Everyone here's going 'first', and I'm just sitting here wondering why on earth did he not take holy nova, which would have saved alot of his games

Lethanial Yeah, in the last game he even has the Shrink he took instead on hand and that might have helped around 30:50. Sure, Shrink had the possibility of synergy with Pain, but he did not manage to capitalize on that.

Lethanial Taking Shrink was correct in my opinion. It's a very strong and versatile card. Many arenas are lost due to having a bad start, so it was the safe choice.
True disaster was keeping that Mountain Giant hand, you never give yourself a glacially paced start in arena on purpose.
You will regret not choosing Holy Nova when enemy will rush you down
Why did Trump bother to pick Shrinkmeister over Nova? I mean I'm not saying I'm a pro or "teh best arena playar" but It's basically a 5 mana Consecrate with the added bonus of healing you AND your minions. What's not to love?
SBroproductions I guess it was one of his "I want to look edgy and not take the best pick" moments, like when he picks Fel Reaver or Gnomish Experimentor.
SBroproductions It's very simple: Trump can't plan ahead. Never could. Never learned. That's why he's such a mediocrity in constructed tournaments despite sinking hours and hours into laddering every day. To him, Holy Nova is just an overpriced Consecration. To a newbie, it looks like a "5 mana: deal 6-10 damage, heal 6-10 damage." To pros who never gave up on arena like Hafu and Kripp, it's 1) aoe; 2) anti-aggro; 3) a great combo card with the very cheap Northshire Cleric and the relatively cheap Velen's Chosen; 4) a fantastic defensive turn 5 play to follow up your Yeti, Lighspawn, Sen'jin, Hungry Dragon and so on.
Trump's a dummy. We know that all too well.
He kinda wanted to point out that nova isn't far superior then shrinkmeister like most people think because if you don't have the control of the board it is just a 1 more mana consecration and shrinkmeister is a top tier 2 drop like power of the wild in druid, it is close but I would still choose nova unless I really badly lacked 2 drops.

sebastjan krek Agreed. And in this case, Trump ended up with only 4 2-drop minions, so it seems like Shrinkmeister is a viable decision. Better than nova? That's personal preference, but certainly not as one-dimensional as some people think.
In my opinion, Holy Nova vs. Shrinkmeister isn't just a question of straight card quality, it's about fulfilling roles in the deck. Holy Nova would does something nothing else in Trump's deck could have -- hit multiple minions with one card and regain lost tempo. It also combos well with Velen's Chosen, which is already a high pick in Priest. And considering how much Trump likes to distribute damage across his minions so no one has to die, you'd think he'd value a board-wide friendly heal higher.
Yes, Holy Nova costs more than Consecration and does less than Flamestrike, but just because Trump doesn't think it does its job well doesn't mean that the job doesn't sometimes need to get done.
He did pick it about mid way and he was hurting for two drops I can see the pros and cons of either
How can you talk shit about Holy Nova then try to get 3 Light spawns? He wanted one over Thoughtsteal, but had too many 4s thankfully

I never pick lightspawn, its crap if you are behind on board, Screw you over immediately if your opponent have a silence, and not even much better than other 4 drops.

The chance it fuck over is too high, especially when priest early game isn't that good.
"I'm going to give this a pessimistic outlook and guess 6". Is that pessimism, Trump? A realistic guess would be 4 wins. Pessimistic would be 1-3.

It's just that his deck is so incredibly bad, 3-5 wins is the most likely outcome. 6 is probably the luckiest outcome.
WTH WHY DOES HE HATE ENHANCO MECHANO SO MUCH?? Seriously enhanco is 10x better than mountain giant for priest in my opinion and also really fun to play.

Also bashing him for the shrink master pick, dude goes 12 wins few times in a week, makes one questionable pick and you are loosing your shit, your logic poeple is unbeliveable.
Maybe not everyone has every card in the game like trump. Add ridiculous amounts of rng involved

It's really funny that in most situations the Holy Nova he didn't pick over Shrinkmeister would have won him the game, instead of sitting in his hand.

It is almost always worthwhile to take one to regain board control in arena. It would've been a snap-pick for me, unless I had cards like Cabal or Madness drafted, or plenty of early game buffing going on.
Literally dont understand the pass on nova at all. Nova is gonna be priests only board clear in arena most of the time due to light bomb being an epic and aucheni/circle possibly not being available. I guess it was trump's ''I want to take a mediocre pick over an actual card'' like he does with Fel Reaver and Experimentor.

Then why am I watching it? Also, I agree that Holy Nova is not as good as people think it is; if you really need a 5 mana consecrate as a priest on turn 5, something's probably gone horribly wrong. And adding 'restore 2 health to all friendly characters' does not add too much value to that card; if it did, then you'd be able to argue that Darkscale Healer is a good to great quality card...but let's be honest, Darkscale Healer sucks.
theStonerKid69 The thing is you need AoE board clear eventually and Nova is just the best option for priest in Arena (you wouldn't pick circle and lightbomb is situational). Plus Priest has synergy with Northshire when healing minions.
Right like how many injured minions are you going to have on a losing board turn five and you have to have holy nova because you are being over run ... Holy nova is the second worst aoe removal in the game
Aussy Welch As priest you don't have a better option to AOE clear, there are plenty of moments where as Paladin you have to Consecrate Turn 4, but because you don't have a consecrate as Priest you have to use Holy Nova instead. It's either use sub-par AoE clear (which sometimes has really good value) or just die to 1/2 health minions. Every class needs a way to catch up on the board when behind, it just so happens when facing a lot of small creatures, Priest has a harder time than others in arena. Holy Nova when even drawing one card is insane value because otherwise you'd have to spend 2 mana to heal otherwise. I'd gladly pay 1 mana to heal 2 health to a creature and myself and draw a card over consecrate.
You can easily plenty of opportunities in this video where Shrinkmeister would be useless (as it's a Win-More card when optimal) but Holy Nova would have been devastating to the opponent.
No SW death really seems to be the downfall of this arena run. Priest lacks the proper removal without it.

Ummmmm first pick how do you not Enhance-o-Mechano??? Mountain Giant often is topdecked in the late game and then a dead card, but the mechano can save a lot of games even if you only have one or two minions.
To bad you didnt have some type of removal card...I don't know, but something that hit all minions and can change tempo of a game?

GriffinSword Holy Nova is a good card, but there is a limit around 3 after which it starts to become a poor card.
I feel like taking Mountain Giant over Enhance-O is a worse decision that Shrink vs. Noba.

Again, another terrible choice and statement: Shrinkmeister over Holy Nova...OMFG Holy Nova is one of best AoE in the game and a MUST AoE removal for priest, particularly in arena...but you "no", you have to do the *original* choice to make people believe you know something more they don't...just like when you chose the stupid gnomish experimenter over kezan mistic...omg i feel sick everytime i think about that...

People think holy nova is good because its... AoE. AoE does not win games, it turns them around, usually... Which can win games(see: Flamestrike). Of course, there are better and worse AoEs, but having any form of reliable AoE can be really useful. AoEs are better when behind, and you WILL fall behind sometimes. Then, AoE can come to the rescue.

I personnally thinks velen's chosen is almost the best card to pick every time you are able to , its almost the priests Flamestrike not because its an op card itself ( its very good ) but because the priest hero power allow him to keep healing it over and and over again , my best Priest runs are the one with several velen's heavy light game , and several tier 2 minions
