    One question, how will the light gate know when to stop recording time? Would you start the timer up manually first on the computer?

      Memorise a diagram and just state which quantities you will measure and what you will use for each. Then quote the equation and how you will use it. 🙂

      Hiya, vary height, measure time. Use the gradient of a graph to calculate g. 😀

      @@noorm6973 yes. You can say that. But the aim is to get g to highest accuracy. Control variables: on Earth! Also lowest friction/air resistance possible. Could do this in vacuum, but that's not practical in school so we use very short distances so air resistance is negligible compared to weight.

    This does not measure acceleration toward the Earth or Gravity. It’s simply measuring the speed of an object over time, moving in relation to your perception or position.
    Accelerometers show and register zero in free fall, and their is zero displacement in free fall. Hence, no acceleration. Hence, no Gravity.

      @@KitBetts-Masters i using photogate calculate gravity acceleration. the formula is g = 2h / t2 - t1. i watch here and found the formula are not same
