This is their most underrated album for sure. Full of gems such as Rising Power, Guns For Hire, Landslide, Nervous Shakedown, and this song.
Nervous shakedown 🤘🤘
Yes it is for sure their most underrated album
Malcolm shined this album. Kinda of a small club vibe sound. It's tighter than other album productions from their past.
Cause it's not bon
House is on fire might be my favorite of them all. The critics who didn't like this album should have had their heads examined. I believe it's their best album with Brian Johnson after back in black
The guitar riff during the chorus is what makes this song. That riff is just too awesome.
One of their best ever riffs !
Ikr
@Mr X Tuneless, AC/DC ?? ... go off and listen to some ABBA then, see if that floats your boat !
The Riff is everything in this song, it’s brutal 😍😎😂
@Mr X why watch it to the end then, 😂👎
How can people say this album was mediocre? This song freakin' rocks!
Agreed. I think it's because it comes on the heels of Back in Black and the very good For Those About To Rock back to back withing a year of one another, and then this was 2 years removed from the latter. It's unrealistic to think they can come close to Back in Black.
@@afmartin2734 that's the point. For an ACDC album it simply wasn't one of their better ones. That doesn't mean it doesn't have some great songs on it, but it's really not one of their better records.
Flick Of The Switch was the Johnson era Powerage. They got rid of Mutt Lange and his shiny radio friendly production and went back to the raw sound of the Bon era that wasn't drenched in reverb and delay. I think it's easily as good as For Those About To Rock, and better than any album that came after 1983. By the time Fly On The Wall was released Brian's voice had changed drastically.
The production is the problem.
Brian is a stud on this tune.
Flick of the Switch is one of the greatest rock albums of the '80s, I don't care what anyone else says. I bought this album the day it was released and loved the hell out of it. As a matter of fact, it was my favorite album of 1983 (and there were some phenomenal albums out that year). Any TRUE AC/DC fan MUST have this album in their collection. This album just RULES!!!
Chris Damon how old are you when you bought the album
I was 18. My first semester in college.
Chris Damon I wish I was in the 80s
Flick of the Switch (AC/DC) and Lick It Up (KISS) came out a month apart (Aug-Sept of 1983) and were powerhouse albums for 2 veteran bands that were 10 years into their recording careers. Great stuff and a great time to be a teen ager.
Absolutely!!!
Why did this song never become one of their live classics??? It’s an absolute banger!
It’s so good, top to bottom. This tune never lets up!
if you watch all the live rehearsals of this tour, they tried to do it live, but Brain struggled to sing it live, especially chorus thing.
I hear people say all the time, "Brian is great but he's no Bon Scott" and they re exactly right, he's not Bon Scott he's Brian F***ing Johnson and he's got his own swagger love Bon, I salute you Brian long live AC/DC!!!
Yep, Bon was around for, what 8y? Brian for 30? ... no they are different people :)
matthewaromo10 ❤️❤️
@@nbx2au Bon was in AC/DC 6 years, brian 36 years :)
@Jacob St.Clair That was the point. Bon picked out Brian as his replacement if anything happend to him. It was so not long after :) spooky
Absolutely! Love both of these singers!
ACDC is the greatest rock band of all time. Thank you ACDC for over 40yrs of great music.
Yes sir got that right
✊
Hi there, it was 40 years ago TO-DAY = I met ac freaking DC, on this tour (FLICK OF THE SWITCH) Oct 13, 1983, at Tacoma Dome (*Seattle), I was 21, meeting the band, crashing their pre-show party, in the hostility room, beers, potato chips and 5 photos taken with Angus, and Malcolm! This was my 4th show of 34 shows in 34 years, what a memorable experience, thank you Brian for giving it so long. Nothing but A ROCKING GREAT TIME!! CHEERS! ACDC BUTTON MAN
It's now 50 years!
Bullshit. Thin Lizzy is the band that they copied and happened to surpass. But Lizzy is Way better. Shedders from would have held their own against him in their solos 😅😅😅
Acdc has never give a shit for fancy videos, they care only for making true rock n roll, no bullshit
I agree
This was from rehearsals for the tour :p
I love classic style music videos of rock n roll!!!
Andrew Cobain Nirvana Wish I knew how to play the guitar T_T
+Tomás Gomes never too late to start m8
2:32 Malcolm just rippin with the broken string flailing around. Hell yeah
Yeah, I noticed the broken D or G string on Malcolm's guitar
Haaaaaa gotta love the MTV generation in the early days….. total lip sync and “ playing “ with a broken string……. lol after all the years that video came out and who knows how many plays , how many times was it ever noticed? Besides the director of the video not seeing it either lol
@garretdeandrea8870 To be fair, it was just a video- but happens all the time in reality. Hell, one night me and the lead player both broke out D strings about 60 seconds apart in the same song. We both played through it.
It's amazing how this band rocked hard enough during the eighties without going cheesy like most bands in the eighties.Acdc stuck to thier roots the last 4 decades
Angelo Rizzuto five now!
My roots are stuck in the AC/DC's universe.
And still going hard 2020 long live ACDC KINGS OF ROCK
The 80s and 90s were their best decades, in my opinion.
No power ballads!!!!
2:32 Malcolm broke his string cause he was playing too hard. What a legend R.I.P
he bROCK in the string
@@FerGL 🤣🤣🤣
He broke the string and kept playing. Does it get cooler than that?
I thought I was the only one to notice his guitar string breaking. Malcolm #1 rhythm guitar player ever!!
Good thing they’re miming
Mal was so badass that broken strings never phased him. R.I.P.
Six years later Iam going to be that guy--"fazed."

If you look closely, Malcolm is actually playing most of the song with a broken string. Amazing to watch these brothers at work.
Son: "Excuse me, can you explain me what rock and roll is?"
Dad: "Yes, it is AC/DC"
⚡
Amen Brother!
I was actually smiling at your comment, because it is the same comment a young girl made in a "kids react to rock" video, and, obviously, AcDc was part of it.
A little girl, probably 9 yo, came to the same conclusion. "ACDC is Rock & Roll."
Haha . 🤘🏽
JAJAJA YES
I put on the razor's Edge LP in our boat about 30 years ago and my dad was like he sounds like Donald Duck laugh my f****** ass off
Any TRUE AC/DC fan, this is a MUST have and favorites play-list!!!
I have it
I have it
Exactly!
This song is underrated, just like the album but I think it's a great song, just like nervous shakedown.
Yes it is!
Most underrated acdc riff ever
Underrated song and album!
Todd Schneck o 😗😍👅
Todd Schneck really?? To who? AC DC was huge around this time!
Brocket 99 brought me here. This is a lesser known song of theirs at least nowadays
Their BEST album with Brian Johnson. By far.
Todd Schneck too right
I have heard every acdc song that is on spotify and I have never heard a bad acdc song. That's over 200 epic songs to rock out to. For acdc we salute you.
wtf is wrong with the people who think this album and song aren't amazing? I love it!

Why is every AC/DC song so fucking good like every one
Hearing a lot of people say this is their worst album. I don't think there is a worst album tbh, AC/DC has never put out anything that isn't badass in some sort of way
This is AC/DC's rawest album. It's also one of my favorites because of that. I think the thing was at this time (1983) AC/DC was coming off two monster albums, but MTV was taking over. AC/DC videos had been, by and large, just videos of them playing. With videos now selling records as much as anything, the shot of the tuning room was great and pure but had no real theatrics (Angus without his suit?). The following album they tried a concept video that even they admit didn't cut the mustard (though I do like "Fly On the Wall"). Sales dipped but then once the band embraced theatrics in their videos in 1986 with Who Made Who the band's sales started to rise again. "You Shook Me All Night Long" is my favorite AC/DC video as it is the one in which Brian Johnson stars, and then there's Corrine Russell. But I used to love watching this video on "Headbangers Ball" 30 years ago! Wait, 30 years ago? That can't be right.
Big Balls Lamo
Yeah I love this album front to back but as far as there not being a worst album I’ve got four words for you. “Blow Up Your Video”.LOL!
A true fan would love this album
@@outdoorking69 Exactly! Thank you
Loudest concert ever!!!! Ears rang for 2 days after!!!! Dont know how Malcolm stood right in front of the amps the whole concert? RIP Mal
2 weeks after Black Ice show.😂
Drugs
#Burny 812. Saw AC/DC Oct. 13,1983. Tacoma Dome ,Tacoma,Wa.on Flick of the Switch tour. 1st concert R&R show ever, 15 yrs old. My ears rang for 3 days, and ever since, that show is the benchmark for loud rock n roll. Been to many show's over the yrs. and NO ONE has come close. That says something about AC/DC. By the way, someone fired an aerial fireworks rocket into the ceiling of the all wooden dome right after they launched into "This house is on fire" off FotS, and it did catch fire for a few minutes. What still amazes me is the band never skipped a single note, and they saw it too. Outfuckingstanding!!!
Thanks fellas, your one helluva band. That show defined my belief that AC/DC IS rock n roll. STARE DECISIS!!🤘🤘🤘
Ear plugs.
[cups ear] Sorry...what?
Rock 'n' Roll ain't noise pollution....
After Back in Black (which can't be topped) Flick of the Switch is my favorite 80's Brian Johnson era album. It's raw and rocks hard. I love this album.
I'd go right behind blow up your video for me but I still love it!
Honestly I think Highway to Hell is better than Back in Black, but those are definitely the 2 best ones!
I think BiB and FTATR are the best Brian Johnson albums..... especially the latter as Brian sounded too powerful.....here his voice kinda got a decline
Dear Lord, the power in those vocals!
I had the feeling after black and black and get a massive tour and then had to follow it up with another album. By the time they got to. For those about to rock, his voice was hammered. Didn't sound anywere near the same on for those about to rock compared to back in black. So I think I rested up f***** mutt lang off. And here was the result. He's voice back to full power
This album and song are underrated.
SexyAlpha Wolf Kate so is fly on the wall album
Dougjm I agree with that also.
My favorite Brian Johnson album!!
Besides Back in Black, their best album by far with Johnson....I may say it’s even better than Back in Black.
Brian’s vocals are so good….damn
If I remember correctly acdcproduced this album on their own. Very underrated album. Rocks harder than a lot of Mutt Lange produced stuff.
Idk why people say that this is one of their worst albums, nothing of AC/DC can be bad, honestly!
Forever Angus Young I agree with you my friend!🎸 AC⚡️DC is the best , kick ass group this world will ever see!
Worst album for me was ballbreaker musically but i'm starting to hate back in black cause its been overplayed waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many times, flick of the switch, fly on the wall, and blow up your video is the eras of acdc i'm currently at
mike hamilton
All of the bands albums were good.
For me, the Bon Scott years can never be matched. They were on fire from the get go until Bon's untimely death.
The Brian Johnson years for me are from 1980 to 88, from back in black to blow up your video, and all the albums in between are what made that era of the band come close to the Bon era, but not quite.
I enjoyed Ballbreaker more than Razors edge, and the rest were just ok.
Although the razors edge tour and the Ballbreaker tour were both phenomenal. It's been that long since I've seen the band, in which I've seen them on every tour since For those about to rock, minus Flick of the switch.
@@mikehamilton646 there is no such thing as overplaying acdc
I still like this album the most of the Johnson era. Raw and live sounding and Johnsons voice was at its peak
1983 was a really good year for metal.
Malcom broke a string and kept on rocking!!! Long live ACDC!!
Nothing against Malcolm but it's easy to keep rocking when you're miming to a pre-recorded track.
Love this album,...one of their best!
And Landslide gets me every time, almost jumping through the roof lol!
I saw them on that tour 1983, it was awesome
Malcolm’s so fucking badass he broke a string during a playback 👊
Best album of the Brian Johnson era.
Flick of the Switch was the Let There Be Rock of the 1980's, raw and energetic! It's a criminally underrated album and the last album that has Brian's voice still in tact. By the end of the Flick of the Switch tour in September 1984 his voice was SHOT.
Saw in 83...you are correct...you can hear it in fly...last great acdc album imo
One of Angus's best guitar riffs!!! Right behind Squealer. Rocking song!!!!
Fixed her good 👍
Such an underrated album. This and Fly on the wall fucking rock hard! Great albums ! They don’t get the recognition they deserve!
Loved Fly on the Wall, got it on VHS before buying the cassette. It was so unique, I drew that fly on all my stuff, from school bags, folders, and art projects.
Brian Johnson sings his ass off on this album. so underrated. its heavy and rocks. Flick of the switch is one of their best
Same with Fly on the Wall.
@@matthewbryson2349 Production on that album is horrible.
@@afmartin2734 I'd argue it's even worse on "Blow Up Your Video."
I was in Jr..High School when this came out...around 1983.... This album fuckn rocked....never got the credit it deserved...m.o...
Envy the camera team making this video, being there with AC/DC live in studio at the peak of their time!!
Never gets old! Who's Rockin this Loud in 2022 still?
Never heard a bad AC/DC song or album
There is none!
High Voltage is the weakest of the albums. ACDC was still warming up with their sound here and perfecting it throughout some of the songs there.
@@germanenglishengineer2054 high voltage is bad as fuck. Meaning it’s kick ass of course.
@@DaPoopIsInDaPudding TNT and Long Way to the Top yes. For me, the weak songs were Can I sit next to You Girl. Thank God they dropped Dave Evans or otherwise that they wouldn't be kickass. Live Wire, Big Balls, She got the Jack were okay.

Just when I think I have heard the best AC/DC song....I hear yet another.....💖 it
AC/DC never changed. But Radio did. And that's why some, including me,never heard some of their best songs from the 80's.
What a great song, it is impossible to sit still...this is Rock n Roll
Brians vocals are perfect
AC/DC at its purest🤘
Title track and album are so fucking awesome! Very underrated and appreciated album. Footage is from rehearsals for the tour, and the song is the studio version.
+Michael D Agreed - underrated but this is one of my all time faves.
where this video was shot was actually where they recorded the album as well.

Absolutely brilliant in its simplicity and no frills. Jeans and t-shirt and a few beers yet more raw power than any.
Malcolm made some great riffs, but this is among my favorites. His rhythm guitar part in this song had a hell of a groove.
Since Malcolm's passing you and hear just how powerful he made the rhythm. Big difference. They never sounded the same since.
fuking great song! as the whole album! filled with amazing riffs, and superb vocals and lyrics by Brian!

Their most underrated album hands down
This album and fly on the wall@@JCStorm76
flick of the swich is one of acdc's most underrated albums. if you do buy the album make sure to listen to tracks 6 and 7, guns for hire and deep in the hole. they are great and easy to listen to.
I was going to post the same thing. This album is very, very underrated. Obviously all the Bon stuff is legendary, as are Back In Black and For Those About to Rock. The albums after this were a little more well-known, at least through videos. And of course Razor's Edge brought 2 of their biggest songs.
But this album is really, really excellent. Rising Power and House Is On Fire, in addition to the tracks you mention.
dude, its one of my top 5 from AC/DC,love that album
Nervous Shakedown is also an amazing song. One of my favorites of the band
+McCartney Riddle Bedlem in Belgium also rocks
The whole álbum rocks. Rising Power is in my top 10
What you're seeing in this video is new drummer Simon Wright, but what you're hearing is Phil Rudd's drum work; he's the drummer on the whole "Flick Of The Switch" album. He left/was forced to leave right after recording that album, but was thankfully back in the drum seat again starting with 1995's "Ballbreaker". Phil is the secret ingredient to just about every great AC/DC song from 1975-1983 and again starting in 1995 (for all studio recordings; others have drummed live circa 2015-2016 and again starting in 2023).
Malcolm's broken string, now that's rock n roll.
+RedElephantStampede hahaha...thought I was the only one noticing that.

I read somewhere they filmed this after a show , they didn't want to film it lol
Now malcolm play whit bon in the heaven :,)
Angus Young is the best hard-rock guitarist, frontman and songwriter
@Dale Watkins the year both the best!!
This was such an underated album, so many great in your face rocking songs. I think 1 reason it was so overlooked was the time period. You had Mtv, spandex, makeup, big hair, flash and cash music that AC/DC wasn't a part of. I rate it a very close second to BIB.
Im glad in this life I experience the most important thing there ever was - AC/DC.
Best rock and roll band in the world
Got this album when I was 12 or 13 . Absolutely blew my mind! Still does to this day
Wow, johnsons voice! I saw acdc in bradford in the 70s. Been a fan ever since. This music wiĺl never die!!

One of their more underrated albums. One of my favorites.
Malcolm's playing is so powerful he pops a string miming to a recording of their song! Gotta love this band.

After listening to some of AC/DC's underrated songs like this one, I realized that there is a lot of people who don't know what they are missing out on.
Flick of the switch has always been my favorite sound,, that slowed dawn, darker tone!
Such a cool riff!
I miss Malcom's Riffs a lot. Oh My God what a Hard Rock Band was AC/DC with him. Rest in Peace.
Malcolm = Riff Lord
Even during rehearsal Angus Gives it all he's Got.
I Love Flick of the switch also.
Great song great band
2:35 you see Malcolm has a broken string. I have a Gretsch just like what he is playing here and I have the same gauge strings he used, they’re very heavy, 13 - 56, so to break one, it’s really takes some beating on. Wow.
Mal broke a string. He pops those things like nothing. F@#king badass.
Yea, I noticed that also. Love this video, just film them rockin their ass off.
its because they are not playing the song... they're only filming...
I love how they are miming or playing along to the studio track and Malcolm breaks a string at some point after 1:36. Because Malcolm always plays hard. To quote him: “Don’t just tickle it, hit the bugger!”

I think that this is their best album from the Johnson era. It's filled with the raw energy that the Bon era albums had, which most of the Johnson era albums lacked. The Johnson era seemed polished and commercial, even Back in Black. Flick of the Switch was a tour de force of raw, energetic rock and roll. I don't know why it's so under appreciated.
My thoughts exactly. This album has such a badass mean attitude and aggressive overall sound that it gives you the chills! And Brian sounds better than ever. Amazing album!
It's my favorite Brian album I recently found it that it didn't sell as well as previous albums and was considered a disappointment. I really don't understand why it's as AC/DC as you can get.
I believe a lot of this has to do with the fact that Flick of the Switch was self-produced. No Mutt Lange.
+GrayWoIf Plus after Back In Black selling 10,000,000, selling 3,000,000 would be considered a failure. My favorite ACDC album. Highly underrated.
Why is it underappreciated? Because Bon fans won't give Brian his due. That's why. Sad.
