Although our wilderness is vastly different, they both have their dangers that only a real man can maintain his stance to. you have salt water crocodiles and sharks. snakes and spiders. we have wolves and cougars. Grizzlies and moose. I think it's our affinity and respect for nature that we recognize with one another. With love , from Canada.

    Only the last 10 seconds were awkward because Stephen was forcing Jai into accepting what could be considered an offensive, stereotypical portrayal of an Australian. I feel like the majority of people judge Jai based on his acting career rather than who he is as a person. I loved him in Spartacus and Suicide Squad, the interview's i've seen of him show that he's willing to share anything and everything with a great sense of humor. He's a genuine dude at heart, godfather to the late Andy Whitfield's children, got a tattoo in memorial and supports the United Service Organization. Despite the fact that no actor has ever remarked having a problem with him, i personally think he's a nice guy, not stupid or awkward as some claim. Let's not all jump on the bandwagon, look into it first. One interview doesn't cut it, it's Stephen after all, he makes everything cringey.

    • @Paperballable

    Alot of people talking about how awkward the interview was. I gotta agree, but it's not all Jai's fault. Yes, he's clearly not a complete extrovert so interviews don't seem to come naturally to him. But it's also about the questions. There's more to Australia than frigging boomerangs and crocodile dundee and "throw a shrimp on the barbie". If Americans were going on chat shows and being interviewed on tired old cliche subjects that stereotyped Americans, they might get sick of it after a while too.

      Huh, probably because Canadians aren't on the news everyday because of another mass shooting of civilians or police, or drawing massive attention of the wrong kind for being horribly close to putting a self serving megalomaniac into office. I'd vote Trudeau on the premise of uniting my country and fixing our horrible First Nations issues before ever voting for some bigot like Trump or a greasy crook like Clinton.

    • @harpoff8658
      @harpoff8658 8 років тому

      Yeah don't kid yourself, even if Canada was on the verge of electing a megalomaniac like Donald Trump the world would likely pay very little attention. Cute attempt to make your countries lack of international attention out to be due to its lack of negative qualities though. Childish, but not surprisingly so as that kind of attitude is surely the one that led to lil' Trudeau's election. If you wanna be on the news so bad just wait a few years, Justin's ridiculous determination to bring in Syrian migrants will place you guys in the international spotlight just like France or Germany recently. If you think maybe his well informed cabinet, whom he filled with the best and the brightest would be able to make him see the folly of his ways, you are sadly mistaken. Instead of appointing the "best and the brightest," he dictated 50% of his cabinet had to be female. Know why? "Because it's 2015" (If you ever run across a "because its the [current year]" joke now you know where it came from). Great job Canada, matters of your countries highest importance are being decided on the kinds of ideals a college freshman would make. Consider yourself lucky no one pays you any attention.

    • @danepotmo2513
      @danepotmo2513 8 років тому +2

      Harp Off Canada is an "other" country. It is a country that doesn't project anything to anyone on its own, but is only thought of in relation to another country...the US. Like Wales to England. Like New Zealand to Australia. Like Norway to Sweden. Like Slovakia to the Czech Republic. Like Austria to Germany. Like Mongolia to China. Canadian praise is usually just an affectation, a way for America bashers to attempt to bash the US by implied contrast. Nobody has a real conception of Canadians. Nobody sees a distinct identity. The people who rattle about how "polite" Canadians are, how wonderful Canada is, know absolutely nothing about Canada....because the point of the praise is to say "the US is not". Canada is a blank slate to everyone. You will see an endless list of online people accuse the US of "being the only nation that calls football soccer, or that plays gridiron"....because they are completely oblivious to Canada (who also call it soccer, have the CFL) being anything other than the nation bordering the US. This is why everyone thinks Canadians say "aboot", because they only know Canada/Canadians through watching American television....they have no original, direct view of actual Canada. Americans said Canadians are polite, non violent, small town lumberjack hicks to the world in movies/television, and it was basically just accepted. US entertainment defined Canadians to the rest of the world.

    How excited Canadians get in Australia if you ask where in Canada they are from. I started a new job back in the 1990s and was introduced to the Big Boss as we call them. Head of the Department. After his secretary introduced us, I was super shy and didn't really know what to say, but I said "Nice to meet you and what part of Canada are you from" He stared at me and I thought I upset him and was about to cry. He then said "I could hug you right now" sounding like he heard the best thing in his life and a smile from ear to ear. You are the first person in 20 years to be in Australia and not be asked where in America I come from". Feeling the red on my face, I could only squeak out "Well, they must not have listened to you properly or don't know the difference. " Back then I could pick out anyone from anywhere in the world. Today not so much because I lost my listening skills plus with a mixture of various ethnicities it's hard to pin point it sometimes.
