- Hello people, I am back... for now... :D
As you can see in the title, I'll be unboxing and modding the CIY Tester 84 which is an insane budget mechanical keyboard option!
If I'm being honest, this video was recorded BEFORE Christmas 2022... and became my gift for my Secret Santa (yep, I've finally finished editing)

thanks for the tutorial. I just purchased a ciy tes84 planning on doing this when i receive my kit.
just put a tester84 together today with the milky yellows, its great and surprised its so cheap. i ordered another one to play with lol.
I've just ptfe tapped my stabilisers and lubed them up, as there is a lot of rattle and play with them stock and they weren't lubed generously. I have filled the empty battery space below the silicone pad with acoustic fan filter material and have used 3 layers of painters tape. Just waiting for my purple panda switches and pbt pudding caps. I'm going to lube my switches and fill my space bar with tape too. I hope it THOCKS! 🙏

Hi! What is the tape that you used in the video? Cause I've heard that some tapes have acrylic glue that can conduct the electricity and fry the board.
Wow, I'll definitely consider this for my silent build, but quite sad it isn't wireless, I value the connection method a bit more than the sockets' direction
Oh and I'm just making sure, these gateron milky yellows have a pro variant, and do their housings support cherry profile with north facing? It's a big problem for us cheaps and it'll help us lots !

Does this keyboard have a refresh rate of 1000hz?,
And is it possible to change hz ?
Forgive me if I missed it but is there no single colour background setting? Would like it to just be white or purple.
I believe you can make it a single colour! Haven't tested it but I'm fairly certain you can :)

@@keikoethan3258 you hold alt and home I think, there should be a booklet with the instructions online. I don't think I've ever used software but I think there is some online.
