I traded my 2018 1290 SAR in to Hebeler's last fall for a Husky 701. Maybe it was the one you rode. A little tip while riding the 1290 is put it in Sport Mode and shut off the Traction control and then you'll feel the true 160 HP. All in all it was a great bike but a little too tall and too top heavy for my liking especially off road.

It may have been your bike, they had two used models at that time. Since this ride I have become a KTM fanboy. No doubt that is a very strong engine. I do agree with you it is just too heavy for an ADV bike especially with my skill level. 701 is a fun bike I road one...can't remember if I posted the video. Ride safe and with peace.

I had a 790r for four years and got an 890 r last year. I think WOW is the best way to describe the riding experience in words on the 790r/890r

You do need to be forceful using the quick shifter. It's prone to neutrals in first and second if you're not giving it a positive shift. It's really nice at higher RPM's. This bike really rips if you wanna. More power than you need on the street. It's quite happy in the twisty's as well.

When I had mine I left it in off road mode. It was much more fun to ride for me.

Please test ride before you buy there are so many excellent motorcycles in this class. We are all different as is our bodies and preferences. You may prefer a Honda Talon. Ride safe.

Okay, you have the Multistrada which is an Adventure heavyweight. I have an Aprilia Tuareg 660 which is one of the best middle weight adv bikes, beats most bikes for offroad and on road in its class. Great bike, but only 75 dealers nationwide. My question would be, I want to upsize, Ducati V4 Rally or BMW 1250 GS Adventure if cost isn't an issue???

I had to make the same decision...I chose the Ducati as I did know if I would be buying another motorcycle and it would have to play multiple rolls as a bike, sport bike, tour, cruiser and ADV plus adaptive cruise and blind spot 170hp never grows old. The BMW GS 1300 really closes the gap on the tech as it has adaptive cruise and blind spot. If most of your riding is ADV and you have other bikes the BMW GS 1300 is probably a more rugged ADV bike...not as sporty but a solid bike. My Ducati my graduate to sport touring duties as my mid size ADV bike will handle mild trails. This is my honest opinion...competition is good things change quickly in the market. Ride safe if you have more questions please do so with a new comment so I see it.

Well that’s the big question I did have issues with my Husky which I’ll post. To me it’s well worth the risk 😊
