Nice job cutting up that caribou. Better than I would do. Back in the mid 80's, I was living in Makkovik, Labrador & I would go hunting caribou from the George River herd with some Inuit friends. The herd numbered about a half million then. We only made one trip inside Nain & would take back 6-8 animals each. Our snowmobiles were nothing like those today. Very fond memories.
I admire your way of cleaning the caribou but personally I would much rather bring back to town and do the skinning and butchering in my shed with a little bit of heat. I have done moose, deer and caribou that way. I have harvested several caribou with my .270 Tikka and 150 grain Federal soft points and never had the same damage to the meat as your 243 caused. I had all chest shots though. Great video.
Where’s the snow?? Man oh man that looks like a rough ride. Some Tylenol tonight for the sore muscles. Great butchering process. Thanks for sharing your hunt.
Big Water59 you don’t think these guys know what they are doing? I don’t think they are amateurs and I doubt this is their first hunt. Their ancestors have been hunting caribou for thousands of years. This was not their first rodeo.
Nice hunt!
It remembers me the time caribou were plentiful in Schefferville.
Thanks for sharing.
In the north of Russia we also hunt wild deer like this. 👍

As per the .243 it’s not the caliber it’s the bullet … What bullet you use?

Too many hunters ruin the hunt... You take to many chances on the ice, passing open water is just crazy.
Knowledge is key.
