  • Casey Stoner, a former MotoGP champion, is still closely involved in the motorcycle racing industry and closely follows the happenings of each season. The retiring Australian racer responded candidly when new MotoGP regulations for 2027 were recently introduced, capturing his interest. In an effort to advance the competition, these restrictions bring about considerable modifications to aerodynamics and electronics.
By the time the 2027 MotoGP season arrives, ten years will have gone by since the last significant regulatory change for the series was implemented in 2016. In that year, Dorna Sports' ambitious ambition to increase grid numbers and the competitiveness of a championship ravaged by the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis came to fruition.

Just how Ducati had to be allowed 1k extra rpm after Japanese manufacturers dominated for 20 years? Lmfao

I don't want to speculate, but I don't know why it crossed my mind that I think the 2027 regulations are based on the wishes of the JAPAN manufacturers to DORNA lol... who have been unable to compete in the last 3 years with Ducati.... to be honest, lowering the CC from 1000 to 850 is very doesn't make sense... damn..

Motogp should rid the motorcycles of electronic assistance, speed, & tuning down the aero. They should not lower the engine size from a 1000cc to a 850cc this is ridiculous. If anything make the 1000cc to a 1150cc, also you don't have to increase the speed because you have a larger engine. And I think you are so right that Japan can't keep up with "European" advancements that they are now starting to complain & cry. So now motogp is going to change the rules to make it easier for Japan to compete. This makes you look weak 😔🤒.

I have to agree with Stoner's comments. I don't want to see "road relevant" bikes with lots of electronics to make them easier to ride, I want to see snarling beasts that very few can tame. I don't want to see races won by engineering advances, I want to see races won by the best & bravest.
Get rid of the bullsh!t & bring back the true prototypes & may the best man win.

I totally disagree with you and stoner, otherwise we would be riding racing bikes today identical to manx nortons ajs 7r etc. The best talented riders always extract the best from whatever machine they are riding, look at young Acosta, development has resulted in abs, traction control, change of engine response mode at the click of a button for us road riders. Bikes today also benefitting from programmable fuel injection, with increase reliability, increased performance from similar sizes engines of yesterday, what’s not to like with technical progress. Would you like to be watching black and white to today. Wake up smell the coffee. My 4 cylinder z1b 900 produced 83 bop, today a twin cylinder like the new Honda 750 transalpine produces more with a lot less weight etc. Stop listening to the old school boys who like mm, stoner, are trying to make out they stand out as more talented because their bikes were less complex, they had the most technical advanced bikes under them at the time they were winning. If you follow your thinking and stoners, we are going to end up with Dorna calling the shots for financial gain, ie ticket sales etc rather than technical excellence leading the way. If you want more competitive racing go watch bantam racing, or scooter racing and leave MotoGP to the real men. Thanks

Give 'em bikes with no electronics & no aero & see who can actually ride the beasts is what I say.
