This is a very helpful video!!! I am a recent F1 fan, and have always heard that it is impossible for "normal people" to attend these races, so I appreciate the information. Thank you and keep it up!
Really great video, watched the Montreal video as well. I would love to go to the Montreal GP as my first F1 event as it's in my home country, BUT the hotel prices are WILD. Any recommendations?
Interesting video, I agree with most of the content, but please note that not all circuits allow you to bring in your own food. If possibke I do always bring in my food, as the prices are usually high and the lines are very long. Also I recommend to bring a small portable FM radio, as on most tracks the comment of the loudspeakers around the track is also broadcast on FM radio. I always have one on me plus earphones and ear muffs. The frequency varies at each track, but will be easy to find yourselves. All F1 circuits have live commentary in the local language(s) plus in English (often by Mr Bob Contanduros, hè is very good and has a very long history as a F1 commentator, he travels ro most circuits). Also when staying in a non coveren grand stand or in a general admission zone, make sure you can withstand each type of weather: either the hot sun, rain, wind, cold etc Just a few tips from a F1 fan whom has been so far to 70 Grand Prixs in 13 different countries (since the year 1971) Enjoy your visit!
Great review but I would also suggest pre-season testing as a cheap or budget friendly experience. With reasonable price you can also experience paddock or even team hospitality. It is often overlooked but you can really feel the truth f1
Great advice, especially when you mention Fridays as the best day to have a cheap experience. Most tracks have roving grandstands too, so you can still move around and enjoy cars hitting multiple types of corners!
I just attended my first GP in Canada and am pretty sure I just was super lucky to find affordable tickets and stay only a month prior. From my experience, I would definitely recommend bringing food and staying in a Hostel. You meet people from all over and it's considerably cheaper than hotels as well as putting you more in the center of the action. Also, get a card for the subway or take the ferry to the track. It was absolutely incredible and I'm already trying to budget for the next one!
@@GlobeDecker oh thanks for the tip! The only sports I really follow hardcore is basketball. I’m a big Raptors fan so while F1 looks really cool it’s kinda daunting to try and learn so much about it so I can really feel invested
2nd year watching F1 and I'm obsessed. I've been looking at attendng Hungary as its the most affordable from my research. I would love to hear more about your experience there.
Budapest is typically one of the cheaper Eastern European cities to fly to since a number of budget carriers are based there. Airbnb's in the city are really affordable, but I know they do camping around the circuit during the race. The drive to/from the city on race days is a serious chore since the toads around the circuit are narrow country roads, so I'd try to avoid driving and camp if you can. I know they run a number of extra busses from the city for the race but can't help you with the details on that. I bought my tickets to the 2022 Hungarian GP through GP Ticketshop and they were great. Seats in the "Red Bull Tribune" right at the end of the grid and final corner, amazing views and were very affordable, If I remember correctly, they were around 220 euro for me and 20 for my 12 year old son. Hope this helps a bit, LMK if you have further questions.
Great Video! Super helpful! I am planning to go to the first race in Austria this coming July. I have tickets on T3. I am now trying to decide on what campground to pick at the track. Do you have any recommendations? I will be most likely renting a caravan to stay in at the site.
Thanks! I had tickets at T9 so stayed at camping pink. It was great, had power, good facilities, a few pop up restaurants & bars, and was only about a 10 minute walk to the gate. If you are at T3, looks like Turquoise, Beige, Blue or Pink would all be around a 10-15 minute walk for you. If you have a caravan, be sure to reserve a spot with electricity. If you camp, I'd strongly recommend buying all your food, beverages, and supplies before you get to the Red Bull Ring. You are not going to move your vehicle once you park, and taking the shuttle bus to the Spar is a pain. Have a great time!
Super helpful video! You said you walked to one of the races, which ones would you say you can walk to? (Transport is the bane of my existence when it comes to f1 races 😅)
Thanks! I walked to the race in Baku, Azerbaijan since it's a city circuit, there are tons of hotels within very short walking distance. Also I rented a campervan and camped at the Austrian GP, and then walked to and from the race. Finally the Canadian GP in Montreal is accessible by subway, so I stayed in town then took the train to the race. If you want to avoid driving you should stick to city circuits (Singapore, Baku, Monaco, Vegas, etc) or go to a race where you can camp (Austria, Hungary, Silverstone, etc) But keep in mind that some races are far less attended and transport is a lot easier. Saudi, Bahrain, and Qatar I've heard are much smaller crowds than the Europe and Americas races. So traffic isn't as much of an issue. Hope this helps!
Hey i plan to go to the Hungarian GP 2025, would you recommend this race? Can someone recommend the best seats under the price of 300 Euros in this race?
I went to the Hungarian GP in 2022. Airbnb's in the city are really affordable, but I know they do camping around the circuit during the race. I have the unfortunate disadvantage of living in South Africa. Any tips on getting cheaper plane tickets, improving our currency or getting the FOM/FIA to put a race in Africa?! 😂 Jokes aside. Good video keep it up :)
Not much I can do about those! I've read a bit unofficial the F1 blogs about how the FIA are really pushing to have a race in Africa, and South Africa seems like the most likely candidate. Fingers crossed! I visited South Africa about 15 years ago and LOVED IT. I'd like to go again and a new F1 race would be the perfect excuse to convince my wife! Thanks for the comment!
@GlobeDecker haha, definitely a good reason to come. when a race gets announced for SA I will come back to this comment and wait for a video from your channel.
With live events that's for certain! I have an acquaintance who wanted to take her daughter to see Taylor Swift. Even when including the airfare and hotel, it was cheaper for them fly to the UK to see the show than to go to the performance that was an easy drive from their home.

That is a brilliant suggestion! I had no idea they did hospitality during testing.
I appreciate your comment, thanks!

Yes! Roving grandstand tickets, are be a great way to broaden your experience.without much additional cost. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks! Jealous that you're going to the Vegas race! Last year's was amazing. Enjoy!
I know almost nothing about f1 yet I watched this whole video lol interesting stuff!
Thanks! Watch a few episodes of Drive to Survive on Netflix and go to a race and you'll become a fan...fast!
