Long away I heard this Ghazel from Mehdi Hassan and I notice a great difference in the present rendition of the same by Ustad Ghulam Ali Saheb. In Tenor , Timber , Thrill , Style , Melody and overall Musical Effect I find great difference.
Mehedi sir & Ghulam Ali sir. They have their own Aura. We , at least me, can not, rather sbould not compare betn. These 2 legends! They are like "DHRUV" tara. Which has its own place, which is irreplaceable. My personal opinion!😊
Sumanji ka aur ek behtareen upload. Shayad raag Madhuvanti aur Shivranjani ka combination se is ghazal ka composition hua hai Tabla sangat bhi la jawab hai.. Khan Sahib Mehdi Hassan ke voice mein bhi bahut baar sune the yeh ghazal. Lekin ye Composition alag hai. Bahut hi achha laga mujhe. Shukriya Sumanji. Ghazal gayaki ko aam logon ke beech lokapriya karne ke liye apka ye niswarth prayas hum log kabhi nahi bhulenge. Jeete raho.

I remember hearing this ghazal live from late Ustaad Rafique Hussain . Truly a genuis composer who was adept in singing. Much of the popularity of this ghazal should be attributed to lyricist Alamtab Tishna sahab.
