As a Lions fan if they win in Arrowhead I can tell you that the entire fan base will collectively lose their minds. The bandwagon will be completely off the rails.

Yep nobody realizes how great Detroit Lions fans are and how hungry they are to win. Arguably the best fan base in the NFL and they've been dying for a winter
While it would undoubtedly be a big step for the Lions organization, keep in mind that week 1 of the regular season isn't always the best indicator of how the rest of the season will go. For either team. The same team in September is often much different from the team it'll become in January

I want the Lions to win, but I think it's more important the way this very young team handles the process. They probably won't win, the odds are very stacked against them, but I hope Campbell uses this experience as a blueprint for their own expectations, for their own ring ceremony opening game in Detroit after they beat KC in the 2024 SB.

As a chiefs fan I can't wait for this game. I expect it to be very competitive and a close game as was the last time these teams squared up. I have the Lions winning their division this year and love the attitude that Dan Campbell brings to this team. Great hire for them and glad to see the lions relevant again. Decades old Lions fan here. For the last 20 years I have quietly watched every game. Last year I started wearing my Barry Sanders era team leather jacket. I no longer think “is this it?” MCDC and the Lions are it. And you are correct. We intend to watch the Pride beat the Kingdom. No disrespect to Andi Reid and the Chiefs, they will no doubt test the Lions. We are up to that test, and are G*^$$* tired of losing and as we showed the last 10 games last year and yes sending the Lady QB Rodgers packing is inspirational.
We are in it to win it. Since we have to go to KC we’ll bring, Welcome to Detroit, to them.

I’m a Lions fan, and while I’m not at all sure the Lions will win in KC, I’m definitely confident in saying they will give KC the fight of their lives! It’s going to be 60 minutes of pain, and even if KC wins, they won’t feel like they did!

The Lions may not win this game, but in my mind they are betting favorites to win the NFC North, most likely as the 3 seed. Because the NFC has only 4 good teams and 2 are in the East, they would be matched at home against whatever godawful team the 6 seed is (there's a legitimate chance it's either the Panthers or the Commanders) and have a great shot at ending their 31-year playoff win drought.

The Lions hype is getting a bit much. I have followed the Lions for 40+ years. This is fun, the Lions are in the conversation, but is getting a little bit over the top. The Chiefs are defending champs and at home. The game is theirs for them to win. But this is the NFL, any given Sunday and all that... I want a great showing with the Lions having a chance. Maybe they do it but probably they don't. At least the NFL has faith enough to put the Lions here at all.
Agreed. A win would be nice but I'm more interested in how they show up. Young team in the spotlight. How they respond, regardless of the final score is what matters to me. There are expectations now. We'll see how they handle the pressure. For me that's the real test.

Since 2006 his record is 14 and 3, and since taking over as Head Coach of the Chiefs he has gone 9 and 1. With Patrick Mahomes at QB, the Chiefs are 5 Wins and 0 losses in opening games. It seems as the years go by Andy Reid has gotten better, and with a QB like Patrick Mahomes, I don't imagine that will change any time soon. In contrast, Dan Campbell is going into his 3rd year as a Head Coach with a record of 0 wins and 2 losses in opening games. So if you are a Lions fan, you can still dream.
