When starting up the mpc with the startup disk it always starts blank/empty. You have to load it with drums via a floppy disk, scsi drive or record them.
Yo! From the top of my head, in the main screen, go with the cursor to the track you want to delete and press open window. From there you can delete. Peace!

It depends on your workflow. The 2000 is slower in compare to the mpc x
