  • Locating Access to Hydrolic Hose leak. After hrs of searching and getting repair info from John Deere telling me the radiator and Hydrolic cooler would have to be removed, we removed a simple coverplate by lifting it out ( No Nuts or bolts or screws ).
Job could have easily been repaired in a very short period.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH.
My JD 250 blew a hose yesterday, and I couldn't find it. Your video just saved me thousands of dollars. Thank you, thank you

I know how you feel. John deere told me I would have to remove the cooling radiator and puul it from the engin !!!! Glad it helped.

Very useful as I have just purchased one with a mystery leak. I fear I must comment however on your comments over the JD techs responses to you. It sounds like they were trying to be helpful to you despite them trying to figure out the picture without the benefit of actually seeing your equipment. People are not all seeing and there is no magic answers to any problems with leaks. Most shops would not advise you to do anything but bring it in for them to fix it. You must have a great dealer in your area to take the time to try to navigate your problem on an old model with no monetary gain for them. I would give them a shout out for trying to help. Just my 2 cents Canadian.

My wife found this video after I dumped the oil as well. Everything is so packed in these machines that I could not tell where the oil leaked from. Amazingly enough, the same hose had failed on our machine. On a whim, we went ahead and pulled the same hose. Ours had failed as well. I don't think I would have found it without this video. Eat your Wheaties before you try to loosen these fittings.

My 270 has been leaking since I bought it a year ago. Pretty sure Ive replaced nearly every hose in it and also rebuilt the entire hydraulic pump. They're a real b*tch to work on. Finally found a small split in the large hose from hyd reservoir to pump. Had to make my own 1 7/8" crowfoot wrench and reach it through the bottom. Real bast*rd. All these hoses have o-ring fittings and you dont have to get them super tight. I had to use a pair of 4 foot cheaters on a 3/4" drive to break it lose. Insane. Just pray you never have to replace one.

I have a similar machine. I'm just curious how you got the fitting off the bottom of the cooler with that rear bumper in the way? I'm new to have you machinery but it seems like everything is always in the way . I don't understand how you guys get wrenches into these places even up by the filter. I'm struggling. If you could reply with some tips that would be amazing.
