When they were little girls starting out they dreamed of having an album called The Warning. Then they entered a competition and quickly needed a band name and The Warning was born.

Actually the name was a “just for now” name but then they went viral as The Warning (ages 14, 12 and 9) so it stuck and is often the case quite prophetic.
But they actually started playing together around 12, 10, 7. Yes, they are Mexican sisters. & they are touring Europe as we speak.

The Warning Army will be here shortly. They went viral on UA-cam with this very song (closer to the original of course) when they were 14, 12 and nine years old. That video from 2014 is worth watching. They are about to release their fourth album in July. Everything they do is so good. They've released several singles from the upcoming album S1CK official video and Hell You Call a Dream live at the Pepsi Center are great. Also, they performed two songs last year on MTV VMAs and Evolve is a must. Anything from the live concert videos from Teatro Metropolitan is great but I'd start with Disciple and Dust to Dust.
The Warning is not only a band, it is THE band. They take influences from all over the place. Other artists, bands, books, Disney movies and papers, and then they melt it together and make great stories and songs with a message. They are recognizable through their style, their energy and how they perform. Three sisters who love music and who had a dream, to play their music to the world. They consider it art, hence they do it well until they are satisfied. They never release anything half baked it is all bangers and instant hits. They did the lion part of their beginning independent and did not sign until 2020, after 7 months of negotiations. Other record companies tried to change them and promised them audiences of 20.000 but The Warning told them they would be happy playing for 12 people, as long as they got to play what they want to play, and they walked out staying true to their integrity. They have worked really hard for what they are today and they are beginning to reap the fame they deserve. Other heavy bands and artists are recognizing them and paying tribute to them. Lzzy Hale gave Dany a guitar (the Gibson you saw in this clip) and Matt Belamy gave her a one of a kind mustard yellow Martin guitar. They are all inspired by this band and have taken them under their wings. Their 4th album (The second of a five album contact) drops on the 28th of June, only a couple of days after they return from a three gig (One with Band-Maid and two of their own in Osaka) in Japan. On this friday 5th they are dropping their fourth song from that album "automatic sun" which is I am sure is going to be another heavy hit (They have played it Live). Go for it and enjoy The Warning!

Best Gen Z hard rock power trio on the scene today. Drummer won Drumeo's 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year, bassist is a Spector Bass featured artist, and the guitarist has been personally gifted guitars by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Matt Belamy of Muse, both acts they've toured with.
And in the same year 2023 Pau was voted up and coming drummer by Modern drummer magazine.
This band is probably the most important thing to happen to rock music in the last decade, and maybe this century. As others have said, they don't really have any bad songs. I have their last three albums, with the fourth on order, and I've heard everything they have officially released. I'm 68, so an old '60's and '70s rocker. Ex operations manager for a college radio station in the '70s, too, and have mixed sound for live bands. So I know great music (classical, jazz, rock of all types (especially prog), country, folk, blues, soul, and more... The Warning have a uniquely eclectic sound. They are highly intelligent people who have been writing insightful songs since they were 15, 13, and 10! They celebrated ten years as a legitimate band last October, and they are now just 24, 22, and 19! Sisterhood has its advantages when you are a band. It doesn't hurt that Dad ran a recording studio at one time, and built a small one in their basement for his girls. They still write, compose, rehearse, and produce demos out of that room. The family travel together on tour, along with a small group of expert managers and technicians. In 2022, they performed about 110 shows, with another 75 or so in 2023. This year's schedule features dates in Europe, Mexico, South America, Japan, and the USA. Many of their concerts are already sold out! Album #4, *Keep Me Fed,* is pre-selling now for release on June 28. The singles, *More, S!CK, Hell You Call a Dream,* and *Que Mas Quieres* are out now. *Automatic Sun* debuts on April 5. There is a version of *Hell You Call a Dream* Live at Pepsi Center, that is must-see material!

As stated. This version of *"Enter Sandman"* was on *Metallica's Blacklist Album* released in 2021 for charity to celebrate Metallica's 30th Anniversary of their *Black Album.*
Metallica chose over 50 artists to cover a song from the Black Album. Artists was allowed to do what they want with the cover they had. *EXCEPT THEY COULDN'T CHANGE THE LYRICS.*
Metallica asked Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara to performed. Well, a man who works for Alessia Cara also works for The Warning. He suggested both artists do a collaboration.
The Warning did a straight up cover of *Enter Sandman* back in 2014. When Dany (guitar, vocals) was 14. Pau (pronounced Pow / drums, vocals) was 12. And Ale (pronounced Aleeh / bass, vocals) was 9.

Welcome to The Warning and their fan base The Warning Army (TWA). More TWA members will be dropping in with lots of info. For me, this band is the best live band I've ever experienced. They write incredible lyrics, then create amazing musical arrangements to the lyrics, and follow it up with magical shows. Only band I've ever followed that doesn't have a single song that I dislike or am meh about. To top it off, they are some of the nicest, down to earth people I've ever met. They’re all highly trained in their instruments and have vocal coaching as well, and in this 2022 concert were 22/20/17 years old (g/d/b). And they just celebrated their 10 year anniversary as a band last year.
You say you might never have come across them. I have to differ. They are simply the best trio on the planet, and within the next year, millions more people will know. They'll be on the cover of every music magazine in the Western world except for Uncle Larry's Polka Gazzette. You're going to want to get yourself up to speed before their 4th album drops in late June. I'll be happy to watch anything you do and you'll be getting all the info you're heart desires because you've opened the Pandoras box. 73 years here. I didn't really like harder rock before but The Warning has changed all that. I just wish I had learned of them a little earlier in my life. If they get near with a performance I will still go see them live. Metallica asked them to perform this for their 'Black List' album - a tribute to 30 years since the release of the Black album. This is track #1 on the album. These sisters a phenomenal performers, their live stuff definitely eclipsing the studio versions by the energy they bring alone. Being from Mexico, Spanish is their first language, but you wouldn't know it to hear them speak, and the lyrics they write. To top it off, they are such lovely personalities, and beautiful human beings. They are all classically trained pianists, and have been together as a band for 10 years. Alejandra (the youngest and the bass player) was just 9 years old when they started ... there is plenty more information from other posters, so I won't get in too deep here!

Lieben, my understanding on how they got the name The Warning, is that they were having some kind of show I think at school but not sure, and they were about four bands. They were the only girl band and all the other bands had names and the girls didn’t have a name for the band but they had a song called the Warning, which they hadn’t finished or were never going to play, so they needed a name for the band and therefore, The Warning name was born. This information is in one of their vlogs or documentaries. The sisters were very young when they formed the band, 13,11, and 8 today they are well seasoned musicians at 24,22 and 19 still very young with one EP and three LP’s and a new album coming out this June and are currently on 22 cities tour in Europe. The Warning are the Villarreal sisters Daniela 24 guitar, Paulina 22 drums, Alejandra 19 bass.
The name came about when when they were going to play in a battle of the bands in their hometown. All of the other bands had banes but they didn't. As they were discussing possible band names Pauluba suggested the using the name of their fictional album "The Warning." They said they could change it to something else later, so it was supposed to be temporary, but they kept the name after this performance. They said they considered "The Peppermints" but luckily didn't choose that.
The next song to consider is "Hell You Call A Dream" live from the Peosi Center CDMX. It is a single from their up coming album "Keep Me Fed" June 28.

The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track!
They are going to release their 4th studio album "KEEP ME FED" June 28th, 2024. And 4 singles off the new album have already been released: "MORE", "SICK", "HELL YOU CALL A DREAM", and "QUE` MA`S QUIERES". They premiered another song "Automatic Sun" LIVE 2 days ago. It should be released any day now.
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 24, 22 and 19 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #50 original songs (not including the remaining songs from the upcoming 4th studio album).
Drummer Paulina writes around 75% of The Warning's songs. Most of her songs begin in rock ballad form; starting with a concept, then chord progression, melody and basic song structure on the piano. She may only have a verse and a chorus when she brings it before her sisters. Together they transpose each instrument's part and "rockify" the song. They complete any lyrics, bridges and any arranging, etc. making changes along the way. A 2/3 approval vote of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Paulina has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both guitarist Daniela and bassist Alejandra write equally great songs; just not as many.
Drummer Paulina recently won Drumeo's 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year and won Best Up and Coming Artist in Modern Drummer Magazine's recent reader's poll.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR. I have talked with their parents on 2 occasions and have had many conversations with their manager Rudy.
Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.

My recommendations for your next reaction:
* Anything else from the Metropolitan concert. Breathe was not performed live there; the recording was played during a brief intermission for them to change from black to white costumes; the only live performance was last year at the Pepsi Center, but thus far there are only fanvids. Everything else was performed live. If you want a specific song recommendation, I suggest Disciple.
* Evolve and More from the MTV VMA (Video Music Awards) last year. Evolve was also in the Metropolitan set; More was not.
* Hell You Call A Dream (often referred to as HYCAD) from the Pepsi Center. There is also a lyric video, but I greatly prefer the live version, which is much heavier. Very powerful, intense song.

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one. They start their second European tour in a couple weeks. Sold out shows in 11 countries. Wacken in June. Then Japan. The next legit super group
Their Wacken gig is July 31 and the next day they play in Pol'and'Rock in Kostrzyn (in Poland but very close to the german border).
They start this Thursday.... April 4th in Madrid, Spain...
Just a few hours for the start of their second European tour actually.

Their new stuff is amazing and a great start would be Evolve from the 2023 MTV VMAs but if you want context you can go back to their 2014 cover of Enter Sandman or better yet their 2016 or 2017 TedX performances where they talked and performed originals. Their evolution is awesome.
Their first cover of enter sandman when they were very young has 25 Million views and counting if you care to check it out.

You need to go back to them as young girls doing enter sandman in their basement for their grandparents, too long for an e-mail, so they put it on you tube to send it and it went viral, that was basically their start. Danny was 12, Pau was 10, and Ale was 9 if I remember correctly. What grabbed me was Pau's concentration on the drums at such an early age.

Like many of my generation ( 65 years old). I had lost interest in the current music scene. I discovered TW in 2019 and bought my first concert tickets of this millennium to see them open for Three Days Grace in 2022… money we’ll spent. I find myself constantly checking for upcoming opportunities to see them again. The only band I would consider travelling internationally to see.

TW is a terrific band and certainly a tremendous breath of fresh air in the rock scene.
As many in TWA will suggest, the 4 best next steps would be: 1-check out their 2014 cover of ES which pretty much launched their career (video has over 25 million views); 2-check out their 2023 MTV VMA performance of Evolve; 3-check out other songs from this same amazing concert at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City (CDMX); and 4-check out their most recent live release a few weeks ago of Hell You Call a Dream.
[Edit] I meant to add that my “steps” are not suggesting an order but rather 4 different ways to experience them next. Any one of them would be a great way to go!

But speaking of original version, you can't go wrong by checking out The Warning's straight cover of Enter Sandman that really launched them & showed the girls that they really could do this...
I would suggest the live version of "Hell You Call A Dream" from their official channel to do next, it's the latest song from their upcoming fourth studio album, "Keep Me Fed" due out June 28th. Always choose live if available as long as its not a fan-cam. This band is amazing live.

I think you'll be surprised at just how large their catalog is, and how much is on YT. They're dropping a new album at the end of June, and have already released almost half the songs on it; Automatic Sun drops on Friday.
