How to Add B-ROLL to Your Video in Descript the Easy Way

- The easiest way to add B-Roll in Descript (extra video footage meant to enhance your main 'A-Roll' video) and music to your footage or composition in Descript. We look at how to import and use stock media, add it in Descript inside scenes but I'm providing my favorite way to add B-roll.
We also look at adjusting the beginning and end of clips, using the Slip Tool to alter the span of the video/music clip to fit the selection.
If you are working on a sales video or you start with a simple narration, this method is the quickest and easiest to fill your video with B-roll, stock footage, extra images, logos, etc.

Excellent! Thank you SO MUCH! :)
You're very welcome!
Your videos are so helpful for descript
Glad you like them!
Thanks for sharing. I'm new to Descript & this was very helpful.
Thanks you, glad to help. How are you getting accustomed to the new interface?
@@Graphicious Since I'm new, it's been easier than folks who have been using it longer, but it's more confusing when videos show older menus. My brain turns off some with FinalCutPro, so I'm glad to have Descript despite the learning curve. I'm glad to have found you since I just posted my first UA-cam video, and I underestimated the learning curve.
Yes, it is a huge blow now to all videos, courses, creators who made videos on it because the interface has changed drastically. I'm already working on re-recording my entire course (10 hours!) and redoing some of the UA-cam videos.
Go Cristi!
That was ALL so helpful! Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you Cristi, very helpful. 👍🏻
You're so welcome!
Awesome 👍
Thanks 🤗
thanks!
No problem!
thank you! what I'd love to find is a way to select the whole thing and ask AI to pick the parts that need B-roll and add it automatically. Is it possible?
if not, can I select a sentence and ask Descript to automatically add a B-roll based on the content?
thx!
I understand what you mean but Descript isn’t doing that now
@@Graphicious thanks for taking the time to answer!
No problem.
How do you add B roll with no audio and have that clip play while the audio from A roll is playing over it ….is that even possible? I don’t want to have to record a voiceover on these B roll clips that I’m adding to my project. I want my A roll audio to just play over them the entire time …hope this makes sense.
Yes, you can, this is exactly what's shown in this video. If you make a selection first and then you drag the B-roll on top of that selection, it will add the B-roll playing over the A-roll, as a separate layer, so it won't replace your audio.
