I believe the dancers were from the Dunedin dance group, this was about twenty years ago. Excellent demonstration of Scottish Country Dancing. I recognise some old friends and I enjoyed seeing this.
stay here in Dunblane where Jim and another 3 of the band members stay sadly Jim & Billy has passed away but knew the them personally the other 2 guys still going strong (jim cleland & john sinton
I've been looking at this all afternoon: 'The Back O' Bennachie' in a wonderfully unusual four couple set version. It would have been nice to see them go on for a wee bit longer so that they finish in the same places as they started. Must learn this for my class
As a Scot, this is purely a stiff version of a traditional reel. Everyone looks like battery operated figures. I remember Jim Macleod & his band well, half the time they were somewhat over the drink limit most of the time.
This is one of the best dance bands in the world and long may the tradition of scottish country dance music keep on going strong.
