    @5:17, the hotend set temp drops to 140 degrees C. The G-code definitely has an error. Initially, the hotend is hot enough to extruded and wipe the nozzle, but things go haywire after that.

    I had this same problem new out of the box. For me though, sometimes the print would proceed after trying to home Z many times and crash the nozzle into the build plate. Sent Qidi a video of it and they said the auto leveling sensors were faulty. There are 4 piezoelectric wafers at each corner of the build plate base that compress slightly when the nozzle touches the build plate. They are epoxied on to H shaped brackets. I replaced all 4 as instructed and the sensor adapter boards, and it corrected my issues. I found 1 sensor broken off from the epoxy not adhering, and 2 were very loosely fastened. I hope this helps as mine is printing beautifully now. I want another one, but I've got to get more time on it than the 50 hrs I've used it for so far.

    Thanks. I was about to pull the trigger on this printer. It is one thing to try and build a printer at a low price point and have technical problems. That i can understand. To have support trying the wear a customer down is intolerable. Most notably 6 months the CEO says their focus will be on quality and support. Not a company you can trust with your time or money. Credibility in the toilet.

      This is exactly my world you're coming with here. I just hate the energy you have to put into it. I had used so much time and engineering skills on this machine, but it's out of common sense.
      Imagine if the same happened in the car industry, then the world would break down. Qidi only does it because there are more customers out there to scam. Thank you for the storry.

  • @Vimes.

    This is not good and so bad for you.
    This printer had been on my wish list for a little while. However, I am reading of board problems, heat chamber issues and then bearing concerns for the print head, bottom rail..?
    Point being, so much with this printer shows great potential, but much more quality checks should have been done before release.
    I would have bought mine through Amazon, at least the returns would have been easier.
    I will now probably avoid this one.
    Have you had a good outcome yet..?
    All the best

    Qidi should not expect customers to go through this hassle to fix a problem under warranty. They should have taken that printer back and offered you a replacement or refund. They seem to not hesitate "gifting" printers to "influencers", while regular customers get the middle finger. Shameful. Thanks making their response known so other can avoid them like the plague.

      You're so right. BUT now hear this NEWS. Qidi accept I shipped the printer back to Germany, for my own cost, Then they will ship me a new printer. I agree. BUT when shipping is EU 455, and I live 5 hours from Germany warehouse, I wrote to Support, _I just come white the printer in the car. NOW Qidi is dead silence. Course they don´t want the printer back. This company is a joke, and I don't understand so many UA-camr works for a company, that behave this way.

    • @nautilusbrlist
      @nautilusbrlist 16 днів тому

      @tecknotworking20 That's insane. They don't deserve anyone's business. People should be taking note of all the so called "influencers" pushing Qidi and ignoring their shitty practices.

    • @tecknotworking20
      @tecknotworking20  16 днів тому +2

      We are on the same page here. I have actually asked some influencers, but they are quiet about how they get the machine to work, as so many others don’t. They don’t answer. But I don’t care, I have a ton of material on the X Max 3 and I make videos twice a week. I’ve also started asking UA-camrs and influencers if it’s only about the money, or if they are proud of the work they do, because they are betraying the consumer.

    Do you have any suggestions as to a similar printer you would get instead? I want to print at 350C and for the price I wanted a Qidi but now I’m afraid :)

    • @tecknotworking20
      @tecknotworking20  17 днів тому

      Thanks for asking. I really don’t know, as I use high-temperature filament and use the heated chamber nearly every time. The K2 from Creality could be an option, but it is pricey, so I’m waiting for the Creality Ender 5 Max. I think..

    Maybe i can help you out. Had the same issue once and if you check Fluidd -> console there should be something like "...mesh probe inconsistency" every time it try to calibrate. As i can see you are using a good amount of glue stick on your PEI plate (looks similar to mine as i had the same issue) wash all the glue stick off with dish soap and try again. After that my mesh leveling was again working.

    Until yesterday, I was hesitant about getting a Plus 4, but this video conviced me that choozing a Bambu was the right choice. I remain convinced that Qidi will be a good brand, but they don't test their products enough before bringing them to market.

    • @tecknotworking20

      If I was you, I will buy a Bambu Lab. Qidi is not testing there 3d printer good enough, and if you are unlocky, you get a machina as mine, and support center is long away. Thank you for your support

    Have you tried resetting the defaults, and then following the setup calibration from start to finish, including setting the Z offset , as if it was a new machine. Mine has worked perfectly since it was delivered. Do you have Firmware v1.6 installed?

    • @tecknotworking20
      @tecknotworking20  26 днів тому +1

      @@RCModelling4U I try that, But was upgrade the firmwear, by the online service on the machine, and was toold that, is`t not possible. Firmwear upgrade must go by usb stick, so this I have to try. But new problem showed up, this time is was the bearing in the hotend, that`s loose, so the printer Go back if the firmwear update from usb stick, not work.

    Hey there, I had Plus 4 serial number 215 from EU warehouse and after a long discussion with Qidi (4 weeks) they let me exchange the printer with a new one for free. You just need to keep talking when them and say the problem is not solvable from your side.

      @@jmcmillan602 I agree, but it is not my job to replace so many parts that are not fixed and ready from the company from the beginning. My printer was from the first batch, and they said it was okay, but it can’t print. In 3d printing there will always be some replaysment.
