- Highlights from the 1951Grand National Race at Charlotte Speedway, a dirt track on April 1, 1951. The movies are from the Lloyd Moore collection who was one of the pioneer drivers in NASCAR during its formative years. Curtis Turner won followed by lee Petty and Marshall Teague.
If that doesn't do a great job of capturing nascars humble beginnings I do not know what does. I want Moore

This was Charlotte Speedway (the dirt track). It was located in Charlotte, NC.

i thought that old nascar was in circuits, this is similiar to a rally race...old nascar is so different from new one
