  • Welcome along on my 3rd session on the new Armstrong MA1750. This was my first successful paddle up. I got on foil a few times on this downwind session, but this was my only sustained flight.
    This foil is a lot more difficult than the Axis PNG1150. The 1150 unlocked the downwinding for me but my Armstrong HA foils are still too difficult to paddle up. The MA1750 is what I hope to progress to from the PNG1150 and the stepping stone needed to bridge the gap so to say to the HA foils.
    The breach recovery of this foil is unbelievable. I breached and was expecting to land right on my face, but I just rode it out like nothing happened. I was so surprised I promptly fell!
    I’ve only have a few sessions on this foil, and as you can see I’m still struggling. But, it feels doable. I am working on learning to flat water paddle it up.
    Keep foiling my friends. So much fun! Never give up!
    😂😎🤙

    Super fun. I saw the breach happen while watching and I thought to myself, "that looked like the entire foil just came out of the water." Amazing recovery (although short lived!).

      Breach recovery is amazing on this foil! I was just so surprised I crashed! 😂🤙

      Yeah the entire range of MA have insane breach recovery. Took me a bit to get used to it. You expect the board to hit but the foil catches. So wild.

    hey mate your killing it, and thanks for the commentary, what size is your board?

      Thx! 7’6” by 22” wide 100L. I’m 175lbs. 80kg. Pro riders are going less than 18” wide, but then it’s hard to balance.

    Great video. Thanks for sharing. Looks like the 1750 paddled up pretty good. What pump are you using?

    • @flightjunkie808
      @flightjunkie808  Рік тому

      K-pump mini. Only takes 5 minutes to pump up. Great system.

      How does it work on connections to wing?

    • @flightjunkie808
      @flightjunkie808  Рік тому

      @@chuckcoffee I took the fitting off the end of my kite pump hose and crazy glued it on with one of the rubber adapters the pump comes with. Works good.

    So you bring a pump with you to pump up the wing on the water?

    • @flightjunkie808
      @flightjunkie808  Рік тому +1

      Yep. Only takes 5 minutes. The pump is called the K-pump mini. 😎🤙

      @@RobWestgeest-m6p Sorry. Got lazy posting the setup details. PM795 mast. 60 fuse. And my favorite tail for trying to paddle up the MA1750 was the crisp 333 tail. The glide 220 gives you more forward drive when you pump, but it's slow and draggy. The speed 180 loosens it up and makes it turn better and reduces drag. But you gotta keep the speed up when pumping. The crisp 333 tail has the most forward projection when pumping and has a surprisingly low drag profile. Now days the biggest foil I usually ride it the HA1180 with either the speed 180 tail or the dart 140. 😎🤙

    What’s the best to roll up the wing and keep it dry?

    • @flightjunkie808
      @flightjunkie808  Рік тому

      Well, don’t fall. 😂 Then your wing is dry. Sit down and hold the wing up off the water. Turn wing upside down. Deflate leading edge first and hold the strut up and gather it up without letting it touch the water. When all the air is out then deflate the strut. Some people use a trash bag to stuff the wing into. I don’t do that. Just gather it up as dry as possible and stuff it in the dry bag. 😎👍 2.5m wing is nice and light on the back but the 4.5m wing goes upwind better.

  • @JasonKadlec
