@@maraudermitchelli you do that! I’m waiting for the daily ”therapy ride” in the morning 😀 Have you experienced going into ghost neutral when quick shifting?
@@grindvik In 750 miles not often but probably 4 or 5 times. Maybe between 4th and 5th gear. I found that usually it's my error not relaxing my foot setting the shifter to the staged position and then not enough follow through on the shift..it's essentially ratchet and has to be reset. I've had some false neutrals even on my Ducati.
@@maraudermitchelli sounds about the right scenario for both of us when it occurs. So it makes my life a bit easier knowing that I’m not the only one 😂
I had a 2014 Super Duke R when they were first released. Traded it in 4 years ago and still miss it. KTM makes great bikes. Electronics wise, I think they only competitor is Yamaha. Take a look at the electronics on the MT-09 and MT-10. Good review, thanks!
I have to agree with you. You are absolutely right that’s why I like buying KTM’s. Yamaha are also great performing machines. I don’t know that I’ll ever buy one, but I have a lot of respect for them. Please ride safe and peace. Thank you for.
I really think this is the best looking midsize, naked bike on the market and possibly the best performing. Thank you for commenting. That means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy the video ride safe and peace.
How come you didn't get the 1390? In all fairness though this seems like a perfectly balanced bike power wise, I'd expect the 1390 to pull harder than my gen 3 Hayabusa since it's about 130 lbs lighter which is already way too much for the road above 7000 rpm
It's hard for me to use the right words as typically when i was young nothing had enough HP and I always wanted more...The 1390 just seemed so so over powerful for the way I ride on the street. If you've rode a 1290 or 1390 you know the torque is limitless, infinite, never ending, wheelie for ever I could go on and on. On my usually route I'd probably never shift beyond 3rd gear...maybe 4th. The 990 for me is just more exciting to ride because I can run the rpm and gears without riding like a complete jerk and placing me and others in harms way. If I was selecting a bike for the track of course the 1390 all day and twice on Sundays but I'm not there yet. Please let me know if I explained this sufficiently.
Good day, I'm in a dilemma, can you give me some advice? I'm from Russia) and here they sell KTM 990 with a warranty cheaper than MT09 non-SP, considering Yamaha has no warranty, KTM looks very attractive to me, but I haven't ridden a KTM before and their reliability scares me, what would you recommend buying, maybe you could suggest a completely different motorcycle?
No doubt the Yamaha has excellent quality and reliability with a Yamaha. You probably don’t need a warranty. All I can tell you is I am a huge fan of KTM and I put my money on KTM and I did buy an extended warranty with the motorcycle no doubt KTM has had issues with cams, so far my Husqvarna 901 Norton expedition has had no issues. I don’t think you can go wrong with either bike. I love my 990 Duke. No regrets whatsoever with this purchase especially during the summer. It’s my favorite bike to burn an hour upon ride safe and in peace. God bless you.
I have many videos to post on the accessories that I put on this motorcycle. Most of the accessories are strictly KTM. I do have Evo tech frame sliders on the bike. I cannot tell you how much I like this motorcycle. It’s a nice change from my bikes with fairings. We have a little bit of warm weather late fall in Buffalo, New York. I think I’m gonna ride it tonight please comment on my future videos probably be releasing them soon. Ride safe and in peace.
I know I know let’s hope not so far the Husqvarna Norton 901 expedition has been running great. I hear you, brother, but they do make a fantastic product. I hope KTM is taking care of those customers with the camshaft issue safe and in peace
Well that's hurtful Dean but I know how much you like my tractor videos. You made my day by commenting I hope you are well and having fun working your tractor. By the way you are probably right. Tractor safely and in peace...please continue to comment and thank you for keeping on point I know you mean well.
Great video and I can only agree what you say about the bike. KTM has done a great job with this bike
I love this bike...I may have to ride it tonight it's just so relaxing. Ride safe and in peace.

The headlight absolutely looks better in the flesh, and I was comparing it to the new MT 09 next isle over which is not appealing.

@maraudermitchelli I'm genuinely curious if they finally have it sorted with the new 990. I have an SM with 70k+ (the old 990) still going strong!
It's Mt 09
Duke 990 are faster and has more grunt then the linear Mt09✊🔥
I would totally believe that this bike has so much grunt. Thank you for the positive, ride safe and in peace.
@ great review of a mean orange Duke✊🔥
I think you’re better at running a tractor than you are riding a motorcycle it gets pretty boring seeing the same thing over and over and over
