    The 11-14 Mustangs are a great platform to build on especially if you want to drag race because of the solid rear axle. With relatively little investment it's easy to run low 11's! I don't daily my stang so I've only accumulated 23k on it so far 😊

    I bought my MT-82 2011 Mustang Gt at 190k miles. It's been two years, I put around 20k miles, and despite they're are some things that need to be worked on still. I bought this car (My kid dream car) knowing I was going to be underneath it.
    And I was absolutely shocked just how easy things are to get to. So far, everything I've repaired or bolted on I've done in my garage, never needed to go an shop.
    If your getting a S197, know your not only reliable ride, but your also getting a hell of an easy one to work on too; not to mention a very well documented one as well.
    If you have a problem, there's an forum, video, and article of someone who dealt with the same thing.

    Just bought a red 2014 GT Premium with 60k miles on it. 4k miles on the transmission and clutch, which was replaced last year, paperwork in hand. New exhaust installed a month before I bought it. Brakes and rotors done last year. Car has been gone through.
    These were always like a dream car for me. I have no intention of doing any big power mods, this is my daily driver, not a race car. All my mods will be cosmetic because it needs it. New spoiler, front splitter, new antenna, some interior clean up, bought a mini spare tire for it, install my amp and sub and probably replace the stock speakers as well. Still thinking about if I want to replace the stereo or not. New paint in a year or so, it is in poor shape in spots.
    What I love is the mix of classic and semi modern styles. I like the retro vibes and the lack of all the stupid nanny technology my previous car had.
    Hopefully it will last me the next ten years or more.

  • @SarntRexxo
    @SarntRexxo 8 місяців тому +5

    Another reason the coyote 5.0 is great is because on average other V8 engines in stuff like camaros, chargers, challengers, hellcats, etc. they only flow up to around 80-90% air into the engine. so if its a 6.2, it doesnt actually pull in 6.2 liters of air during its 4 stroke cycle.
    The 5.0 however, is able to consistently flow 110-115% of air into the engine, meaning it flows more than 5 liters of air in its 4 stroke cycle consistently, which doesnt seem like a big difference but that difference goes a very long way in comparison to stock vs stock all the way up to fully built vs fully built. This is one of the factors why the engine loves boost of any variety as well.
    Hence why so little modification and rarely having to open and work in the block is needed to beat, or at the very least, be on par with competitor brands which usually require full bolt ons and more to meet the same horsepower and performance numbers whereas the 5.0 doesnt.

      They're good transmissions. If you drive it normally you'll never see these problems. It's us guys that like to have our fun and race them that run into these problems. But SarntRexxo is right. If you wanna have some fun and not worry about getting locked out of gear, those are the upgrades you need. My transmission is still stock other than a 1 piece drive shaft. I get locked out at 2,3, and 5 if im pushing it. So far what ive noticed to solve this problem, and its not 100%. Dont shift at redline at full throttle, and make sure there is no engine load at all in the transmission when you press the clutch in for the shift. It wastes time if your racing. But your lockouts should be a little better.

    I have a 2013 Roush RS2, the best thing about these cars is, they are getting very affordable. The coyote engine and 6R80 auto transmission are fairly reliable up to 120-150k miles. After that I would highly recommend replacing the engine at least. Which can be done for about $8000. If you can find one at the right price it will make a very affordable car that will run like new for another 120k-150k miles trouble free once the engine has been replaced. You may at some point have to replace the transmission, but used low mileage versions are plentiful and can be had for $800-$1200. Overall I love my 2013. Its very fun to drive and is an excellent car.

      @Grizzly5.0 Got a 2012 GT auto with 140,000.....Watts Link rear end, Ford Racing Shocks and Struts, x pipe , GT 500 mufflers... next on the list is the one piece aluminum driveline, 4/10 gears ⚙️ and tune

      @Grizzly5.0 bought it with 32,000 on the Odometer in 2014, has 140,000. 5k oil change Royal Purple. Uses about 2 quarts between oil changes, 20W Synthetic is thin. This is spirited driving every day. Still on same alternator, starter, fuel pump. Replaced coil packs, just to do it .....all external components should be replaced at 100k for a piece of mind....however....nothing besides fluid changes, spark plugs , and 6 Piston Brembo Pads....It had an unknown tune on it when I bought it....dealer....it went wacky 1 day after 5 years... Ford returned it to stock. Probably Bama Street Tune next, install 4/10 With one piece driveline.....it's an auto 6 speed....raises into its power band, has enough top speed , building for sweeping canyons....it's D for drive and foot control

      @@Grizzly5.0 I was intranet flipping and came across a private sale in 2017. A 13 PW with 1800km. Yup 1800. Turned out to be a too good to be true story. That was true! Guy needed room for a Demon, and wanted shop room. I never truly realized how awesome these cars were at the time, but sure do now. Till death do us part, lol. Cheers Grizz, from Canada. P.S. Just saw a real one yesterday. Big, blond, and healthy with a wonderful coat :-)

    Hey man quick question, if you upgrade to e85 on an 2011 or newer you only need to upgrade to 47 lb injectors so why’d you upgrade the pump?

    • @Grizzly5.0
      @Grizzly5.0  Рік тому

      I’m not on e85 I upgraded to pump since the old was was wearing out and giving out less fuel, but I believe all you need is 47 lb injectors and a tune for e85

      It's mostly the clutch put a good twin disc clutch in it and an mgw shifter and change the fluid to the calimer cocktail (Google it if you don't know) you'll be fine if you actually know how to drive.

    80k miles? Lol, my 2007 4.6 just hit 200K miles. I’m sure the 5.0 is just as sturdy. Im still on a stock clutch, stock intake box, stock driveshaft. You’ll never blow that motor, unless you actively tried too 🤦🏿‍♂️😭

      @@Grizzly5.0 It still has life too it but, I feel it starting to slip slightly under low acceleration . For example; if say I’m in 3rd and try to push the gas to much. I can make a video of it tomorrow. I have plans to go On3 Turbo once i do upgrade the clutch, it’s the best budget build I could find to keep up with stock 5.0s 😭.

      @@Grizzly5.0absolutely no issues , only thing I’ve upgraded were 2 piece spark plugs to accel step colder plugs from American muscle and SR performance coil packs. I’ve heard you can put the Gen 1-3 coyote motors and f150 engines on stock TR3650 , with Power by Hour harness, that’s my plan if I ever blow the motor. It comes down to which chassis you like imo , I would like to keep my 07 and get a 13-14 Shelby GT500 one day or a s650 GT, but i think 13-14 GT look the best.
