- 2009.9.20 JR木次線で実施された、レールジョイントへの注油作業の際、注油機を牽引するのに用いられたレールランナーを線路に載せる作業です。
線路閉鎖確認後すぐに作業に着手し、軽トラックの荷台に搭載した台車をレール上に降ろし、その台車の上に軽トラックを載せます。
レールランナーは、台車に付いているプーリを軽トラックの後輪で回し、それを駆動力として線路上を移動します。

日本ならではの技術が満載でとても素晴らしい!
軽自動車の車輪幅とレールの幅がちょうど良い具合から全てが始まっている気がします。
全てがコンパクトに機能的に出来ていて、レールランナを降ろした後の荷台に人が乗る
ところで、その荷台のレールが取っ手になって安全に体を固定出来るというところが
流石と思いました。
なんといっても、この背景というか周りの雰囲気がたまらない……

Good thing JR has these small Suzuki pickup trucks to do maintenance work on the tracks. They're so nimble and efficient to set up and pack up; pretty quick to get around.
you never seen the trucks they got in the US? They just have to pull up and flip a switch to lower the wheels. this was the definition of inefficient.
@@fakiirification The small metal wheels on a hirail truck are not there to support the vehicle, nor do they provide traction.
The vehicle is actually supported by (and runs on) its regular running wheels.
@@fakiirification Another thing to keep in mind that Japan uses a narrower track gauge than the US does (except in some very specialized cases which I will not elaborate here). You can notice it in the video where the truck's wheels are physically wider than the rails, and as a result, they cannot simply convert an off-the-shelf truck into a road/rail vehicle.

レールランナーの開発コンセプトとして
『保守作業に必要な道具や器具等をトラックに積んだまま、載せ換える必要も無く、軌道上を安全に走行可能な効率的、且つ、経済的な手動又は電動牽引式昇降装置付レール走行装置を開発・提供する。』
という絶対的な大義があり、種車を改造しないことにより”経済性"を担保しているわけですね。
ちなみに台車を駐車場などに降ろしておけば、普通の軽トラとして使用することが出来るので便利です。

警備会社で列車見張の仕事をしてた時になったのを思い出す。
その時の軌陸車はトラックの前方と後方に鉄道の車輪がついてて、それが下がって軌道に乗せるタイプだったような。
新宿駅の中央緩行線下り線に行く時に千駄ヶ谷と信濃町の間から入るのは新鮮だった。

この私、50～60kgくらいの過積載なら
しばしば為しておりますが←内緒ですが。
JRのような公共的な企業ともなれば、
まさか常用するわけにも行きますまい。
あれだけの物品を350kg以内に留めたはずで、
流石に公共交通の多くを担う会社ですね。
頼もしく思います。
いいところにお気づきになりました。
この装置の総重量は300kg近くに収まっております。
ただ、作業地点に赴く際には、その他の装置や道具類も積載するため、ほとんどの場合350kgを超えてしまうという難点があります。
また人員も２人までしか乗ることが出来ないというのも現場での使い勝手から見れば芳しいものではありません。
そこで後継機として１ｔトラックのダブルキャブタイプに拡張した装置を製作しており、線路や電気設備の保守や点検に利用されています。

Well this is the most efficient and, (I'm afraid to say), amusing and ingenious piece of 'MoW' vehicle I have ever seen. If a few more railways took as much notice as this, then the 'small jobs' would get done faster and safer. Excellent video.

Explain to me how this is efficient in any way? Because it's made by japs? Efficient is the track trucks to be mounted on the frame of the truck, line up with the tracks and hit a switch to lower the trucks to the track. It can be one with one person and typically never have to get out of the truck.
@@Unknown_Ooh Right vehicle for the "Small Job", - my curiosity is what carried the silver 'personnel' wagon/cart and what was the yellow 'wagon' used for that needed 2 generators. We don't have this type of vehicle 'addition' in the UK. I would have thought it would be much cheaper as it is simply a small frame that can be carried and used by a small truck without the need for 'specialised' conversion which for something of that size would cost a lot more than 4 wheels and a small frame.

Oh that's very cool how you can back up into that (what ever it is). Unlike here in the us we have hi-railers which are trucks that can go on both roads a rail and have rail wheels equipped on them already which can be lowered down to the tracks.

An interesting set up? Seemed a lot of trouble to go through to put vehicle on track. When I worked on railways (Australian National Railways) they had Hi-rail vehicles, which were Toyota Land cruiser 4WD fitted with small set of rail wheels front and back, which were simply lowered in place, once vehicle was on track, process only took couple of minutes.

This form of Road Vehicle on railroad tracks is very different to how it is in America. In America, the truck has railroad wheels mounted on the underside that drop down when needed. This also means that the truck doesn't have to pull any additional trailers on the rails!

In America we have a neat contraption called a hi-railer. It can be either a small pickup truck like the one in this video, or even a larger flatbed truck with a small crane on it. It has train wheels on the front and rear that can be lowered onto the rails. It can take less than 5 minutes to drive up to a railroad crossing, lower the train wheels, and drive away like a train! Larger models are even able to pull full-sized railcars, since all the road wheels stay in contact with the rail for traction. You guys in Japan should adopt this idea because it is much faster and less complicated!
The Japanese don't have the huge wide roads that you have in the States. These tiny trucks are perfect for their tiny narrow roads.
Is this complicated? No. See that no modification to the truck. Construction can't be simpler and cheaper than this though it takes some time to load on to rails.
The main problem is because the standard Japanese gage is 1060 mm, but the truck is wide, so it's better solution

軌陸仕様のUNIMOGは効率こそ良いのですが非常に高価なため、予算的な面で厳しいようです。
この仕様ですと、軽トラが御用済みとなっても装置の問題がなければ載せ換えだけで済みますので
ランニングコストの面からも有利です。 ただ、慣れないとセッティングに手間取るのは確かなようですね。

No they are not struggling for money. especially JR. and secondary small axles can be easilly welded under the minitruc like done for railway unimogs. it's just a stupidly over complicated bondoogle requiring 4 times more people than should be needed. and dangerous as hell since it increas the time spend on active railway tracks. 大変遅くなりました。レールテックさんの所有物です。
今回は試運転要素が強かったので昼間の作業でしたが、実際には殆ど夜間作業となるので、見られる機会は稀だと思います。
この日撮影した影像は、本編を含めレールテックさんにお渡ししたところ、大層喜んでいただきました。
台車の設計、収納のコンセプト考えても凄く考えて作り込まれてますね。興味本位で見てたけど口ポッカーンでした。
