A great start to Season 6! So much happened in this episode, and it was all wonderful!
At 5:45, there was a reference to Season 1 Ep 25 where Spike said to Pinkie that sometimes he poses and shows his muscles in front of a miroir when he's alone
According to Google, horse gestation takes about 11-12 months. It's possible a year has passed. Remember how much stuff happened at the end of season 5-- visiting the village again, miscellaneous bonding with Starlight, etc.

+NightmareBrony25 Most likely due to the fact that the episodes centering around Spike tend to be lackluster. Spike is a wonderful supporting character as is shown by this episode in which he really shines. When he is the main character however, the writers seem to be having trouble for some reason.

So basically when she was ultra strong, Flurry Heart was the Pony counterpart of Angry Birds' Luca. Both being babies and shatter fragile objects, like glass and... the Crystal Heart...

I thought that was made clear during Celestia's Ballad at the end of season 3, where Her Highness explained through song how she had been observing Twilight all this time, testing her ("to see what you might do").

Aside from the main ship(starburst) BigJim tweeted about Spike and starlight during the premiere and people are shiping it now hahah
With moments like 17:02, the bathroom scene, and how much physical contact there was between Spike and Starlight throughout this episode, I'm pretty sure the animators knew what they were doing.

Totally unrelated to this video but where are your season 5 reactions?
Back in late 2016, Discovery LLC started a rampaging takedown of any seaosn 5 reactions. As a result, people were advised to remove their videos for safety measures. I think it's all over now, but now I just keep forgetting to make them public again... Which I really need to do.

Hey there bud sorry for not watching this sense the other day that what I did the other day is I go to the movies wef my two brothers and my uncle.
I find it nice that we got 2 Disney references in the season premiere. At the same time it looks like Hasbro addressed one of the biggest issues a lot of fans had with the S5 Finale, that being that Starlight's past was not very well flushed out and not really a good reason for her actions. It seemed as if they took a small concept and tried to make it really big without going into detail, and with that kind of backstory it needed those details in order to sell it.
However, we see here that him leaving really traumatized her and we can conclude she was afraid to contact Sunburst first since he never bothered to write to her after moving. We got the extra flashback showing how close they were which makes reaction more realistic when he leaves.
In conclusion, not only do we see this improvement, but the two conflicts going on at once were very well written and nicely put together. Add in the Disney references, Sunburst's appearance and Spike not being cringe worthy for the amount of screen time he got and we get, in my opinion, the best premiere i think this show has had, except for possibly the S2 Premiere.
