My parents only used Parker 51s. I had my mother’s 51 from 1958 which I recently gave to my Niece to use. I also had my dad’s 1958 51 desk set which my son now has. Both still write beautifully. I have a 75 ciscell (?). I purchased while in the US army in 1972. It has a dent in the cap, but it’s a beautiful writer, so smooth.
Would never trade a Parker Jotter for Mont Blanc or any other brand name however sound and prestige their name may be. The blue color, democratic price, ease of use and the light weight. Had one since the high school. I think it's timeless and indestructible. The existence of Jotter is perhaps one of the main reasons I write anything with a pen and not computer alone in this digitized age. If it wasn't for Parker pen I doubt I would ever need the experience of writing in the age of computers. This pen also trains your handwriting in a disciplinary way. My precioussssssss.
I love my 149 but for special occasions, well let's get real, I bring out my vacumatic parker 51. My father loved his so much he named me after the brand.

I taught the arrow logo comes from the shape of the Parker Jotter refills. Because the tip looks like an arrow head and the blue plastic on the top looks like feathers. But the arrow clip is older than the jotter… Is it only my mind that’s blowing up right now, or is this a new Mandela effect??

But brand name is still alive, and doing well, only trouble is, their Calligraphy range exists in Vector range instead of most classic ranges. Vector range proven to got bust at threading area where ink cartridge shelter unit connect to nib unit, after extensive usage and end up broken pen. I wouldn't mind spending decent amount for the Parker pen with 1.5mm or 2.0mm Calligraphy nib. Now a days I am end up doing DIY with Parker IM series with Vector 1.5mm Calligraphy nib. Wish Parker should make pen interchangeable nibs provided choice of nib.

I barely dared to use my PARKER 5TH Ingenuity Black Rubber CT, mostly have it displayed in my pen case along with my other pens. At room temperature or air-conditioned, the rubber has melted and it feels sticky and it's very smelly. I've sent it to Parker Singapore and even their service centre can't fix this - the rubber just keeps disintegrating. Can Parker head office help?

I had picked up a Parker Urban Fountain pen a couple of months ago from WHSmith when they were selling them for £15 GBP. It's a great writer and I love pairing it with the Blue Black ink.
I want to convey the fact that parker pens in india are made of substandard quality and overpriced. The pens sold in india are not sold outside India. The collection of pen models are disrepute to the prestige of parker brand. Parker in india must upgrade it's product range and lower the price to remain a premium pen brand.
But at the same time, if you have the $$ and patent the idea and at the right time, your basically guaranteed $$ for the future ? Especially if you have already made a name for yourself, which includes a lot of hard work proving yourself, these days its all mass produced, even in france, which is all shipped overseas, i still have my parker pens which were made in England ?
I own a number of vintage Parker fountain pens, but the newer genus (apart from the Centennial) are poorly constructed, & posess a shorter lifespan. I note from other commentators that they consider this brand to be the ultimate; I'd have to disagree - but at the same time, I do not decry those early models - they were solidly built. It is a shame that such prominence no longer delivers that original quality...

I'm restoring several Vacumatic pens right now and every time I do, I am so impressed with what they did in the 30's that still holds up today.

A Parker ballpoint ruined my exam papers in 1977. Blots and smudges it made me cry. I switched to Papermate and have never had a smudge since.
