I can’t be the only one who is keeping their fingers crossed for no injuries every time McKennie, Gio and Adams play, right?? Seeing McKennie playing well, Adams on his way back to his usual self and ‘maybe’ some hope for Gio is great to see… don’t want to jinx it! I’d say let’s not get too crazy on Ledezma. Glad to see him play well, but a short spell of good form deserves some caution before calling him up over Scally or even some other options. But great to see how the ISMNT has so positively impacted PSV this season! 🇺🇸 Merry Christmas, gents!
Stock up for Cardoso for the goal. Though, I still think that he needs to prove himself for the national team and the November Window was supposed to be Cardoso's time to start; but Tessman took the USMNT by storm with how well he performed for us. I hope that more of our prospects consider Ligue 1 as a league to go to to compete in a top 5 league, but also not as drastic a jump as the Premier league lets say. I mean, for the Tillmans, Pepi's, and even Trusty someday hopefully goes to Ligue 1. Cheers.
We’ve got a nice contingent there now with Balogun, McKenzie, Tessmann, Wiley, and I guess Sabbi. Definitely making the league more appealing to watch from an American perspective and it’s not as big of a jump, you’re right. It’s unfortunate that Johnny got hurt so early into the first leg against Jamaica, that was a great chance for him to prove himself under Poch.
Aaronson is actually 4th among the Leeds field players in terms of minutes; however, he is behind only three of the the defenders. He has the most minutes among midfielders and forwards, which is what I think you were focusing on. Fortunately or unfortunately, I think he has found his level as a good championship player. He has a solid if limited skill set, a tireless engine, and is durable. A perfect backup for the usmnt. I'm really glad I found your show.
Exactly, he’s one of the only USMNT players who actually seems like he can play week in week out and not have problems with it. Perfect supersub. Appreciate the support!
Stock up for Weston McKennie - praying that the muscle fatigue injury stays away. He’s dangerous on the pitch as anyone when healthy. Hope the team has given him his parking spot and locker back - it’s the least they can do. Stock down for Peter Bosh. Thought the man had finally come to his senses but I guess not. During a previous game (uefa?) when Tilman scored two goals and Pepi came on for the winner, the coaching staff flew off the bench to celebrate except for Bosh who sat there as if someone had died- my heart sank for Pepi at that moment.
How can it be stock down for Bosz when de Jong had a great game? As far as Bosz not celebrating, I think that's his personality. It had to do with the pressure of the situation and the improbability of the comeback. He was outwardly portraying that it was not so shocking because he has a team of winners. I do agree that Pepi should be given more time this year, however. But PSV's priority seem to be getting de Jong going rather than seeing where Pepi's hot streak takes them. I have a feeling if de Jong weren't a Dutch and club legend Pepi would be playing a lot more this year. The fact remains, however, that Pepi is still quite weak on offense outside the box.
@ Totally agree! Just disappointing that after Malik scored the third goal in the 63rd minute, let’s get the subs in. If he wanted to get DeJong going, he could have played him the previous game. Pepi needs to develop and that won’t happen if he’s on the bench against the better teams. Sucks to be behind a Dutch player!
I just hope Pepi gets a chance in a few big games, doesn’t even need to be all of them. Luuk played well against Feyenoord but Pepi is having a better season in way fewer minutes.
Hi Dear Yuri and Hi Dear Braden Mc Kennie is so great USA player for me and he gives more contributions to Juventus FC.🥰😍🤗❤🤍💙💯 Merry Christmas to You Both.🎅🤶🧑🎄🗽⛪☃⛄🎄🎆🎇🎉🎊🎈🎁
Hajduk coach wasn't talking about Pukstas. He was talking about Rakitic and Livaja. At the beginning of the season, Hajduk brought in Perisic, Livaja, and Rakitic (all current or former Croatian national team players), hoping to challenge for the title. In all honesty, they have been very disappointing. All had very bad attitudes in practice, and this is why Perisic was shipped to PSV at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately, this meant fewer minutes for Rokas. That is why his season has been underwhelming. Hopefully, he can play himself into form.
That’s probably right, but it’s pretty well known that Pukštas had transfer interest in the summer and Hajduk held out for an asking price that ultimately wasn’t met. Now he’s stuck in a bad situation where he needs to leave for his career, but for a much lower fee than it would’ve been last window.
CB situation scary. We are still relying on Ream who isn't going to be a better version of what we saw at the 2022 World Cup and Richards going to have fewer starting opportunities at Palace after that poor performance.
Still can’t decide what the bigger problem area is, that or GK. Need some of the U20s to progress quickly, recruiting Anrie Chase wouldn’t hurt either.
@@AMERICANULTRASTALK I think we have a good chance with Chase. He gave an interview that he avoided the J-League because he didn't see eye-to-eye with the Japanese culture of the league. He also lived in the US from ages 3 to 12, and he said he bonded with a coach at Stuttgart over the fact that they were both American. And he certainly is a lot higher on the US CB depth chart than the Japanese CB depth chart. On the other hand his soccer pedigree is entirely Japanese. He didn't start playing until he had moved to Japan. He's still going to be pretty young and raw at the time of the World Cup, however. Even if he committed to the US it's not clear how important he would be to a 2026 World Cup run.
Yuri: you had the perfect summary of Joe scally. We don't tune in to watch him if there are other choices because he is unremarkable. He's likely to continue to be our backup right back, which is okay. But as a starter...no.
Ledezma is interesting. His defense is questioned, reasonably, and it's pointed out that he's more of an attacking player. However, we said the same thing about Dest. And while Dest is not a world-class defender, he has improved that part of his game. Maybe ledesma will too. I think ledesma is more of a right-wing back ultimately, but as an attacking right back , he could replace scally as the backup of Dest.
@@stephencoons7879 Sure if you want to beat Concacaf minnows and get exposed in the World Cup, replace Scally with Ledezma. We have such defensive vulnerabilities because of our CB situation and people want to replace our best defensive right back with more offensive options. It's telling that people are looking for right backs from wing backs playing in Belgium or fill-ins on the far-and-away strongest team in the Eredivisie. Somehow if Scally doesn't win every 1v1 in space against all opposing wingers he's done terribly. Have they forgotten what it looks like to have a real defensive liability playing fullback? It means the opposing team can just dump the ball to the winger and everyone holds his breath. All quality wingers become Rafael Leao. I don't understand the hate towards Scally. Is everyone dreaming big? Yes Scally is never going to be wanted by Bayern or Liverpool or Dortmund because he doesn't have the qualities they want in a fullback. But the US are never going to be in a position to play like those teams against the teams we would have to beat to get to a semifinals in the 2026 World Cup. Or are people still wedded to the Berhalter era where the fullbacks were the main attacking impetus of the team? It'd be great to have an elite right back. Maybe Dest can become that. But if we don't have one the wrong thing to do is to look for offense from the position among players not being tested defensively with their clubs. Maybe it's a grass is always greener situation. We will get a better idea of Dest's defense when he again transfers to a team in a top five league. With the way PSV play, even the few games that they have against top competition in the Champions League don't give a good idea of Dest's defensive prowess. It's way too small a sample size. Week in and week out in the Eredivisie, Dest was more of a second winger than a fullback. It definitely does look like his decision making for when to go forward and when to hold back has improved, though.
He’s 5’9, that’s really short for a CB. Don’t see it. I get that we have an abundance of CDMs and a lack of CBs but that doesn’t mean we can just change all their positions. I’m very optimistic about Banks though, he’s a real talent.
Scally has always been very solid for usmnt and is a starter for Monchengladbach for a reason. Where's this hate coming from? Just because y'all prefer dest doesn't mean you gotta play down what Scally been doing and thats being a consistent solid defending full back in the bundesliga. Dest gonna have to earn that spot back
How is it hating to say that he’s nowhere near Dest’s level and that he hasn’t really had a good season? Gladbach are a pretty inconsistent team and he’s one of their worst starters. The main concern we have is that he’s been in the same spot for 4 years and hasn’t really gotten better.
@ I really don’t see how Dest is so good when he’s barely in the team and injured. Availability is the best ability and scally is consistent and like I said he’s been very solid for USA he already showcased he does the work defensively
@ also who cares if he’s been in the same spot it’s the bundesliga and he’s getting minutes. I shouldn’t say y’all were hating but I feel you are down playing scally and you both admitted you don’t tune in to his games. He played solid for usmnt in copa
great show guys!

I worry about injuries anytime I watch any of our players play, seems like they come with the flag 😂

Dortmund were playing with 10 men. It's not a surprise to me that Gio Reyna wasn't put into the game sooner.
True, but do you think he would’ve been brought on earlier if they still had 11? I kind of doubt it.
