Why the hell is the rest of the country adopting any policys that are coming out out of California. California is destroying itself with its own disastrous policys. The way they are using truck speed limiters is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Yes it makes sense to not allow commercial truck to go 90 or 100. But at least allow them to do 80 to keep up with traffic or get out of the way. These limited trucks cause huge traffic backups ever day because you will get trucks in every lane and at the same time and nobody can get around them.

It was a dumb idea to close down parking areas and rest areas to begin with, also, I will not tolerate an inward facing camera, outward facing camera toward traffic is okay. And until you get rid of the speed limiters The trucks will continue to be a nuisance; Unable to power up for mountains steep hills and get by obnoxious drivers that won't let us over. It's pretty annoying when you have no throttle to get out of dangerous situations. Another thing, the electronic safety gear on the trucks, proximity sensors, auto braking, lane sensors are a complete nuisance to the driver and do not do anything for safety. All it does is make the driver want to rip out the speaker system. So a driver Doesn't have to listen to the bells and whistles. It's not the driver's fault that everybody wants to cut them off constantly. Why not spend the excess money on an ad campaign emphasizing how to safely drive around trucks?.

Not quite sure how well that would work for equipment that needs extreme reliability and paid for by the taxpayer. Maybe there could be a required break in fighting every 4 hours so tanks could do a regen 🤔

As if limiting speed isn't enough, some companies even turn down the HP as well. So anytime there's an slight uphill, the truck slows down. On a major mountain grade uphill, I'm only doing 20-25 with only 15k loads, while in the past, I used to do 40-45 up the same grade.

Sadly, with how stupid, selfish & irresponsible most drivers seem to be, putting a speed limiter on all vehicles might be prudent. Most people, like most corporations, are apparently incapable of properly policing their own behaviors - which is why we need laws, regulations & proper enforcement to begin with.

Speed limiters actually make it worse. If they came do the speed limit because of the limiter then they lose time and the only way to make up that lost time is to speed in the slow zone including work zones.

No ATA is for mega carriers only. To start fixing this industry is to eliminate brokers. Then anyone who wants to make rules need to have a minimal of 10 yrs OTR. Otherwise shut up. After treatment on trucks don't work. It cost to much money to repair. If these new emission engines are so great, then force the OEM'S to warrant the emission engine to 750,000 miles.

Go back to the original diesel engine, it's all the way you set the air and fuel mixture in the fuel pump. Emission problem solved. Bunch of blow hards.

I think some federal mandated speed limiters should be required. 70 or 75 should be max. I know a couple states have a legal limit of 80, but that is not the norm. Having a truck pass you doing over 80 in downtown Phoenix. it's not safe for a truck or most cars. Your load is not worth someones life. Ever see an MBI driver? (their drivers kill more people than anyone) 5 killed Jan 23 in AZ . Some reports said he was going over 68 mph in a 55 construction zone during morning commute.
The other legislation I would support would be a nation wide law like a few states have. Trucks can not use the far left lane when there is 3 or more lanes. A personal pet peeve of mine is when is when some entitled drivers think its ok to use the HOV lane just because they have a passenger.
(yes, I do have a CDL)
