Salamat sa akong mga supporter! Actually I don't think that people were stealing the full size fish. I have security all night and this is a small community, you do not want a reputation as a thief, you will never work again The main problem was poor technical management at the start which poisoned the water and the fish. That is probably where I lost the fish. Also said technician might well have taken a few of the juveniles. That technician is no longer here. He is also the reason it took so long to harvest! Additional labour costs and more diesel for the pump! I probably bought double the feeds I needed. They were all used in the pond, but unnecessarily. A lot of waste. Again, technicians who don't actually know a thing. Again, not a problem now. High costs and then a fall in price were not a good combination! Next time will be OK because these issues will be solved!
Nice learning, Kumander! You can do it. Try to start vlogging your farming. You can watch what happened along the way and earn as well once you have lots of views and subs.
i admire this guy at age 28, Kumander D. He admits on his mistakes & learned from it. Man, you're living my dream. I am still on this 9-5 job but hopefully i can start my own farm. Kudos ! Kumander D
It is good that you are learning from this process and hopefully getting more confident. This is a very challenging thing to do even for locals. All the best brother! Still young and so much more ahead of you. Today's loss is like paying for an expensive college degree.
NEXT HARVEST IS AUGUST. TILAPIA!!!! I THINK THIS TIME WE CAN HELP HIM ROCK IT!!!!! I believe that with his perseverance and learning and the community... They can create a successful local business! POWER ON!
Don't skip ads so Kulas can buy kumander daot's Bangus! What an inspiring story. Unfortunately in this time of pandemic, everyone is affected. But knowing people supporting you helps cushion the impact. Power on Kulas!

Good karma is on its way. Be strong and always smile. We are here to support you commander.
"Failure is a necessary part of business, so it's incredibly important for all entrepreneurs and business leaders to know when to call it a day, learn from their mistakes, and move on, fast," Richard Branson--- who is estimated to be worth $4.2 billion today,
The staff of the Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital - Cateel would like to thank Kulas and a couple of his followers for the bangus. This is the first time ever that we were blessed in this manner and to think that we are a part of this awesome story of Anselm's courage and resilience makes the gift even more special. We love you Kulas
I can see Anselm's frustration, I feel bad for him. But I know he will bounce back surrounded and supported by good loyal friends like you Kyle and company and some good local people.
Hello Guys! I have so much admiration to you all! your friendship is amazing supporting each other. You have kind, good hearts - Kulas, Kumander Daot, the rest of your group. I hope the fispond of Kumander Daot will prosper! You are amazing guys!
Just like the farmers who also lost a lot because of this pandemic. Here we see how hard it is to harvest the bangus, people everywhere work hard to survive. So everytime we eat fish, let's remember them and thank them, the farmers, too. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win. That's life.
Seeing Kumander Daot's unhappy face due to his lost made me so sad...In spite of his lost, his generous heart is so inspiring that he shows concern and support for the hospital frontliners. The only help I can do right now is to pray for him and for those who has watched this vlog and his friends' to support his cause... GOD BLESS YOU MORE Kumander Daot, Kulas and circle of friends..
what an act of kindness kulas. donating some fish to the frontliners, is an act that cannot be easily forgotten. thank you for the love and care to us, Filipinos. and to the ones who donated. keep on spreading the love and good vibes. GOD BLESS PHILIPPINES! power on!
bcoz you're kind & good......you will have an abundant blessings along the way kumander D.......you may have not succeed for now but it will be an abundant success in the future kulas say.........salig lng kumander D
Never give up Commander. Times are tough but it isn't gonna stay that long. Times will be better again just keep going Startimg a business is not easy but with a determined spirit and a positive mind, i am sure you will get it through Smile and just smile.
Give all the support Cmdr. Daot needs. Worthy of a guy who has an uplifting/genuine spirit despite the current inevitable drawbacks of running a business now. Profit turnover is not commensurate with the present costs.
Bangus farming is very challenging and many people have lost money in this investment. To Anselm, if you intend to continue, please ensure that you get expert advice from the local Bureau of Fisheries. Speak to other bangus business owners to get advice. You will need to be more scientific in your approach.
I think in the 1st harvest it is impossible to get the 100 percent you invest RoI I think it takes 3 to 4 then you will see youre profit Fish pond is already there ...fingerlings is already in your fishpond so need patience
Kyle please tell commander daut never to surrender its part of learning process if he need an expert advice in all aspect of this business i am very happy to help him. I have a staff who is a fishery graduate and also onw a fish po d producing bangus and crabs..
You are such a blessing to each other. Lord pls give them a lot of customers especially those people who wants to donate. IN JESUS NAME, AMEN!!! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍🛶🛶🛶
Respect and snappy salute to Commander Daot! Business is like gambling, especially in these trying times. God knows you have a good heart and he will return your loss double or even triple.
No matter what life can throw at you which sometimes sucks, Commander D is incredible and deserves a break. He is hands on and learning from this experience, which will make him tough and successful in the future. Everybody’s exhausted including Robertson but it was a fairly successful day. Hope for the best on August. Thank you to Ramon, Judy and to you Kyle. Support and Power on!
I firmly believe Kulas that Anselm will succeed. With his perseverance, determination, and kind heart, anything is possible! It may be painful but it's part of doing a business. It's a slow and painful process but he can bounce back stronger and wiser. Power on Commander Daut! God bless you even more.
Your dedication to making a difference in people's lives is commendable especially in remote area like Cateel. Upon watching Kyle's video, many viewers and subscribers like me, were empathetic and sympathetic of your loss. Many of the viewers offered consolation, and words of wisdom how to operate your fish farm effectively and efficiently - heed their advise. Your business is now in the open and I am sure, you will be getting a lot of customers. Your next harvest is in August, you should start contacting customers now to give you an idea who your solid customers are. A foreigner like you came to the Philippines and provided job in the community is impressive. Your fish farm location is perfect. You need a reliable vehicle with built in refrigeration to keep your fish fresh when transporting them from one town to another. Closely screen the people you're hiring. WATCH YOUR EXPENSES, that is the CULPRIT IN BUSINESS. Consider yourself as one of the employee and give yourself SALARY for personal use and treat as part of the expenses. At the end of the harvest and fish are sold, your RECEIVABLE should be bigger than your expenses, a measurement if you profited or not. I grew up in a business minded family - Mom & Pop business selling variety of merchandise in Benguet. We were peddlers too. When town fiestas are in trend, we go to different towns to sell old inventories and slow moving merchandise. Everybody is asked to help during those times. When my mother and my siblings moved to America, I enrolled in accounting class, that's where I learned the complexity of running a business. I learned that you have to have plan, type of product you want to sell, location, type of customers, where to get your inventories, where to get capital. While watching the video, a question came to mind - I was wondering, where's your family, your wife? I credit you for communicating with the people in their tongue language - a plus but at least you must have someone in your family to act as second set of eyes and ears to guide you in case there is miscommunication. If I heard it right, you experienced people took advantage of you -I am not surprised, being a foreigner, you are an easy target. Business all over the world is suffering, you're not alone. How generous of you to donate fish to the hospital front liners - very kind. Good news is, you found a friend in Kyle's capacity, along with Kumar, and the talented - Jack of all trade Mike, Mama Rose and the rest. Video is a mixture of inspiration, discomfort and disheartening at the same time, an eye opening to everyone that the World is like one giant family, when one is hurting we all come together as one unit moving to one direction - AHMAZING!
Kumander Daong, I'm really proud of you for being a humble person. You grew up from wealthy country, but able to live in remote area, able to speak visaya and especially very friendly to Filipinos. I've learned something from you.
All the bad experience will lead you to the best situation and booming business in the future. Hats off Commander D 🤟🏻 Thank you Kulas, Kumar, Mike and the rest of the team for being with him. Sending virtual hug♥️ Power on 🤟🏻💪🏻
Commander D, Failure is often the first necessary step toward success. If we don't take the risk of failing, we won't get the chance to succeed. To Kulas thank you are an inspiration and BecomingFilipino community a BIG SMILE to all.
paulerwyn erwyn You must mean EXPORT, not IMPORT. To import is to buy from other place. To export is to sell outside your territory, especially to another province or country.
Bless your heart for doing what you are doing despite of all the challenges you are facing. I hope you will be rewarded for your kindness and continuous trust to those people trying to help you.
"CELEBRATE your MISTAKES" a teacher once said. You are still learning, later on you will have more skills and knowledge ask around from experts. Heads up and keep moving on. Be Strong Captain D ( D as Drama Queen)
Bro. Commander D, I'm Filipino-American who did the same farm business development in Orion, Bataan. We went through the same struggles and negative experiences as you have. I feel your pain utol (Bro), and I am so sorry for the negative treatment you have to endure from some dorks of the Philippines, and they are giving the good Filipinos a bad name. Your negative especially to a real FOREIGNER like you who has a Heart of a Pinoy and showing your brave humanity. I SALUTE YOU BRAVEHEART (William Wallace) GOD BLESS YOU🙏🤙👍❤🇸🇽🇺🇸🏴
life goes on kum D..thats business a loss is what make you strong and smart for your next challenges..gudluck and godbless.keep the good vibes and inspire more people.
Sir Anselm , even if you dont profit at this time , my salute on you: Donated to hospital. There are people like you I admire. Btw , a friend of mine once said , a CPA & Business mgmt. : in 1st yr you cant declare your winning or lossing at once, wait for 5 yrs. So as much as possible, ur capital is good for 5 yrs , whatever profit comes dont use for other purposes for a while , either deposit or for that business alone. So make sure also you have other means of income to live by until that business is stable. True enough it works .... so dont lost hope. 😎
Can’t wait to watch this piece from California!!! I feel bad for you Anselm and your business! Don’t worry you will bounce back! Just keep on smiling and always stay positive!!!
Hats off to Commander D! Even though he didn't make a profit but the fact that he continues to do his thing in spite of his situation, really speaks volumes about his character. So just continue doing what you are doing and you will eventually succeed in the end. 👍👌🤘
Maayong buntag Kulas. I know the feeling as a son of a farmer (in Mati, Dvo Or.) because you feel very excited about the harvest but then again you don't know the outcome (profit). buyers/middlemen will ripped you off big time. An example, back in 2014 or '15 my cousins were ready to harvest mangoes more than 2 tons and the buyers/middlemen offered them P35/kl (good quality) but the real price in Davao was P45/kl. The worst was after 2 days of harvesting, the buyers/middlemen informed them that the price went down to P30/kl even though not true and it went even down to P27/kl after the 4th day of harvest, they could not say no to the offer because they were afraid of their mangoes goes over ripe. This is all happening in the Philippines, there is no law prohibiting middlemen not to engage business directly to the farmers. Middlemen do nothing, they victimized farmers and their only capital is saliva (laway ra ang capital). I feel sorry for Anselm, losing twice in a row. But maybe he can change the selling powers in davao oriental one day. Salamat Kulas. power on. Big fan here in Vegas.
Kulas, my husband and I think you are an incredible inspiration to all the people around the world. If more people were like you, the world will SMILE 😀 keep up the great job!
Actually, I Blessed Commader D, decided to donate his fish harvest! It’s not actually a lost in terms of good faith! In money, yes. But God sees through the heart! Whatever you sow is what you reap! Sow goodness, never get tired of sowing good, by faith, you’re gonna reap goodness too in the future!
Your a very good guy kumander D,.just keep goin and stay humble and safe..you will achieve what you wish for trust me,and trust god..you helping the locals and thats important right now.
My big thanks to the Amazing Tolentino couple for the donation that helped many people during tough times. Likewise, to Kulas who initiated the sharing of BANGUS to the hardworking Frontliners.
You did a good job by supporting a friend who loses quite an income than expected. But beyond that you are a good person, a true friend who makes sure the he's doing okay. Mabuhay ka Kulas! We need more of this maybe more of you. Salute!
Commander Daot, let this lossbe a stepping stone to your success in August.Despite your loss you still donated to the front line workers.God bless you.🌏🇨🇦🙏🌎

wow! SALUTE to a RISK-TAKER..unMOVED..PATIENT..DETERMINED 28yo GORGEOUS GUY..------my respect and admiration! ..i'd rather buy a place close to tourist spot or 2\3miles away from shore..put up 5door apartment-for-rent than take the risk of fish business------which take much patience..hardwork and courage for loss! Thats ok sir, but i feel bad for your loss. My father also have that business. Try to get help to local Deprtmnt of Agriculture, they can help u & its free because its governmnt support. They can recommend the feeds, time of feeding, the correct # of fingerlngs, etc.

"Ang umaayaw ay hindi nawawagi". Anselmo, you can bounch back given by your determination. People here are suggesting that you collab with BFAR. Get the help from Manny Pinol from the office of the President of the Philippines. Sir Pinol is in charge of Mindanao farm & agricultural development. He is kind and approachable. You can connect with him on his Facebook. Anselmo, you are an admirable man, Pinoy by heart. For sure you will be helped by your new fans nearby in Davao. Fight ka lang! Padayon ug amping amping pod!👌❤🇵🇭
Commander D is pretty hands on his business he is a hardworking young man,,, never give up commander. Thank you kulas all the support especially the local to help it out too.
That’s heartbreaking for your friend and the community but don’t let this lose his enthusiasm on the business and the people. It’s the odds that play out in this pandemic, but anselm has to be creative and resilient like the country, develop and harness the talent of his people by making smoked fish that’s so in demand, and of course; with your vlog about this man and the community, this will be a successful turnaround later. Stay safe always
Kulas tell commander D to start vlogging. I think he be great, and also he seems like a good personality person to watch and he seems interesting n very entertaining person. Commander D is always jolly everytime I watch your vlog n he always surprises people with some drank 👌
so i found myself clapping my hands when when they were able to pull the truck out from the "pit" :-) now I know how they harvest the fish(es) in a pond. I learned something today
Anselm God bless you and your family & God bless you Kulas 😇 If you will earn less today then keep going and gain tomorrow. Super mabait ka Anselm and maalaga and Kulas parihas mo cool and mabait kaya likes namin kayo.. Sana Anselm featured ninyo always ang gawa mo sa malaki and malinis na fish pond mo. 😍
Commander D know the risks of this business. He may earned little today, but he gained a lot of friends, he help a lot of people. Well, what is important is he contributed something to society, the reward will just follow. POWER ON! Commander.
marketing is always the problem on bangus....fine first where you gonna sell it in advance before the harvest week or day...theirs a lot of supply of bangus in your area...but stay strong n pray..your a good guy commander...you can do it
right. and this is the reason why kulas blog is a very big help. plus almost all business got affected by the virus this year. so i have positive feeling about his next harvest..
Commander D & Kulas. You just started on your business. Just don't loose hope. Just keep on going. You will learned a lot of things. Be positive. God bless and Take care.
I will lift up with prayer to you "A" for you. God will make a way will there seems no way. He works in ways you cannot see. He will make a way. He will make a way. God will bring up your business in His own plan. Just trust the "Source" of everything. No matter what you went through in this year of_____. HE knows you very well, A. Infact Jesus grew up in a place where fishes are caught by fishermen n it is the livelihood of Galileans. Fishes are more blessed, holy, n healthy meat to eat. God bless you n your business.
My experience: I'm here in L.A. so I put my uncle in charge of 4 fish ponds (5 hectares more or less, 2 hectares I bought for $25k near Dagupan City). In a one-year operation, I think I lost $10 - 15k. MY uncle and the employees were happy, and I'm the only one sad. So, I had no choice but to rent out the ones I bought for only $800/yr. I'm glad for Commander D that he lost only 500 kilos, about $1,500 and maybe double that amount during his first try, so It's about $4,500...less than 1/2 of what I lost. Anyway, he doesn't look sad and still was able to donate 150 kilos to the hospital. So, hats off to him. I'm sure he'll make it in the near future. Next year, my lease is up...in time for my retirement at 62 so I'll run the business myself. I'm sure I'll loose some in my first 2 tries but I'm positive it'll get better. It's like paying tuition fee when you're in school.
@@KumanderDaot Stay strong young man, you have accomplished more than most people twice your age. Like one of the subscribers said, don't give up, keep going forward because that's how you find success!
@@KumanderDaot Ouch! But, double ouch for me because I lost more...so, I charge that loss to experience. I try not to think about it. To make it not painful, I put it in a good way...the money I lost is another man's gain ...at least I was able to help them. Kumander D, I think you've got a lot of positive energy. I'm sure you'll make it there. All the best to you! Try mixing large shrimp and bangus at the same time. I heard it's more profitable. You-tube it. I'd like to meet you guys when I go back next year.
So inspiring! Salute to Anselm! Thank you also Kulas and your friends from abroad who donated bangus to frontliners in the hospital. God bless you more! Continue to spread love and good vibes wherever you go.
Thank you Kyle and to your dad and the sponsors who donated kumander D's bangus to the local hospital. And to Mike (MacGyver) for always being there to fix things. Lol! I love that tv series of my childhood. I so admire Anselm for his perseverance and jumping into this business without no idea and no help. It's not an easy one he got into. But praying the next harvest of tilapia he can break even. He got you and your other friends there for support so he will make it. Get some rest kumander D, you need to recharge your batteries for the next harvest. It will be a success. As the saying goes, life is tough but kumander D is tougher. That's my motto. Power on and good vibes and lots of positivity sending your way guys.
Big heart and a great help for the frontliners in Cateel. Your work will be rewarded! You are spreading a good example of generosity especially in time of this pandemic. God bless you Kulas and the Becoming a Filipino community!
Sad😔😔😔... But not only "Commander D" All fish farm is down coz of the pandimic.... Keep up bro.... You can do it... Idol Kulas ang the community suport you.... Good luck ang godbless mga Bro....
Wow! Kulas, you really have one great team there. The spirit of friendship and positivity is very uplifting. Kumander D, the big pot of gold is there waiting for you just don't give up. Power on!
I dig up part of my father rice field to start a Tilapia fish pond, the problem is the people living around the fish pond are doing night fishing. Just one harvest and i filled up the fish pond to the dismay of my neighbors.
She is exactly right kumander d, change your people put up cameras at 4 corners that will safeguard your farm. I swear these some night fishers will never come close to your perimeter ever. There are cheap cctv cams available nowadays, you can even watch your farm wherever you go anytime with your smartphone
salute to u commander.. we Filipino thank u for ur contribution, giving local community people jobs especially with this time, hope u bounced back next harvest.. btw a friend of mine once told me that Philippines is still lacking/short of Bangus supplies for export.. He is a Bangus grower or fisherman or whatever u call it, from Malalag, Davao del Sur..
Farming is tough... You really have to keep an eye on those people you put there. 500 fingerlings that's a lot! You have to be there from where you are getting it until they are release. Do not ever take your eyes on it. Like some guys said also, you must install CCTV. And during harvest time, keep an eye on those people you hire, considering where your farm is located they could easily stash and hide some. Remember these harvesters are not your regular employee. My family owns rice farm and a good friend of mine owns tilapia farm. Every season we are catching some of them thieving. During harvest my friend always ask us for help to keep an eye who is doing who. From the moment the pond started draining all the way to the weighing scales. You will be in for a big surprise! I'm not saying all of them are thieves but there a lot of them!
Lukas, You brought tears to my eyes! Your kindness is deep and your positive outlook is immense and touching. Thank you for helping Anselm! More power to you both!
Salamat sa akong mga supporter!
Actually I don't think that people were stealing the full size fish. I have security all night and this is a small community, you do not want a reputation as a thief, you will never work again
The main problem was poor technical management at the start which poisoned the water and the fish.

Bangus farming is very challenging and many people have lost money in this investment. To Anselm, if you intend to continue, please ensure that you get expert advice from the local Bureau of Fisheries. Speak to other bangus business owners to get advice. You will need to be more scientific in your approach.
and you gotta find connections so you can sell your bangus easier
I think in the 1st harvest it is impossible to get the 100 percent you invest RoI I think it takes 3 to 4 then you will see youre profit
Fish pond is already there ...fingerlings is already in your fishpond so need patience
It would've been a different story if we don't have a pandemic going on right now.
It’s difficult to do anything without connections in the Philippines. Gotta start connecting dude.

I have big respect for this guy, keep going Kumander, failure is just a part of success.
KULAS AND KD ,ARE REALLY GOOD ,NICE PROPLE.GOD BLESD YOU GUYZ,ALWAYS.
I firmly believe Kulas that Anselm will succeed. With his perseverance, determination, and kind heart, anything is possible! It may be painful but it's part of doing a business. It's a slow and painful process but he can bounce back stronger and wiser. Power on Commander Daut! God bless you even more.
I love Commander D, his business will hopefully soon gain more attention and success in the future. I know it! Don't give up Commander D, persevere!
Thank you Ramon and Judy Tolentino!! You guys are awesome!!!!.
AGREED!!!!!
A saying that said, the most truly generous persons are those who give silently without expectation of praise or reward.
Kumander Daong, I'm really proud of you for being a humble person. You grew up from wealthy country, but able to live in remote area, able to speak visaya and especially very friendly to Filipinos. I've learned something from you.
Anselm, many of kulas follower feel you of your loss.Dont lost heart.

I can help you Commander i am planning to import the bangus to Kota Kinabalu. I will contact you once everything is back to normal.
Help him out
Hi! My family has a fishpond In our province. Marketing our harvest is our big problem. Can u help us also?
God bless for that ! Praying for a good results for you guys
paulerwyn erwyn You must mean EXPORT, not IMPORT. To import is to buy from other place. To export is to sell outside your territory, especially to another province or country.
Hi, yes I will buy from Commander and bring to KK. 😀 i am doing it for 20 years now. By the way thank you for you very nice explanation🤣
Bless your heart for doing what you are doing despite of all the challenges you are facing. I hope you will be rewarded for your kindness and continuous trust to those people trying to help you.
Commander D STAY POSITIVE WE ALWAYS HERE TO SUPPORT YOU!!!

For me this is the most emotionally charged vlog u have ever published Kulas. I feel you bro Commander Daut. May God bless u guys.
Bad loss but gained lots of RESPECT 👏🏼👍🏼
Thanks for being a part of this community!! :)

Kumander I salute you.The people of Davao will appreciate your good heart helping pinoys.
Deserves many many likes. God bless all. More blessings to come.
Kulas tell commander D to start vlogging. I think he be great, and also he seems like a good personality person to watch and he seems interesting n very entertaining person. Commander D is always jolly everytime I watch your vlog n he always surprises people with some drank 👌

Commander D know the risks of this business. He may earned little today, but he gained a lot of friends, he help a lot of people. Well, what is important is he contributed something to society, the reward will just follow. POWER ON! Commander.
marketing is always the problem on bangus....fine first where you gonna sell it in advance before the harvest week or day...theirs a lot of supply of bangus in your area...but stay strong n pray..your a good guy commander...you can do it
right. and this is the reason why kulas blog is a very big help. plus almost all business got affected by the virus this year. so i
have positive feeling about his next harvest..
Thank you kulas and friends for your support to kumander daot. Makes me inspired in this time of uncertainty. Power on. More positivity. ❤️
This loss was about $1,500, yes. My first loss last year was $6,000! Now that was painful!
Sorry about your losses...when it comes to business i must say from experience, never ever trust anyone even your relatives.
So inspiring! Salute to Anselm! Thank you also Kulas and your friends from abroad who donated bangus to frontliners in the hospital. God bless you more! Continue to spread love and good vibes wherever you go.
Kulas I would Love to donate $100 to help commander D with his Thriving Bangus business i would Love to see him successful . #PinoyLovefromcalifornia.
Its that kyle wants the money for himself. Nobody is good on money enough where they will say, no I dont need your money from donations?
Kumander D has a good heart.. he deserves more than this. 😔 My heart though 🥺
Big heart and a great help for the frontliners in Cateel. Your work will be rewarded! You are spreading a good example of generosity especially in time of this pandemic. God bless you Kulas and the Becoming a Filipino community!
Sad😔😔😔... But not only "Commander D"
All fish farm is down coz of the pandimic....
Edita Trinio That is typical Filipino. Gutom din kasi mga tao. But that doesn’t justify night fishing.
Relate... daming hirap para sa Pamilya, tas iba ung mkikinabang!!
Watch 🐶
I have 2.6 ha in alaminos , Pang , yield is only 26k ph per year ($500 US) I know my own relatives are short changing me . And this is riceland!
salute to u commander.. we Filipino thank u for ur contribution, giving local community people jobs especially with this time, hope u bounced back next harvest.. btw a friend of mine once told me that Philippines is still lacking/short of Bangus supplies for export.. He is a Bangus grower or fisherman or whatever u call it, from Malalag, Davao del Sur..
Anselm is my new hero!. Thank you Kulas for cheering him up! 💪
We all cheer each other up :)
thank you Kulas for the moral support, will pray for your friend's strength to never give up 🙏
Farming is tough...
