@@Giovfunny I do have a bit of a guess - it's probably not that great for cross-platform and it's not designed with high speed storage in mind - LJ on PS5 for example, still has to load for several seconds between the cities and Seiryo High building. Not to mention frame pacing issues that plagued every single Dragon Engine games. It is designed for PS4 first and foremost (after all Yakuza used to be PS only), and they probably found it unsuitable for multi-platform releases.

Is mostly about compatinbility, Dragon Engine focus more in graphics than mechanic and physics of the game. Playing Y6, YK2, and then LJ is a bug difference but still troublemaking. For example Ace Combat 7 who uses UE5 engine and it runs pretty well and even can downgrade the graphics depending of the console its playing.
It might have been kind of a face palming moment, but god damn, is it not one of the most memorable moments in the series? Simply just because of how bizarre it was, you'll never forget it. In hindsight, I kinda like it in a weird way
Personally I like the change of IP name to Like a Dragon because now ANYTHING can happen. The plots of the game don't have to be restricted to plots involving to the Yakuza

That said, I do wish they'd add a few more prizes to the UFO Catchers and maybe a couple more old arcade games. Space Harrier's great, but at this point, I'm seeing scaling sprites in my sleep.
Even though they really should have kept kiryu in retirement, I hope like a dragon 8 will finally be a true passing the torch now that we're going to be controlling both Ichiban and Kiryu in the same game. As far as we know they're going to still keep an RPG for both of them (That's why we're getting gaiden so we can have another brawler with Kiryu) it'll be segmented storyline like in Yakuza 0 with the two protagonists switching every other chapter. So Kazama is going to have his own party presumably but I argue he's powerful enough to be on his own, unlike ichi, whose greatest strength is his friends. Either way hopefully by the end they can have kiryu in an end that doesn't require him to have to hide from those he cares about.
0:19 I'm sad Daytona USA - SCUD Race is forgotten considering the fact that he's also the director there and those are much older games. Also, 1:13 tbf Sekiro does pave the way for Samurai games to thrive after literally being GOTYed in 2019. GoT use that momentum to full effect.

It seems many people have a fundamental misunderstanding of what switching the engine would change. It doesn't really imply anything. Sure, the graphics will change a bit, but whether or not the combat or gameplay radically changes in the way people are thinking is a coin toss. I wouldn't worry about that until a game with a new engine actually comes out.

Most people see it as an outdated experience that needs a Kiwami remake. While I disagree and strongly believe 3 is fine the way it is, the remastered version, that thankfully restored all the cut content from the original, did also butcher some mechanics present in the original, most notably the quickstep distance, which was great in OG 3.

I kinda get why they are renaming Yakuza to the Japanese name Like A Dragon. From the story in 7 both Tojo and Omi are disbanded and there isn't really any yakuza org left by Lost Judgement. So I think the story in later entries may be much less about actual yakuzas because of this (And the general setting of a criminal org isn't very suitable for 2022 anymore).
