- As 'Furhead once put it, "don't wait too long for car insurance". While playing with the Windows 10 game recorder, I did something that won't buff out. Yes, it still drove after that crash!
Yes, it's Beam NG drive. Yes, I bought a copy of it. Yes, I still play Rigs of Rods and generally like it better, even if it sees little development these days. Yes, I'm sure there are better tools for game capture than what comes built in to Windows 10. No, I don't care. Please don't be an Internet Twelve Year Old, even if you are twelve years old. (Actually, I probably don't have to tell most twelve year olds that.) - Авто та транспорт

“Ooh, a little shaky on the entry, but just look at that form!!!”
It's not too bad when you consider I was driving with my keyboard. (I've still got the Microsoft wheel and pedal thing, but it takes up a lot of space that I don't want to dedicate to it.)
That car looks like a Chevy Celebrity with Dodge Dakota taillights.
For whatever it's worth, it's known as a Bruckell LeGran. The interior is heavily GM inspired, based somewhere between the late 80s/early 90s Buick and Oldsmobile 3800 cars. The engines (2.2, 2.5, 3.1, 3.8) are also definitely inspired by GM's offerings of the time.
There's also a "Gavril Grand Marshall" that is the body of a Ford Panther with the grille from a Buick Roadmaster and another GM inspired interior. Its engines seem inspired by Ford (4.6 and 5.4 liter, and maybe one bigger option as well).
If the "Grand Marshall" actually existed, I'd probably buy one!
@uxwbill The Legran looks almost identical to my 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cieria, down to the Dashboard and steering wheel. They even have a 3.3l engine option which is what mine has. I belive that to be where the inspiration came from.
Kind of off topic but not... I do love when you provide descriptions for stuff, even if it may be obvious to those who can see. I'm totally blind, and love watching your videos due to how descriptive you are. Thanks!
Fellow visually impaired person here. He was driving a cop car down the road in BeamNG drive and ended up jumping it off an overpass, crashing and flipping over.
Wow, I'm not the only blind Uxwbill viewer out there. Been watching for over a decade. Keep making awesome content Bill, I've learned a lot over the years (I was one of those, hopefully more mature, 12 year olds you mentioned in the video description when I started watching, or around that age anyway).
BeamNg.Drive is really one of my favorite games of all time.
I think beams physics are pretty spot on in this case... like Imagen being a cop driving a cop car based in the 90s, yes it may have disc brakes but they'll fade before they can actually be useful for stoping. Let alone that the car has so much body roll that the front and rear suspension are having a divorce and fighting for custody over the kids and who gets what.. beams crash physics have come along way to. I give props to the development team for beam for putting so much dedication into there work.
I haven't played Beam NG drive for a while but I remember getting a kick out of going fast and hitting poles or walls just right to where the engine would actually be thrown from the car and somehow the engine would still run. I've been mostly capturing crazy GTAV stunts (I play GTAV like its a way modern Midtown Madness)
I've not yet managed to do that.
Check it out again if you haven't seen the latest updates, they're sweet.
"On this week's episode of the Handyman Corner. Harold and Red fix a decommissioned cop car!"
All with just sixy-seven rolls of Saskatchewan chrome!
"Uncle Red, don't you think this could get us into a lot of trouble?"
"Harold, I don't think you could ever get in trouble."
Sad (or happy thing) is that I could see this exchange taking place quite literally.
Alright Officer, I think it's only fair that you at least write yourself a ticket for failure to control.
Reminds me of the scene from the Bluesbrothers where Elwood says "Jake, I gotta pull over" then proceeds to blow through the gaurd rail.
The long arm of the law demands you step away from the "SMOKE TEST!!"
It is not for lack of trying.
@@uxwbill lol
Hey, if it still drives, then you are all set!!
Typically in Beam NG a car will still move on its own power until the engine or driveshafts break. You can get entire engine/transmissions to get ejected and they will be alive just enough to idle and rev.
"However, the radio still works. Funny as that may seem with all this mess, the radio is the only thing that's really working good. And it's clear as a bell-don't ask me how.”
I know, I used that quote elsewhere in the comments.
Car workshop: Just a little scratch, buffs out in no time. $802,323.45 please.
I used to play with the Windows 10 game capture sometimes, but I found that it would sometimes lose the plot and refuse to acknowledge that the window you had open was - in fact - a game. Maybe it's gotten better, I haven't actually tried it out in a couple of years.
These driving games always seemed fun to me but I never could figure out the controls well enough to really...play them. Doesn't help that I downsized from my gaming PC to a laptop 3-ish years ago now, seeing that I was not playing any sort of demanding games anymore. Having a performance PC was fun for me for a while, but then I realized I got more entertainment about trying to get equipment to even run games.
I'm still not overly fond of Windows 10. I went to Windows 11...for a few months. I found it intolerable, and went back. That made me appreciate 10 - a task I thought was impossible.
It has certainly had to get better. Windows 10 was absolutely dire when first released. I made a video around that time where I was none too kind. I haven't run Windows 11 on anything yet and am in no rush to do so.
Maybe the improvements do run to the game recorder. I don't know that it even existed at first...
I am very big into high value computing, getting the most utility one can out of the technology they have. I also have a lot of time (some would say you have to) for low power computers.
Finally a video that fits my 16:10 monitor lol
Ha, I remember seeing video of you playing RoR on a Pentium 4 years ago, full circle I suppose
Yep, I recall that video too. Years ago.
All of that very computer, that installation of RoR and my interest in playing it still exist. For me, Rigs of Rods was the first and thus the best. I'm glad to see it hasn't been totally abandoned.
An accurate representation of the police AI in gta5
Nice to see new content from you as always!
Are we going to start getting beamng gaming videos?
No more so than Rigs of Rods before it. I'm not much on computer games, though the ones where I can do what I want tend to interest me the most. As the description says, I was just puttering around to see what and how well the recorder did.
I'm glad that The windows 10 game capture worked for you. Honestly I couldn't get it to work for the life of me.
Uh-oh Officer UXWBill is down
Nah, it still drove well enough, all the vehicle lights and half the lightbar still worked!
"The radio still works. Funny as that may seem with all this mess, the radio is the only thing that's really working good. And it's clear as a bell-don't ask me how.”
you made me smile.
May I ask, what were the specs of the PC you were running this on? I have an 8 core and an Nvidia GTX 1050 and there are still times when it stutters.
Somewhere in the neighborhood of an AMD Ryzen 9 5000 series CPU and nVidia RTX3050 graphics.
@@uxwbill Nice. I'm using a Ryzen 7 3700X with 32GB of 3200mhz RAM, but only a GTX 1050. I hope to get the new desktop RTX 3050 when it drops later this month.
@@jamesbender3809 quite a while ago, I was able to run the game on my Xeon X5355 and a 8800 GT.
Mind you, that was years ago while the game was still in like alpha stages of development.
Hey I've Ben watching your channel for years now. I'm glad to see you finally play beam ng
Awesome gameplay
hey bill do you know happend to the procom cd server tower?
I remember when you posted a Rigs of Rods video that was of similar length and content to this one… like a million years ago.
Aaaaaand he sticks the landing!
I think you were the first person I subbed to in like 2009
That's going to show up on the CarFax.
Just stopped by your channel to see if there was anything new. This made me want to recreate some of the crashes from Blues Brothers in BeamNG. Anyway, hope you're having a good 2022 so far.
Doing fine, still very busy.
Just an unrelated note - I am a new viewer, having stumbled onto your video on chromebooks completely by accident. It was so informative and entertaining that I started combing through your other computer videos. They are quite entertaining, and I am riveted to each one, even the really long one. I enjoy them greatly and look forward to anything you post from now on. Okay, enough kissing up, just wanted to say you have a new viewer.
do you still do the vaughn live stream?
You know, I occasionally have nightmares about this kind of crash scenario....
No real point to this comment other than to share that, as it's what came to mind upon seeing the video.
Ehh, you can buff all that out!
I eagerly await the no-doubt imminent launch of your Twitch channel, lol
That's not something I am going to do.
@@uxwbill although that comment was made in jest, I'm sure you'd be able to find SOMETHING to stream to the masses!
This is not a request for you to do such a thing, I'm just saying your personality could accommodate.
@@uxwbill Of course not, I was just hoping my sarcasm would come through well enough over a comment. :P
Did they ever fix the sewer lines so your basement didn't flood
Looks like a really interesting game good crash lol. I have games i was given that go from flat out 2 ,halo, doom3,and several others mostly say run Windows 2000 to xp. I haven't hadtime to really play them on desktop or laptop one with windows 7 i3 processor but the win 10 Lenovo has its ryzen5 that would blow the Toshiba out of water.
I like your title, Oops!
IRL there would have been some sort of guard rail/wall in that gap.
Ah, but there wasn't, and as soon as I realized that, I capitalized on the opportunity!
@@uxwbill Where we're going, we don't need roads!
*radio crackle* officer down, send backup!
nice to see you give Beam a shot, i have it too but i find its UI quite clunky compared to RoR, alhough i may be slightly biased on that due to the (probably) thousands of hours that ive played RoR over the past decade and a half. (started when 0.36.2 just came out)
I definitely think RoR has the better UI *and* you can actually walk around the map out of the box with the RoRbot. (I've seen people moving around BeamNG outside of a vehicle, so maybe it's possible, but I haven't looked further into it.)
@@uxwbill you can now walk around in BeamNG, with the F key while in a vehicle, with the normal WASD keys for movement, Shift to run and Space to jump. It was added in a recent-ish update that made Beam just that little bit closer to a proper RoR successor to me.
nice game my friend👍👍👍👍
And here it be that the Internet Twelve-Year-Olds have lost their coveted first comment! :P
You were going really well there... till ... the end. Nice.
Had it not been for a pickup truck that _someone_ carelessly left blocking most of the road, I'd have been fine. Of course, I know the guy who put that truck there pretty well.
Well that's one way to join the freeway... :P
I love BeamMG Drive. Bought a copy as well. What are your system specs for the system your playing on?
BeamNG is so much fun :)
Nothing wrong with having fun and enjoying a game, regardless of the age of the game!
Windows 10 game recorder is actually good.
Im curious what map this happens to be.
While I enjoy BeamNG and find it to be more realistic than RoR, its far more graphically demanding.
The map is "West Coast".
@@uxwbill That map is a huge RAM hog! Nice map though.
What are you using for input? I was using a controller, which works well enough, but has it's short-comings in a game like BeamNG.Drive. I recently picked up a Logitech G29 Wheel and pedal set, but I'm having a hell of a time getting the force feedback dialed in.
The keyboard and mouse.
ok so did the radio still work??? i hope you get the reference. stay well
Clear as a bell.
Yeah, I've played a few driving games in my lifetime and despite how much joy Beam.NG drive causes me, its such a pain to drive in even with a controller, but it's features are awesome.
Beam NG has advanced so much, it's a really good driving/racing sim now.
I hook it up to my G27 and throw around those huge muscle cars around a rally track.
I noticed and was greatly impressed to see that the clocks in some of the cars that have them actually show and keep the proper time. I was probably far more impressed than I should have been that someone got that detail right!
Last night, I became aware of a massive pile-up of Bruckell Moonhawks outside a tollbooth. :-P

Too many rookie mistakes like that and you'll be sent to the Hall of Shame
Perhaps you have not seen my Rigs of Rods videos?
@@uxwbill Not in years I'll admit xD (watching this channel for over 10 years now)
Oops indeed.
What's this? Is uxwbill becoming a gamer now? XD
It's nothing new -- look at the back catalog for some videos about Rigs of Rods. Most games won't hold my attention, as I don't find following someone else's prescribed notion of fun to be enjoyable at all.

The second comment slot has also been taken.
Not to take away from your video, bill, but… does anyone here happen to remember a UA-camr from back in the day called “CenTex videos” or something along those lines? He moved and changed his channel name at one point. I believe his name was Phil
Yes, Phil is definitely still around and making videos, just under a different channel name.

Better than GTA V
I've never played any of the GTA games. Every so often I'll get to thinking that I should, though most computer games can't hold my attention because I don't want to do what someone else thinks is fun. (Or, with Myst as a prime example, the puzzles are too darn hard for something that's supposed to be fun.)
I don’t understand why BeamNG Drive isn’t just a content pack for RoR… runs on the same engine for Pete’s sake
No, RoR uses Ogre and BeamNG the Torque 3D engine. (Although at one time I thought BeamNG was going to use the CryEngine.)

Most games (computer, video game or otherwise) just won't hold my attention because I don't really care to follow a prescribed course or do what someone else thought was fun. I'm definitely not into war games. (BeamNG Drive and Rigs of Rods have held my attention because I can do exactly what I want to do and they behave much more realistically than anything else.)
I think it safe to say that the overwhelming majority of people who watch my videos, regardless of age group, are generally decent people. It's just that the very few who aren't (whether young or old) can really get old fast, and sour one's attitude. Sometimes that boils over a bit, and I vent my frustrations. I consider it a very high honor that so many folks have been here since the beginning or very close to.
@@uxwbill Need for Speed Most Wanted is also fun if you like that kind of game
