3ccs back to satify the stock jug.
in addition reedless motorized bicycles run better when cold, so if there was a way to over cool one you'd gain that back at top speed but more likely resulting in seizure by over cooling.
Oh and by the way thanks for showing how to balance our shitty cranks.
next time my engine tanks after brazing my current stripped cylinder bolt i think its time to tear it down and rebuild it back up.

That's okay power compared to a 50cc 4 stroke moped scooter.

To be honest, this mod is the only way to go. With a filter and baffles, the performance is no good. I couldn't even handle the hills I'm riding.

Not trying to insult you, but you make things way to difficult to understand. At least for me, wish you would make you teaching more understandable as you're very very smart when it comes to these two strokes.. I tried to follow your suggestions for porting intake, transfers & exhaust and my word you lost the hell out of me... Seeing that dyno is like, " this man is a freeking genius ".... No offense intended at all !
