Great job kevin. I am an aircraft mechanic of 24 years here in the States. Worked on army helicopters for 21 years. He is a great instructor. I think its awesome you bought that plane.
lol im currently a mechanic on the HH-60 in the USAF but i agree going the extreme route responsibly
I used to commute on a gsxr super sports bike for 6 years. Yeah it wasn’t comfy but I was bloody fun so good on ya for buying something impractical to commute with at least you’ll have fun and not be bored.
absolutely!! Life's too short for boring things!!
Yeah, I was commuting on a K6 GSXR1000. Did some miles on it too
I had no idea you had other caNnels
I am a student pilot myself having flown a flex wing and a small piper and just listening to you and how well you fly is amazing. Yes you are definitely going from 0-100mph plane wise you have at least got the balls to do it!. Enjoy every moment but remember just to keep an eye on what is happening around you at all times and your touch and go landing was great!. Don’t stop your passion hun xx ❤✈️✈️✈️
You have a very nice instructor and he seems very patient and enjoys teaching .
At the end of the day , 18 year old boys would fly hurricanes and spitfires in WW2 so doable but ruddy brave!
I can say I thought that can’t be true but then google proved me wrong haha absolutely crazy
and how many died? and they didn't learn on spits, they learned on trainers. THAT'S the difference.
@@scottshipley570 lol i want to say how what would make you think hes wrong but then i remember what we have for 18 yrs olds today
Don't BASH this one kev please!! LOL👍👍
🤣
Since you mention it, I think the phrase “flying by the seat of your pants” relates to the “feel” and feedback you get through your arse. In WW1 the RFC pilots didn’t initially like the parachutes they were given because it softened the ride, so they preferred to sit straight on the wicker seats.
Airline pilot here by the way, so I’m following this intently! We did a little bit in an extra 300 as part of upset recovery training. Aerobatics teaches you a lot about how to retain/regain control. Your capacity will increase quickly - don’t worry if you feel overloaded initially - it’s loads of info to take in. Keep at it!
Yes so much to take in it does feel a bit overloading at times! But so worth it!!
I can already see it in his eyes, hear it in his eyes, Kev's building one of those bi-wing kits. Ive only found Kevin's channel about a year or so ago but I know him well enough that, consciously or subconsciously, when he wants to do something, its good as done. I look forward to the upcoming plane build😎
Is there no kits out there to build say a hurricane or spitfire replica? I think that would be an amazing series of videos 👍👌💪
Your doing well Kev, but your instructor ist fabulous. I'm piloting for over 20 years now, and that reminds me of the beginning. Nothing in the world is like flying a plane.
Someone’s editing skills have improved! Great production value Kev, really unique views and insight.
Go on, build a biplane!
26:17 I’m glad you fully understand how dangerous this can be for a new pilot , be safe Kev ! We all want to see you succeed . Good luck with your training. Listen to your instructor, he knows his job , I remember when you told him that you bought the Extra , his reaction was priceless 😅
Great episode Kevin… Great story & narration… Stunning footage, fantastic editing & adrenaline pumping planes… Well done
Glad you enjoyed it thanks bro
Is your aircraft certified for IFR?
Without it, you'll be very limited by UK weather.
Although you should be aware that IFR flight in an aerobatic aircraft is a lot more dangerous than in a slower, stable aircraft.
If you want an adrenaline rush, fly the extra for fun.
If you want to live, don't use it to commute!
Flying that thing IFR would be a nightmare, especially with varying conditions 😳
@scaleworksRC I honestly fear that we'll be watching this guy on an accident review before long.
He has no idea how little he knows, and thinking you're better than you are in aviation is very dangerous.
His choice of plane for commuting says it all.
And the people facilitating this will have questions to answer if the worst does happen.
The only professional telling him the truth is the instructor, but you can see Kevin doesn't care about his opinion.
Wow. Was not expecting a flying lesson in this vid. That was awesome. Great job Kev!
Its so dang cool everything you have acomplished! Ive been into rc since i was a kid, its been 34 years lol. I started watching you when you were shy on camera and working in your little garage. Its AMAZING watching you succeed and have fun doing it! Thanks for all the great content Kev!
What an amazing air show, I bet that was a treat!
I know people are scared for you Kev, but it’s only because we care for ya! 😊
I wish you the best on this adventure. What a dream come true 🙌
Now that's a great trainer,shoot,I think I learned something!!!
He’s a great instructor, definitely someone I’d like to teach me..
I’ve always wanted to learn how to fly and this is pushing me into it
I’m an aerobatic pilot with my Pitts and Yak52 and the extra is an easy plane to learn to fly well. You’ll do great Kevin. I always wanted to fly to different locations, but I wanted to do it upside down.
Absolutely love the flying where the last plane spirals around the other two smoke stream.
Definitely love to see you building a pitts special. Awesome looking plane. Be good to have a choice of which one to have fun with
100%!! They are such cool planes
I really enjoyed that Kev!, especially the lesson in the C42 with Greg... He's a Top Bloke and so are you!... Happy Flying!
OH MY GOODNESS!! The camera angles, the audio in the plain, the quality, it's just perfect!
Love this vid kev it’s just cool the see you guys having fun in the plane and seeing what’s it’s like to be with you in a plane
Wow - really diggin' the shots from the new tiller and wing cameras!
Great video. Loved seeing the physics of the planes behavior with different speed, nose lifting and dropping. Instructor was excellent explaining it all too
I remember when the Extra was an experimental aircraft. This is a tried and true airframe and you're being trained by the best of the best. Don't listen to any armchair pilots. You'll be just fine.
Yes 100% a build series
You do what you want to. You've earned it. Once you master your plane a sesna will be a cake walk. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good job Kevin! I think you’re approaching the whole project perfectly. The Extra is a brilliant plane. When I qualified P1 I bought a Cessna 172 for touring and a Grumman AA1 Lynx for sports flying and racing. I’d only had a few flights in the AA1 when several people took great delight in telling me it had the highest fatality rate of all light aircraft with novice pilots! Very unhelpful, but the reality is that you learn the drill for each plane by wrote and it’s the pilot that makes any plane dangerous. Not the plane itself! Good luck!
PLEASE DONT DIE KEVIN!❤️❤️❤️ IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU. YOUR LIFE IS LIKE A DREAM.
"A random plane turned up and tried to get on our tail" is the coolest thing ever. I want one!
This airplane hobby is ABSOLUTETLY CRAZY
The camera shots and audio in the Cessna were perfect! Thank you for recording it!
Although there was more "action" at the air show, I really liked the flying lesson a lot! Your instructor is awesome and calm and the whole flight was pretty enjoyable.
For me this content is a nice change to the rcs. Can't wait to see you fly to the island of man.
Excellent kev, well done your be flying about on your own no time 👍
I'm excited for you to get your dream plane. Happy to hear you seem to be taking it seriously enough.
Remember Kevin: There are old pilots and bold pilots but there are no old bold pilots!
My favorite part of the video was watching you take off in the starter plane. This was awesome excellent job
Crazy enough watching a R/C lane do those stunts...EPIC knowing those were real planes!
I rarely comment, but just want to say the flying lesson bit was fascinating, entertaining, educational, and inspiring. Thanks Kev!
When I started watching this channel all those years ago I would have never guessed it would evolve into this. Amazing stuff.
Yes please build one. Exstensivly documented and techincal. More so than the monster truck. Much, much more so pliiz. So happy for you and ur upcoming adventures! U deserve it. Not that more and most are... but still. Mighty blessed mate
Кевин от души ПОЗДРАВЛЯЮ тебя с первым полетом! желаю удачи во всех начинаниях!
Я болею за тебя:)
Nice flying Kev! Great instructor. It's made me feel like I want a go 😃 👍🏼
Also, those Pitts are beautiful, yes please on a project with one of those!!
This flying content has been your best content keep it up! I recently got P2 certified (paragliding) and flew in France. I will be getting into speed flying for the adrenaline but there is something speactacular about being thousands of feet up in the air with nothing but the sound of wind
Kev, it's awesome!
And there's a lot to learn as my dad was a "fighter pilot" and..
" he said you have a nack for this"
And If you can save time "commuting" and you're vigilant
And aware of the dangers,
it's all good👍👍
Great video Kevin! Love to see more of you flying! You should absolutely build the kit plane and do a video series of it!
Now thats the type of video content I love.... and you nailed it twice... your flying was one but the actual flying instruction is the second... stay safe greetings from down under
Plus your instructor also amazing, greetings for him!
OOOOOO ITS CHRISTMAS EVERDAYYYYYY O look we got a new toy THISSSS is the arrma Mojave 6s! Keep up the vids Kev thanks 😂😊😊
Lets go Kevin!! Looking great, nearly ready to fly the plane yourself by the looks of things. Great vid! Love it.
Build it!!
What an awesome experience!!!! thanks for posting this!
FANTASTIC video Kev, I love seeing you and your plane, great content! I would love to see you build a kit plane.. keep these plane videos coming..
Im happy that you are happy kev. Hope your life is longcand more importantly fun!
oh go ahead and build one Kev
Aeroplane build video series would be awesome. Cheers for a fantastic video kev.😊

That was absolutely perfect, great flying Kev
Kevin you are amazing you do not mind this types of in the sky rush.
Being a pilot is a fine job to have weather pro or amatuer.
You are about more power and more power and now more adventure and daring you have the time and money for these things even experienced pilots can make mistakes weather pro or amateur spend your time learning about conditions and planning your routes you never spend too much time planning and learning these things will give years of pleasure and UA-cam time of you do the hard work to stay safe now and we will have a more power time watching your channel on youtube!
Sounds like your out of control lol. You sure do know how to keep it movin. Right on Kev!
Another great one Kev! I got nervous on the landing. Living I the dream you ledgend
THIS IS SICK!
You have to get a Extreme Flight Extra RC 3d Plane after watching this KEV... They do fly awesome.
Great job kev keep it up. The g force put 30 years on your face crazy 🎉🎉
YES build one. Love all the airplane videos! @16:11
Awesome video kevin, doin a great job. Brilliant teacher. It did make me chuckle when he said temperatures and pressures near the end of video, reminded me of James May.
The only added difficulty with the Extra over any other light aircraft is the Extra isn't designed to coddle the pilot. It's meant to be as slippery and maneuverable as it can. There are more comfortable planes to tour in for sure, but if you're going for content creation as well, I can see why you went for the Extra.
I still can't believe what hard work, Ebay, and UA-cam can make happen ! Good going Kev
Love the video It's cool how you show all the controls and how they work together
Can you imagine what its going to feel like the first time you actually commute with it!? I don’t mean your first solo, that will feel special but I don’t think it will be anything like the first time you turn up to fly it all by yourself 😊
I’m based in Sheffield, but frequently travel to south wales, 5+ hr journey.
For a year or so I’ve wondered about learning to fly, but only if it could be a viable way to travel without too much hassle. And only if I could do it in something better looking and more luxuries than a Cessna.
I’m enjoying watching this experience of yours 👍🏻
We have a saying in general aviation... Time to spare, go by air. Some people forget all the time it takes to plan a flight properly, pull A/C out from a hangar, check it over properly, waiting about for the weather if marginal. A good option for speed but sometimes when it's not VFR you'll need the car
Someone's really starting to enjoy themself!!
Great stuff Kev - very informative video as well.
Al.
That was smooth landing!
You must be having so much fun with that thing, good on ya.
I’ve been watching this with a huge smile on my face! Thank you for this Kev, needed this. Amazing video! I used to fly in a blimp, makes me miss flying so much.
You did really well there Kev. Nice and smooth, just like learning to drive. Then when you got the experience you can do your stunts. I think your stunt place is wicked, is it dangerous? Well only if you don't know what you're doing, but you've done it RIGHT by getting proper stunt pilots who fly them to teach you along with your instructor, who is really good too.
Great job, Kevin!
Kev that was the absolute dogs bollox the way that fella flew your plane and the other pilots 👍👍👍👍👍
Brilliant idea to build your own plane. Would love to watch it.
Cool instructor. Way more complicated than i thought 😯 And very interesting. Looking forward for more of this content 🤗
Man I'm a sucker for the sound of the old piston driven bi-planes!
Build series would be a great watch
wow.... both your instructors are good! one can just tell they know their stuff! by the way you did very well, you do have some natural ability there :)
I’ve met Richard Goodwin and showed me around his jets pit, what an awesome guy!
Kevin, I would definitely be interested in you building a new kit plane. Should probably master your current plane first but, you obviously do what you want. Keep it up
The thing is Kev, if you muck it up once you've had it...
Just don't get over confident please brother 🙏 ❤
Love the sound of the typhoon 😜
Building a full size badass biplane?? Hell yes!!
I would definitely watch a series. I'm big aviation nerd...
Have to congratulate you on the journey your on Kev, looks like you are making great progress with the flying lessons and it won't be long before you go solo(oh you even mentioned it at the end lol) . Keep up the good work and best of luck with it all.
It's good to see you try👍👍👍 I'm always rooting for you😊
Cracking video what a guy Mark is fascinating to hear his knowledge and experience
Poor Andy looks like he was going to blow chunks that looks awesome awesome plane Fela
Really enjoyed this one . . More from the Greg and Kev show please 🙂
Well done Kev... I was pretty captivated watching the flight at the end. Fantastic to watch..
