Naticycle in NJ USA is waiting on receiving a demo Storm, and taking $500 rsvp pre-orders, who else? Luna Cycles in CA USA has a Storm demo bike and first right of refusal but I think they're comfortable selling bicycles and doubt they will take the leap to be a motorcycle dealer. Are Naticycle for real? I've only really heard of Luna Cycles and if they're not interested why don't they ship that demo to some shop that will actually sell it?
The clutch is not just to keep a bike from stalling, it is needed to manage the power when you may not be able to back out of the throttle due to loss of control or body positioning. Figure it out and apply it.
The reverse feature is awesome. There's so many times I could use reverse. I'm only 5'7 with short legs so backing up a heavy dual sport with just my toes toes touching the ground is challenging.
How long will last the Battery? 1. how many minutes in sports mode riding a mx circuit? 2. how many kilometers driving at a speed of 90 km/h through the fields or on street?
Great looking bike. Just the 4 hour charge time turns me off, 2 minutes to fill a petrol bike and go again. I mention this as when I ride the trails we can cover up to 200 miles in a day. Being in the uk not far to nip off and get fuel.
I race MX and have hour meters on my bikes and I usually do 1 hour per day and dont remember the last time I even got close to 2 hours so I think I'd be ok with a 4 hour charge.
swappable batteries though yeah, they are heavy and hard to carry spares on the trail lol still, if doing a set track in loops its an option for a "pit stop"

@@vincentpernicano3277 Yes it is but it can sustain that power output.. Electric on the other hand can't.. Best controller, motors and batteries can take peak power only for fewinutes.. You would see the difference right away in desert racing and not because of temperatures.

Only complaint is the suspension. It looks like Fast ACE is a bicycle suspension, maybe? either way, my 2020 rmz450 has 49mm forks, so if you wanna compete with full sized dirt bikes then might as well use the same suspension.
Lot's of folk have been waiting a long while for the Storm Bee from Sur Ron. When will it ship to Europe, and will the road legal version ship at the same time as the dirt bike?

@@squarecracker But the KTM has a great frame, suspension, brakes etc... With this bike the electric motor part isn't the part that gives me the most worries... It's the chassis... I'm a bit worried it can't compare to the japanese and EU motocross bikes, those have evolved a lot over the years. Standard bikes are really really great these days, with aftermarket suspension they're awesome. We've ridden KTM with WP Cone Valve / Trax the past few years, don't think Sur Ron comes close to this or even a stock SXF. Would love to try an electric bike but I'm not gonna trade in superb handling for something less...

They need to start immediately with better names. Something relatable as the range grows. Hp, Kw……what ever to better relate them to their gas equivalent to allow people a perspective to make the transfer. Having said all that the KTM / Husqvarna style swing arm is a nice touch👍

Rather than trying to market it as a motocross bike, it would seem this bike is best suited as a fun bike. In that context, it looks great.

Heavier than my Serow (XT225, 1992 model), less USABLE power on the road, less range, lower cruising speed (30mph?!), and a 4 hour charge time. Still got a long way to go, electric. I couldn’t safely ride that in UK anywhere but a local run to the shops (moped style). Les
it's a cool bike but way to heavy, it needs to be closer to 220LBs for Moto especially considering in only has 30hp and the price point is too much to just be a bike to screw around on. With all that being said its a cool bike and its in the right direction and Im betting that it will keep getting better and better.
Why does everyone always just consider hp, I suppose not everyone has a background in physics...hp is not in the equation for acceleration, but torque certainly is. You want torque, not hp.
@@vincentpernicano3277 it's simple math, Hp/weight ratio. Just like how we compare cars. A 2021 yz250f weighs 233lbs and puts out 39hp, this electric bike weighs 273lbs and puts out 30hp. That means that the 2021 yz250f has 30% more horsepower and 17% less weight. Regardless of what you think, the 250f will be faster and easier to ride around the track or on the trails and you won't have to worry about batteries. Also, your argument about more torque is invalid due to the fact that bikes with less torque already struggle for traction, so increasing this value is not going to benefit anyone, the only time more torque is beneficial is when you have the traction or grip to be able to utilize it. Therefore increased hp and tire rotational speed are slightly more important than torque in this situation.

I grew up riding gas powered bikes and atvs. I have now built an electric dirt bike so unlike many people commenting here, I have actually experienced both and have spent a lot of time researching the topic in order to have enough knowledge to complete my conversion. I used to ride my 2007 rm 125 in it's original gasoline state...eventuay motor blew up after years of use and I decided to convert it to electric. My electric hp is equivalent and it is a beast compared to when it was gas. My mom's x-boy friend was a motorcross racer. He hopped on the bike this Tuesday and was blown away by the performance. He said it would undoubtedly be competitive in the 125cc class. All im saying is go and experience the difference for yourself, maybe you have had a chance to ride that bike already, who am I to say. I just think it is more likely you are stating an uninformed opinion about the power of gasoline and electric and have no basis of comparison other than the number in front of hp.

47mm forks is a bit of an oddball size. All the Japanese and Euro bikes have been on 48mm since at least 2004.
