Matt this is a great product. As a plumber I see the value in it. The way it is designed makes repairing almost unnecessary and I think this will be the frost proof of the future. Repairs and replacements of traditional frost proof faucets are horrible. Thanks for sharing!
Still using the same frost-proof spigot that came on the house in 1964. Would like to change it, but why? IT WORKS. All i have to do is turn the BRASS handle. When it leaks, I spend $2 and change the washers; like new again. Still can't figure out why I need to buy this and have plastic adapters laying around for my dogs to chew on, when what's been there for 60 years is still frost-free, 100% trouble free and working fine. Far from 'horrible', that's for sure! I've used the new phasic siphon ones too, just keep a hose off the end of one like one should when it freeze and they're fine. Like anything else one gets what one pays for. Except for this abortion.....
AGENT 47 my normal frost proof hose bibs seem to work just fine as long as I take the hose off. Cost far less than this, and don't need a dongle. Regards from the great white North of Minnesota.
deriquez I do really wish it came standard with the insert that has a valve on it. That’s pretty silly to charge a premium and make you pay even more for a basic valve.
This is funny to watch as a plumber comming from northern Sweden. Haha the world is really diffrent. Been to Texas and absolutely loved the it. Wonderful people and mentality. Peace
I like the standard frost free hose valves, Jmo. Also, I never use any type of saw, always just a utility knife. Had to cut an access hole for a tub drain replacement and if I had used any type of saw, I would have nicked 4 wires and one was the water heater wire and 2 copper pipes.
The only thing this product has going for it is the look. Three times the price of conventional bibs, proprietary coupler, no flow control at the connection point (unless you buy their adapter) and leaks water with every connection\disconnect. Tell me again how this is a good product?
Any anti-siphon leaks some water when you disconnect. It's actually about 1/3rd more. I consider a good anti-siphon wall hydrant to cost about $60. I would absolutely not trust it not to leak if it was $20.
Hey Matt - Your videos are so chock-full of great info, I'm blown away. I'm responsible for a main residence and a rental home in Michigan = your tips, products, methods, and guidance are worth gold. Thanks, and keep it up!!
Mr Risinger, Great post great product you did another video that included info on it in the past. Since that video I added it to my notes, to make sure I add it to my new build house.
Completely agree. They have to make lots of money though. I can almost guarantee they make nothing on the actual wall system. The money is all in the attachments. Be nice if there was an easy attachment onto any standard hose
well that is good to know that if i see a house with that installed its going to cost me lots more in the long run. will have to take that into account when i am bidding.
I myself just built a cheap hose holding post with a PVC connector running through it. This way any yanking of the hose doesn't destroy something inside the house and has a flow regulator, quick disconnect and a hose splitter on it. Whole thing plus the feed hose costs about $30. You need a drill to make a hole through the post. But it works wonders and I have a place to put the hose on. If I ever yanked to hard it would just break the PVC and cost $2 to fix.
Matt, I had these installed in my Az home just because of the slickness of these. Tommy from TOH made a video of these about a year ago. Good tip about getting the hose adaptor- i forgot to order mine. Love it in the north for no frozen bursted pipes, love it in the south on my modern looking home. Nice video!
Product looks great idk about aquor but with standard freeze proof hose bibb which seals with a rubber washer inside the conditioned space like most standard if that rubber washer failed and water builds up in the cavity it will leak and freeze and burst as quick or quicker than a standard hose bibbs used with pex which has some expansion relative to the brass or copper used in the freeze proof hose bibb. For reference I'm also in the south in Georgia
Andrii Pasichnyk I live in NJ, but I can tell you what to do with them, I’ve got regular 12” long freeze proof faucets since 1977, greatest thing since sliced bread!,,,,, Cheers from NJ
I'm curious why you're using a 4" hydrant when the bricks are 4" , air space then 4" of framing . I'm either missing something or something isn't kosher here.
Not a fan of that polymer connection. Matt mentioned a few weeks back on a water heater video to always go with the brass connection for draining off sediment. And with water heaters you might only do that once or twice a year. So it seems strange to me that he's promoting this product where you are constantly going to be making and removing connections. It is a cool and interesting product. Definitely slick-looking. But I have my doubts about the durability of that polymer long term.
Well assuming it wasn't overly expensive conceptually its nice because you can easily replace the bib. But the type plastic used is quite durable. When Matt was talking about water heaters the brass connection indicates the inside of the tank is metal and not a plastic inner lining.
+ apburner1 Agreed. But my approach was just to get a PVC covered fence post and drill a large hole through it and attach a metal hose rack to it. It means the wear and year happens to $3 of PVC connectors and I have a place to put my hose. My house has got a vacuum breaker wall hydrant. Now this would cost about $30 more than buying a decent conventional wall hydrant. But my whole rig costs about $10. You do need a good drill to make a hole through it though.
Cheaper to fix the valve, etc in the case of rare freezing temps than to replace the hose bib altogether. If you're gonna do it, just wait until it actually breaks, which more than likely will be never (unless you live in the snow).
Honey, what did you do with that special adapter so that I can use the hose bibb? I don't know, you used it last! Damn it! I'll go on line and order some more of these proprietary fittings so that we can get water from our beautiful sleek looking faucet.
All the parts most sustainable to breaking are now in the removable part and it looks cool. Other than that not much. A decent anti-siphon wall hydrant is about $60. This is $90 and you'll still need a flow regulator on the end or pay another $20 for the adjustable attachment.
i have this dewalt osillicating tool, you can have the blade to cut through dry wall or even metal, just color mark tip of the blade for drywall depth indication, to prevent accidently cut through something behind
Your entire case for this product was that it looks cool. You cited no benefits over the standard frost free hose bib. In fact, you pointed out all of the shortcomings of this product and then continued to endorse it. It takes a proprietary fitting (that is not readily available). It costs 3x as much as the standard product. The cut off valve positioning is the reverse of virtually every other quarter-turn shut off. You need an extra fitting at the terminal end of the hose for volume control. The connections are made of plastic. I enjoy your channel and have learned much, but this was little more than a paid advertisement.
im from iowa. ive never seen these. and it freezes always here. so i guess ill google the fastening process. cause it makes no sense on HOW to properly install these things from this video. nornally matt shows this. its weird
+ro63rto At 7:25 it twists. It's clear the top two fasteners are firmly in place. Maybe he just screwed the bottom two bare to the mortar? Also you should always use a slightly smaller drill bit than the plastic anchors so they grip really well. This is kind of the nature of working with brick. It's a bit easier with wood behind siding.
So that round cylinder with the circular logos doesn’t control flow at all ? You need a plastic adapter for that? Than what’s the point of it being there
Just use the main shutoff, till you get a plumber to replace the hose bib with a standard one he has on the truck. You can get some concrete patch to fill in the big hole from the old Aquor.
Does it come with it's own built in WiFi to tell you that it is leaking or you should replace a seal? No thanks..Yea it has the cool factor and may be good in certain home applications, but not for standard house hold owners. Now people need to store the adapters for these things? Damn I lost it, can't go to the store to buy a new one now..have to look online..
There are better quality cheaper solutions to the freezing problem. Everyone always has an overpriced version of everything, doesn't mean it's always the best.
This is kinda cool. But i really don't see the problem with just having a shutoff in the house and turning it off during winter. No special faucet at all
Here in Texas, there is no place to have a shutoff inside since the other side of these walls is your kitchen or living room. I don't want a shutoff in the middle of my living room.
You know what I've never thought? "Oh, what a crappy house. Look at that water hose spigot" lol. I get the need for the frost free stuff but I live in Cleveland, we use the foam cup thing. Haven't had a problem yet. Then again, I always turn the water that feeds the spigot off for the winter also. So, I guess it's sort of the same thing.
The Aquer is a nice looking product, but I think anyone living in colder environments is going to take issue with your installation. How you seal and insulate to prevent air and water penetration is arguably the most important part of an install like this but you skipped it. I've seem many frost-free faucets freeze in the wall because of bad installations and when they finally thaw it's a real mess.
Yeah, I though that round thing that goes through the lid was actually the dial to control the water flow... I was interested in the product until I realize you need an adapter to perform the basic function of controlling the water flow...
Matt, there has to be something else that can look that good but not Cost 90 bucks! wow. that's Just insane I don't have freezing here were im at but $90 for a Hose Bib is insane no matter how good it looks and those plastic parts outside? Whats the lifespan on something like that?
anyways u should show people every process of installation. i hate when someone just shows how awesome something is without telling u they just rig a peice of wood to make the thing "look" like it screws into the brick. nothing screws into brick unless u drill out holes with hammer drills and a concrete or stone drill bit. i really think u should show the fastening side of the project
No thanks. There’s nothing wrong with the look of a standard hose bib on the side of a house. Why buy a hose bib with proprietary parts? You’ll regret it later when you can’t go to the hardware store and get a simple part.
All frost free hose spigots drip some water after shutoff, they are releasing the water inside the spigot so that there is nothing but air inside the spigot. That's how it keeps from freezing. however yes, you did in fact just watch a 90 dollar spigot drip water on to a brick wall. For that much money the damn thing should predict the future or something lol.
Those tiny screws don’t look adequate to secure that thing in place properly. With so much twisting on and off to turn the faucet on or off, that is gonna get really sloppy, real fast, you can already see it moving. Looks like they was designed for new construction and mounting into plywood and it crappy old mortar... I think it looks great but missing proper hardware and the propriety attachments will be a problem for most as well.
Well thats cool and stupid at the same time.so if you lose that hose bib connection your screwed, the connection pieces is plastic so it will break/crack/wear out so you will have to replace that piece my guess more then once. And since you cant shut it off at the house ever time you disconnect the 50 ft hose from your house you get 50ft of water coming back at you.
Tenth Dimension I don’t see how loosing that plastic thing is worse from loosing your regular garden hose. Just buy a new one and be more careful next time.
Richard van Pukkem The life expectancy of a boutique plumbing supply company is considerably less than expected life of a house exterior remodel. Better buy a spare when installed.
Really? They carry Woodford and Woodford rebuild kits. My 20 year old house came with Woodford. I think you're doing it wrong if you have to replace the valves every year or two.
Mikey83943 These are not rocket science. I have a ABS pipe that goes to a braided hose to the connector on the hose bib. The hose bib tilts to the exterior. I remove the garden hose so the water can drain. Every year or they fail. I try to find the same brand for warranty replacement, but they are generic and never the same. Love to know what I am doing wrong. Swapping them out now only takes about five minutes. I am very skilled at it.
Matt this is a great product. As a plumber I see the value in it. The way it is designed makes repairing almost unnecessary and I think this will be the frost proof of the future. Repairs and replacements of traditional frost proof faucets are horrible. Thanks for sharing!
Having your seal of approval sells it for me. Thank you Roger and Matt!
Still using the same frost-proof spigot that came on the house in 1964. Would like to change it, but why? IT WORKS. All i have to do is turn the BRASS handle. It's the Apple of hose bibbs. It costs 3 times as much and needs a dongle to perform even its most basic function!
deriquez Perfect comparison.
🤣🤣🤣
Bonus, the adapter has a reverse convention to every other ball valve in existence! That's a horrible user design decision.
AGENT 47 my normal frost proof hose bibs seem to work just fine as long as I take the hose off. Cost far less than this, and don't need a dongle. Regards from the great white North of Minnesota.

I love seeing innovation in the market for items like this.
Tell the sponsor that this resulted in at least 1 sale. I never heard of this but it looks awesome so I picked one up.
I like the standard frost free hose valves, Jmo. Also, I never use any type of saw, always just a utility knife. Had to cut an access hole for a tub drain replacement and if I had used any type of saw, I would have nicked 4 wires and one was the water heater wire and 2 copper pipes.
august he’s barely got that saw in the wall and he’s going slow. No danger here
Mrcaffinebean, Most likely not but in my situation, I would have been screwed !
7:27 Oops, you already pulled out your screws, and the whole thing is rotating.
jej3451 Indeed. It’s not mounted properly.
Lmao
I would think longer screws to go through the brick and into the wood would be more secure.
The only thing this product has going for it is the look. Three times the price of conventional bibs, proprietary coupler, no flow control at the connection point (unless you buy their adapter) and leaks water with every connection\disconnect. Tell me again how this is a good product?

Hey Matt - Your videos are so chock-full of great info, I'm blown away. I'm responsible for a main residence and a rental home in Michigan = your tips, products, methods, and guidance are worth gold. Thanks, and keep it up!!
Can't wait till my house gets built here in NC . Will be having them installed on it. Thanks for sharing Matt.
Your boss at Aquor is sending you some free samples? Make sure he sends you all the accessories and the Stainless Steel covers!
William Terry No have to go old fashion route . Will buy them .
Mr Risinger,
Great post great product you did another video that included info on it in the past. Since that video I added it to my notes, to make sure I add it to my new build house.
I wouldn't consider buying this hydrant...simply because you have to buy their adapters to use it.
mbcris yep... and even if you bought the adapters when they break years later noone guarantees tha you will be able to find others new
Apple must have designed this
My thoughts exactly.
Completely agree. They have to make lots of money though. I can almost guarantee they make nothing on the actual wall
system. The money is all in the attachments.
Be nice if there was an easy attachment onto any standard hose
at least they cud make adapters from stainless steel to
We use the frost free faucets here in Canada. No issues. I usually spray foam the void around the pipe before silicone.
I'm so glad I have found your site so wish I knew about you in 2 previous house my new build now will be using alot of your suggestions
well that is good to know that if i see a house with that installed its going to cost me lots more in the long run. will have to take that into account when i am bidding.
Seems securely mounted, no flex at all haha
I myself just built a cheap hose holding post with a PVC connector running through it. Sounds great! Post a video on UA-cam!
I could post some pictures of it

proprietary connector? No thanks.
playnich at least it can be 3D printed. But who has one of those printers lying aground. Lol
Gabriel Fair would need a 3d printer that can print nylon with glass fiber, else it will snap at the first tug of the hose
You should explain how you drilled the holes into the bricks so that the screws snugged up so well.
I'm guessing the screws are specifically designed for this type of job, masonry screws aren't uncommon.
This is cool, also in a high traffic area with little ones. Totally gonna do this on my deck out back.
This will most definitely keep random people from turning on your water.
Roger DeVeaux A long screwdriver and a small hammer might get it open quick
Product looks great idk about aquor but with standard freeze proof hose bibb which seals with a rubber washer inside the conditioned space like most standard if that rubber washer failed and water builds up in the cavity it will leak and freeze and burst as quick or quicker than a standard hose bibbs used with pex which has some expansion relative to the brass or copper used in the freeze proof hose bibb. Awesome video, your content is superb!
Keep in mind replacing these vs traditional is much more of a hassle 👌.
Getting ready to change them here in NJ. People like these.
Hi Andrii Pasichinyk, yes we all love new toys, especially when they sparkle!
I am Laughing out loud From Toronto to NJ!
Hey, No laughing at Andrii, he is just posting what his boss at Aquor told him to do!
Andrii Pasichnyk I live in NJ, but I can tell you what to do with them, I’ve got regular 12” long freeze proof faucets since 1977, greatest thing since sliced bread!,,,,, Cheers from NJ
I’ve installed several. Not a bad review

Made to fail design just like everything manufactured in the last 50 years.
dtoad48 50 years? Maybe 30 but I don’t think 50

It's like a anti theft water outlet for your fromt porch.
Looks like my Fifth wheel camper water inlet.
Your entire case for this product was that it looks cool. You cited no benefits over the standard frost free hose bib. In fact, you pointed out all of the shortcomings of this product and then continued to endorse it.

it's a paid promo
Great content as always!!
Why am i watching this at 4 am? And there's no winter here in my country
love it! i want one!!
Amazon has the blue plastic one for $90, add the $40 SS cover and the accessories, maybe $200 total plus the plumber! Keep dreaming.
how do u fasten that to brick with tiny phillips head screws?
The screws are just to hold the plate on not the whole thing to the wall.
im from iowa. ive never seen these. and it freezes always here. so i guess ill google the fastening process. cause it makes no sense on HOW to properly install these things from this video. nornally matt shows this. its weird
I was wrong all four screws around the plate go into the mortar via plastic anchors.
penguins forall
Except he only used the top two. Was loose when he fitted the flow regulator 🤔
The new fitting looks lose when you attached the hose fitting on????🤔
I just put one on my house I love it!
Did they give you all the accessories too?
William Terry just one hose adapter, I did buy the second one with the valve
Did you get the sleek stainless steel cover too?
I'll never understand why I watch these, guess I'm dreaming I'll ever afford a house. Yeap 😣
blahblah jumpswing you will bro dont think like that . Everyone has a chance on this earth to do anything as long as your still breathing
What's that knob that goes through the lid? I thought it was the dial to control the water flow, but no, you need an adapter...
So that round cylinder with the circular logos doesn’t control flow at all ? You need a plastic adapter for that? Than what’s the point of it being there
Lol should be fun when the plastic bit snaps off inside the metal part, spraying water uncontrollably everywhere
Just use the main shutoff, till you get a plumber to replace the hose bib with a standard one he has on the truck. You can get some concrete patch to fill in the big hole from the old Aquor.
I wonder why don’t have this issue I live in Michigan and never had to deal with this I think the fixtures are steel though.
Cool! 👍👊
screw on vacuum breakers go bad..did you try tightening the packing
How has it held up over time?
Does it come with it's own built in WiFi to tell you that it is leaking or you should replace a seal?
No thanks..Yea it has the cool factor and may be good in certain home applications, but not for standard house hold owners. Now people need to store the adapters for these things? Damn I lost it, can't go to the store to buy a new one now..have to look online..
Pretty cool how did you learn this?
The stainless cover is not listed on Amazon, $40 extra on the Aquor website.
There are better quality cheaper solutions to the freezing problem. Everyone always has an overpriced version of everything, doesn't mean it's always the best.
Now you tell me. Just replaced my old one with the same thing. 🤓
You are lucky!!
In the north we just turn the pipes off and open the valves 🤦🏻♂️
Do they no longer make these in stainless steel? Amazon as well as their official website only show the aqua blue and slate grey
It’s brand new. Call them for the stainless cover
I know you said don't use power tools but what about using Makita's 18v drywall saw?
Is Makita a sponsor???
the more parts with threads, the more potential leaks.
Bonus feature: Gypsies can't steal your water.
YES!! Those darn gypsies are always washing their trucks loaded with wood stick furniture with my hose bib! But they always bring their hoses!
For 90 dlls...I will stick with the old faucet Thanks!!!
While I don't mind the Aquor commercial, he really gave short shrift to the actual installation. That was too bad.
Its nice but with all the extras? A bit too rich for my blood. Sticking with the old school $20 frost proof spigot.
this is interesting, tq for upload for us to view
A solution in search of a problem
Rich peoples hose bib.
The Aquer is a nice looking product, but I think anyone living in colder environments is going to take issue with your installation. Xyphren, not $90 for the sleek sexy Stainless Steel model!! $90 for the Blue plastic cover model!
anyways u should show people every process of installation. i hate when someone just shows how awesome something is without telling u they just rig a peice of wood to make the thing "look" like it screws into the brick. nothing screws into brick unless u drill out holes with hammer drills and a concrete or stone drill bit. i really think u should show the fastening side of the project
joe mommma just use PL Premium and a healthy dose of hope it doesn't need replaced
Do these come with hot and cold?
I've never heard of a heated outdoor faucet.
This proprietary hose spicket is kinda expensive and not something you can get parts for the hose at a local hardware store.
I have tuba four walls.
No thanks. There’s nothing wrong with the look of a standard hose bib on the side of a house. Why buy a hose bib with proprietary parts? You’ll regret it later when you can’t go to the hardware store and get a simple part.
And good luck if the company ever goes out of business
Use a drop cloth to protect the customers carpet..........
5:00 common crews? Should had used blue masonry screws.
did i just watch a guy replace a spigot with a $90 one and it drip down a brick wall?
All frost free hose spigots drip some water after shutoff, they are releasing the water inside the spigot so that there is nothing but air inside the spigot. That's how it keeps from freezing. however yes, you did in fact just watch a 90 dollar spigot drip water on to a brick wall. For that much money the damn thing should predict the future or something lol.
Old one leaks. New one leaks. Its ok new one looks modern.
I thought you were going to be the one to do the install. Guess I was asking too much...
I think it looks great but missing proper hardware and the propriety attachments will be a problem for most as well.
deja vu
Dylan T wtf does that mean ? Maybe get off the drugs
Dylan T troll
Deja vu - already seen
Interesting idea, but not practical. You need an adaptor which connects the same way a traditional hose does.....
Quick connect is the way to go.
It’s like an apple product, you HAVE to buy their brand name adapters, on/off valve where off is ON and ON is OFF? lol no thanks.
Why would they make inline off? For the price, it better be intuitive to use..
Nice the entry point can be sealed off. No place for insects to enter.
Yes, Pocket Hoses are a problem!
Cool product, but that ball valve hose end is totally backwardass
Why is it called a bib? It's just an outdoor tap.
i give those 3 tiny screws less then a year before they come off . on the video looks already wobly

Dude that thing is so loose
Sillcock is better .
This product is a joke. Lose that little plastic piece and you're screwed.
Every year or two, I have to replace my frost free hose bib at the orange big box store. Every year they have a different manufacturer.
