Do you direct bill to all insurances? If they don't recognize you as a provider and they don't want to pay- do you still charge them for what the insurance does not pay around the 40 day leeway you give for insurance coverage? Do you only see the underserved population (Medicaid here in the US) or take elderly government insurance (medicare) or strictly stick to insurances that consider RDHs as a provider?

I do! If I cant direct bill and its a manual form, I still estimate what the difference would be. Sometimes patients end of owing more but they don't mind! I still to insurances that accept dental hygienists or the patient would pay cash.

    Hello!!
Do you find going mobile financially stable? Is it comparable to working in private practice?

MosaicJewels at the beginning, paying off the big loan is the main goal :). But after that yes!! Let’s say a visit is $150 for a cleaning, in office you may make $30-50 that visit . So it’s more fun to work for yourself

    Hey Andrea,
I'm a dental hygiene graduate as of one year ago from Florida. I've had to retake a few of my exams and am stuck on my clinical exam. I've taken my clinical exam twice now and am scheduled to take it a third time in July. How can I improve my scaling and root planing even though we were discouraged from practicing without supervision? I really want to pass so I can start practicing formally, but I need more skill before I can get a passing score. Any advice?

Music Fluency and Literacy great questions! I completely understand. Have you reviewed some hygiene clinical UA-cam videos? Hygiene Edge is amazing at showing instrumentation. Although not hands on training, it’s still helpful to watch those videos. Also, can you go back to a previous instructor/school and ask them to teach you some additional hands on skills?

@@dentalelle Hey yes I've been reviewing Hygiene Edge's videos and am meeting with my instructors in the next week to discuss instrumentation strategies. Thanks for responding Andrea, your videos helped me so much while in hygiene school!
