- If you are on the fence about buying methylene blue because you don't know if it's worth it, this video is for you because here we are giving methylene blue treatment to my corydoras eggs! Now ya girl has a whole blue aquarium. Also, this goes without saying, but this video is applicable for (probably?) all fish eggs so I am not discriminating ;) If you stay tuned until the end, there's even a few tips for people that are taking care of eggs the OG way as well!
I have seriously been recording this video all week and it took me two days to edit so pls b nice. I hope I helped any of you in making a decision.

This was a big help to me as my Bronze Corys just laid a bunch of eggs. Thanks for posting.
Lol I like how every time there’s a new vid you add something new to it via work texts or something love the content
Omg you just gave me a big smile. 😭 THANK YOU sooo much. Seriously 💖🎶
Thanks for sending this information. Great video
Great video☺️ Corydoras fry are so cute 🥰
Thank you ❤️ absolutely! Forever my favorite fish in general
Thank you for sharing this experience! That's what this hobby is all about, learning from your own experiences and the experiences of others. Together we will figure it all out... one day 😆
This was a fun video to watch, you're so silly and that's entertaining!
Aww I really appreciate this comment. It's so true! I like seeing the fails and trials people go through in fishkeeping to remind me that were not all perfect ☺️
Thank you so much for your kind words 😁💙
Great video! I think I'm going to have to get some of these little catfish for the 36 gallon tank I'm going to setup. Your doing a great job with these videos.👍
totally! you wouldn't regret it. upload some vids too!
thank yoou
Great video 😊
I have juliis & pygmys. No eggs yet but most of mine are young.
I have 2 juvenile juliis loosing all coloring 😢 only med I have on hand is methelyn blue until kanaplex arrives Tuesday & api general cure body & fin tomorrow.
I hope I can save them. I'm fairly new to aquarium keeping. Plants got me hooked lol
Methylene blue is blue dye, it was used to dye blue jenes back in the day .
Super cute
what is that large floating plant you have in your tank??
Hi. When are we going to remove the eggs that attached to the tank when we see it.
I brought 3 pairs of Cory cats and in a weeks time they started dying one by one, two r left now. What could be the reason ? All other fishes in my 40 gallon tank r doing well!
o man I just realized after seeing the eggs that the eggs I thought were Nerite Snail eggs could have been coreydora eggs. I'm only thinking this now because I just saw yesterday onee baby corey in my 10 gallon. I was so excited. Thanks for your great Videos
No need to thank me John, I LOVE to help 😄 I totally know that feeling of misidentified eggs, CONGRATS cory dad!
How long have you had your corys when they breed?
my corys just laid eggs im not sure if there albino or gold laser ... i am using my new marina hang on breeder box its 2 litres hope this will work for them its the first time i am trying to raise them so any help would be appreciated
Hey Mandy 😊 oops, just saw this!
How exciting! They must be super happy. If you're really lucky (or unlucky, however you may see it), your albinos may have bred with your gold lasers 😳 lol.
I actually have an in depth guide on raising corydoras fry on my channel. I forgot to mention that if/when you do water changes with your fry tank, make sure you use water from your main tank or water that has been set out. I used to use conditioned tap water and my fry never ended up healthy 😢 good luck! I'm excited to see your uploads! 💙
Hi, Jill like the video's I use Alder Cones they are a lot better for the eggs than Meth Blue.

I’ll have to give this a try. I’ve got spawning my cory’s down but hatching is another game. I had 2 hatch that I didn’t even know had been laid. Most recent attempt failed miserably though:(
Hi there. I would love to know if albino bronze Cory's can breed with ordinary bronze Cory's.
Hi Kevin! ☺️
Yes, bronze and albinos can interbreed. They come from the same lineage, corydoras aenus. Any cory from the same lineage can interbreed 😁 although it is unlikely. I have pandas and albinos and they can interbreed but they haven't, and I've had them for almost two years.
Interbreeding cories is VERY looked down upon in the cory community (for some reason), so be wary 😭
@@JillsFishRoom thanks for reply. I have a small community mixed with albino bronze and ordinary bronze Cory's. They interact with each other well. Just wondered if it could happen.
Can you do a video about spawning triggers for corydoras
Hey Matt! That's actually a funny coincidence 😊 I'm already thinking up a vid for just that. Thanks for the recommendation!
How do you condition the corydoras and trigger them to spawn?
It depends. If you have common corydoras (albino, bronze, etc) it is very simple. My albinos just spawn because I have them in ideal water conditions.
Other people can get their corydoras to spawn by feeding them a nice variety of food like bloodworms and high quality sinking pellets. Corydoras tend to spawn early in the morning so another good way to get them in the mood is to do a nice water change a few degrees cooler than usual. This would simulate fresh rainfall which is a queue for breeding in the wild.
You could have corydoras for years and they wouldn't spawn sinply because they don't feel safe or the water quality isn't good enough.
I hope this helped a bit! 😊
@@JillsFishRoom Thank you for the speedy reply! This certainly helped and im going to follow closely what I learnt from you! Keep up the great vids!
@@supremecrackerr4687 Of course! I'm always here to help. I actually don't know anyone else in the hobby in real life so it's nice having people around to chat to about it 😊
Do you need a heater in the bucket or wateva you use to keep the eggs in?
Hey Tevin ☺️ In my opinion, keep your fry tank as cold as you can without bothering your fry. I hear that bacteria grows easier in warmer water. My fry tanks are usually around 20°C-22°C with my albino cories and they don't mind 😊
Same with eggs
Thanks for that will drop the temp on the fry tank. Im using meth blue for my 3rd batch now as you suggested hope i have a better success rate. One more thing , Did you do daily water changes for the eggs or just put the meth blue and left them until they hatched?
I honestly did like 1 water change, but then again my little bucket was kind of big. ☺️
Btw I had one batch that was terrible because I left my hatched fry in the methylene blue for a couple of hours so be careful with it! Good luck 🤞 cories are the best
Thanks again Jill keep up the great videos
Wow!!! Congrats on your corydoras spawning! That is sooo cool! Your corys are very pretty and the fry are so small and cute! This video was very informative and helpful! Thank you so much for sharing! Cool video! I loved it! Keep up the amazing work! I subscribed. i hope you do the same back! I have a channel about fish keeping as well. Lets grow together!!!😀
Thanks a lot Lazarus! I'm happy if I helped you a bit.
Def gonna sub back 😊
Your so smart!!!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤩🥰🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Hey Jill I'm enjoying your videos just wondering because you like corydoras are you following on Facebook the Corydoras Keepers Australia Group?
Thank you Paul I appreciate you watching them!
Yessss actually. I don't go on Facebook much but I peek in every now and then 😊 I've found a couple of breeders I will eventually buy fish from there.
@@JillsFishRoom Right hope to see you get some different Corydoras species sometime soon and recorded a few videos of them. NOT many UA-camrs produce Corydoras content with narration.
Definitely ☺️ hope to see you around more!
For what it's worth, your methylene blue isn't died blue. Methylene blue is a dye. And that's what color it is.

What did you spazz about?
Hydrogen Peroxide works best for me
Totally! I'm not collecting eggs right now because I have too many fry as is, but when my lasers start breeding I am definitely giving hydrogen peroxide a shot 🙂
Be sure to not use after they start hatching is the recommendation. Just for water changes until you see wigglers
6:14 wanna know the name that floating rounded leafed plant ♡♡ 🫠🫠🤤looks pretty thank you
