Pac later admitted that he saw a couple of opportunities to finish the fight but he knew Cotto’s kids and family were watching ringside. He also saw his kids crying during that first knock down and he didn’t want them to witness their dad getting knocked out cold. Plus Cotto is a kind and classy guy and is a good friend of Manny. Pac is an angel.

Agreed
Correct, Manny felt guilty and pity to knock out like Cotto.
Yeah miguel cotto is a classy guy. One of my favorite boxers ever.
I wonder how many of his wins by decision were because he showed mercy on his fellow man. Manny’s a hell of a fighter but an even better human being. God bless him
He showed mercy to Algieri, Margarito, Bradley 2 (dunno about 1st and 3rd), Vargas, and Dela Hoya.
@@timperalta9430he didn't show mercy to Margs... He purposely controlled his punches to inflict as much damage as possible without the ko because he wanted him to suffer, he has said it in interviews aswell, because of the plaster incident
@@St0lenriches he actually did show mercy. He gave an interview in the Philippines (I myself a Filipino hehe) and stated, “boxing is not killing” and then used the quote, which he has since used numerous times, “with great power comes great responsibility”.
He didn't do that to Margarito out of respect. He didn't want to KO Margarito, he wanted to make him pay by beating him senseless.
Didn't he say gay people are lower than animals? Does that sound like a kind or good man?
Manny Pacquiao still has people that love him from many nations, including Puerto Rico.
Well that is American property so yes we love him

I disagree i think it should be about who’s better you could be a great boxer but can you be the best? That’s a question everyone wants to know
Manny and cotto have great sportsmanship and respect towards each other. It'was business
When it comes to the age old comparison between Pac and Mayweather there is no comparison. The purity of Pac in and out of the ring is something that not only cannot be measured but can never again be replicated. God blessed this man ❤
Cotto and Pacman are great friends
Filipinos love the great Cotto too. So as Puerto Rico respecting Manny.

nah he badmouthed pacman on one of his recent interview

@@drdisresfaketaxi2898that's how they advertise bro
This is what separates Manny from a whole lot of fighters, doesn’t trash talk, doesn’t do anything disrespectful to the opposition.
Humanity and humbleness.
But when it’s time to perform, he is a straight up dog. A generous killer :)
Finishing the job does less damage than carrying someone for rounds of punishment. Hope you know that
@@joys8634Being able to stand a little longer improves one's confidence, even knocked down, Cotto was still able to give a good fight. It wasn't just a punishment but an actual battle. But still the ref stopped the fight, even though Cotto is still willing. A good call tho
@@kaisakitv1882doesn’t matter what his damn confidence was. He got a worse beating than if Manny would’ve just stopped him in the fourth round. That’s the point Manny isn’t nice
@@pandabear1576 who said Manny's nice? He is on the outside but different on the inside of the ring, but that depends. I'm just probably thinking that Pac doesn't want to knock Cotto's lights out turning him cold. Since that would definitely most affects his career more like his reputation. It seems Pacquiao was holding back enough, though giving him a beating, until the ref calls it out. If you watch the fight again, it was a beating but not one sided, you can see Cotto is still capable, but Pac is too fast. Until he got too many hits in the end
"A generous killer" ... that gave me chills 😮
Gentle Boricua 🇵🇷 Soul Meets Gentle Philippines 🇵🇭 Soul.
Respect for both sides
Somewhere along the way, Manny realized the speed and power of his punches could permanently hurt his opponents, and he lost some of his viciousness. I think it happened after that scary KO of Hatton. There were several fights after that where he could have finished his opponent but held back. Look at his fight with Margarito where he was pleading with the referee to stop the fight. Margarito had a fractured orbital and couldn't see Manny's punches coming anymore. Pacquiao could have absolutely finished him whenever he wanted, but Margarito would have probably been permanently blind if Pacquiao went for the kill.
This is true Freddy talked about it before
I remember the Hatton fight when I was a kid. He even said in an interview after the fight that he wanted the fight to last longer because it would be a waste of the people's money if the fight ends too early.
Manny saw cotto’s kids in the stands .. i think they were crying … i dont care how much of killer you are you have to be a complete savage to wanna brutalize someone’s dad in front of the kids
Hey, thats the game you get into bro🤷🏽♂️ i would knock my opponent tf out and then go check if hes ok but im not playing and that doesnt make u a worst person, youre just doing your job
