I've got the Fält guide gloves, on your recomendation, and they really are great. Never once had cold hands in them. Also, living in rainy Holland, they can take a surprisingly big amount of water before the wool lining starts to get damp (espescialy when you make sure the leather stays healthy).
I use Johan Skullman leather gloves most of the year in the woods, ideal with touch liners or thicker liners in winter. . Army leather short in winter. In rain always sleeves over glove cuffs. Seal skinz sun gloves are awesome for summer trekking
Great video and reviews. I have the active grip and I love them. I have, and tried a lot of gloves/mittens. I get really cold hands in the winter and have yet to really find a pair of gloves that will keep my hands warm. I may try the guide gloves and see how they perform for me. Love that waterproof shell. Peace
@@TedWeirum If it wasn't clear, I was talking about those Faalt Guides. Man, they are really impressive! I've had them for a year now and they look brand new. Now, I am in the market for some of those touch point liners, probably the standard wool grey ones. Question: Did you size down for them, or get the same size that your Faalt Guide Gloves are in? (2 "a" in Faalt because I am an ignorant American). ;)
HI Ted, Ive added your video to our site thanks for that! would be great if you can give a shout out 😊We working on bringing on lots more brands for next year so watch this space for more of your favourites. Have a great day, Russ
Great video ... super. Are the 1st version you showed, the ergo grip 5 finger also good for Mountain bike riding? The cycling gloves don't seem to be very warm.
not sure about the wind resistance there when biking, maybe a shell glove layer could be a better solution there, at least have something above if its really cold!
Hello I just purchased the ergo grip active gloves. They fit so well ! I have put some Hestra balm on them and they have remained tacky for quite a few days after the treatment. Does this go away ?
Hi Ted, how do Hestra gloves seem for fit? I can't work out which size I'd need as their size chart suggests 8 for hand circumference and 10 for hand length. Slim long hands so it's a common trade-off for me that end up with gloves which are a sloppy fit round my hands just to get the fingers long enough.
hmm.. that's a tough one! I would size up, but if you could try them out that would be best of course, since some of them are leather they will adapt a bit with age. Any resellers nearby?
@@TedWeirum That's a possibility, but I'm trying to simplify my glove system as I've learnt over the years that smooth liners, in any material, don't work, nor does combining more than a couple of layers, as any finger movement tends to pump what blood is in my hands out. I'm back into my regular winter cycle of :- painfully cold hands, which can happen even if they've warmed up whilst walking, and an endless re-jigging of my existing glove selection in different combinations , desperately trying to find something that works. I'm being circumspect about new purchases too, having been wiped out financially by the Covid lockdowns and in the position of trying to sell stuff on eBay to pay for new items.
They are very nice gloves all of them but there is a company in US makes gloves out of Buffalo hide and elk skin they make the gloves you have look very cheesy and overpriced.

awesome to hear that you have the same experience as me! thanks for the input brother!
Hestra is gold. I usually use the Skullman 5 Finger for work in the Woods. Someday I will give the Fält a chance. Thanks for the shot!❤
agree! thanks for watching! :)

yeah, seal skinz are really nice too! :)
I still look out for these on your Amazon storefront. These princess fingies could never! 💅🏾
hahhah, I hope I added all of them there, might have to tell the retail department to have a look at that!
Nice video, I also bring a small first aid kit, small towel and a head light...
great points!

thanks brother! yeah, for me the waterproof shell will be a game changer!
I’m looking for a pair of gloves for skiing. I wonder if leather is durable enough.
They have a ton of different variations there, I suggest you have a look at their website!
I don't even have to look at what I know is gonna be #1, and I agree, they're so good.
yeah, truly the best gloves ever!

you could use them for that as well! all around great gloves!
what about the windstopper convertible mittens you showed in another video? why not in this list?
Great question! They are awesome for photography and filming, this video was more focused on outdoor gloves!
@@TedWeirum cheers. would you recommend them for urban and bike commuting? up to 14F / -10C?

Do you have Experience on the Hestra Oden gloves? I have had my eye on them but cant find much info.
Not yet brother, I’ll be sure to add them to the list next time I do a review!

It should “melt” in to the leather after a while! Keep using them as normal
@@TedWeirum thank you
Just worried about transferring some of the residual onto things.
@randykirstuk8978 understood, hard to say from here, I’d keep rubbing my hands with the gloves on. Hope it works out brother!
Hi Ted, great videos..
Is that the High Coast Hoodie you’re wearing?
That’s the keb fleece!

@@TedWeirum No, I'm afraid not, so it's an online order with it's attendant potential returns issue. Hence my uncertainty about ordering a pair.
I understand. If you’re going for winter gloves or thicker ones I’d size up and then add a liner if it’s too wide

Ok, is switching to mittens a better option then? Removing them when necessary. Thinking that you’d at least stay warm
👍
🙏🏼
Always freezing with my 3 Hestra gloves. Better brands out there
really, what brands do you recommend?
@@TedWeirum Marmot Expedition mitts or Mammut arctic mitts
I’ll look into those! Thanks for the tip brother!

that's great, I haven't heard of that company, do you know the name? would be cool to try them! do you use them yourself?
