The meaning of the feather is very beautiful knowing it’s a remembrance of ur mother. I lost my mom to cancer in early 2017. She was a huge fan of the cartoon character Betty Boop. So much so, she even had a red car she named The Betty. I think of her every time I see the character. I miss her all the time but I know she’s in a better place.
They both looks so good. Claudia's really showed the feathery design so well when lit up. And Jessica's cauldron is really cool! Both of them are far better than I could do.
Unlit, Jess’ is better - the shape of the cauldron gets lost when lit up and looks more like a fireplace than a cauldron. Lit, Claud’s is better - you can see the detailing and layers better. I think this just goes to show that Jess and Claud are two halves of the same coin. They complement each other so well!

For sure they are messages from Mum. How else would you see them so often? I don’t know that I’ve ever found a pure white flower, and I live in Hawaii where there are lots of birds.
Her prononciation is perfect and she speaks very clearly, she is easy to understand for me as a foreigner. Watching her videos helps me to understand oral and not only lyric, plus she is a very smart and interesting person, I could listen to her for hours and not being bored even if I don’t understand all since I am not fluent. Her wife is also very sweet❤️

I like both pumpkins, when Claudia's is lit I can see detail in the feather that I couldn't see before. I love Jessica's attention to little details for her pumpkin carving.
Seeing the way Jessica looked at Claudia talking about her mother and the feather story made my heart melt. You can see the pure love you two have. This is the wholesome content I needed.
What's good to do with the seeds is take them out of the goo and bake them until crispy! YUM!!!! We used to drizzle our seeds with a bit of olive oil and season them with spices we liked 😉😊🥰 Oh my dear sweet Claudia, that was such a wonderful story about your mom and sending the pigeons/doves off 💖💖 you just turned my heart to mush! I love both of them for different reasons now that I know the story behind the carvings! You both did a great job! 💯💯😀

Both. The concept of a cauldron with the tea lights is wonderful and the pumpkin flames at the bottom are neat. Claudia's feather is very detailed and the varied thickness looks really neat with the flickering lights as well.

They are both awesome designs I started to cry about the feather, my family has a similar thing with marbles with my grandma. They just show up in the weirdest of places she will always be with you and she loves you very much.
I can't pick, I like both in their own particular ways and I have to say how gorgeous they look when lit, I thought they were beautiful on their own, but then when lit, they reached a whole other level of beautiful and magical! 💜✨

As for the end results of the pumpkin carvings (btw, Claudia's face when she was scooping out the insides was priceless 😂), both are excellent ( cop out, I know). Jessica, yours is more in tune with the theme & spirit of Halloween. Claudia, yours ( which certainly fits the theme as well ) has more of a personal connection symbolizing & recognizing your mother. Claudia’s story about her mom made me cry. I relate. My mom died last year from cancer. It’s a horrific thing to witness. Both my sisters and my niece found feathers in really strange places and associated it as a hello from mom. I was upset because I had not found one. Then 1 day walking to the house, there was 1 directly in front of me, and a small bird sitting on the wind chime her oncologist sent us to her funeral. The strangest part is that my 3 yr old niece, every time she hears the wind chime she runs to it smiling and says “granny”

I didn't expect to end up crying watching a pumpkin video! Both me and my mum found a white feather on our car door handle (unknown to reach other at the time) and felt a surge of emotion and impending doom. In the morning we woke to the news my aunt, mum's sister, died from cancer the previous evening. We both feel it was a little goodbye note to us both ❤️

They both turned out gorgeous. And what a lovely story about the feather, had me tearing up. A craft blog I read carves over 100 pumpkins every Halloween. They suggest using a clay loop tool to thin the inside of the pumpkin to about an inch thick. It's supposed to make it a lot easier to carve and get lots of details. It would probably also make it easier on your hands Jessica.

Okay so I do slightly prefer Claudia's feather, the detailing is glorious, BUT Jessica, your cauldron works perfectly for a pumpkin lantern, with the fire and the orange glow! You're both so creative and you did amazing!
It looks like the bubbling on the top of the coldroun, looks like music symbols. Probably wasnt but it looks really cool and the flames are really fun. I really like the detail of the feather when lit up. ❤
This is so my husband and me xD he’s always done carving in like an hour max and I make a full days event out of mine xD I’m also the disabled one out of us and end up pretty much bed ridden the next day but it’s so worth it every year! Haha You both did an amazing job! The detailing it stunning! It’s really hard for me to chose a favorite but I think ima have to go with Jessica’s >.< I love cauldrons and am a huge HP Potions nerd so I just can’t pass up a good cauldron carving! :P
Before the tea lights we where claudia all the way! But with the tea lights in they both looked totally amazing! Miles better than anything I have ever done! I cant believe how artistic you both are!

My daughter says she prefers the cauldron because the fire really looks like fire and that’s a cool mechanism. I like the feather because the way the texture flickers with candlelight and I love the meaning.

These are both beautiful pumpkins! The detailing in the feather is absolutely exquisite. But I would have preferred it if it had some magical like... ink bits if that makes sense? Kind of like a quill from Harry Potter. Or if it was sparkly a little! Give it some magical looks you know? The cauldron is my favourite! I love the flames I love the bubbles and I love just how cavernous the pumpkin looks. Very magical. This one wins!

They suggest using a clay loop tool to thin the inside of the pumpkin to about an inch thick. It's supposed to make it a lot easier to carve and get lots of details. It would probably also make it easier on your hands Jessica.

I really like the detail you can see on Claud's feather when the lights are in it, and I love the way the fire under Jessie's cauldron looks! I don't know which to pick!

Okay so I do slightly prefer Claudia's feather, the detailing is glorious, BUT Jessica, your cauldron works perfectly for a pumpkin lantern, with the fire and the orange glow! You're both so creative and you did amazing!

It looks like the bubbling on the top of the coldroun, looks like music symbols. Probably wasnt but it looks really cool and the flames are really fun. I really like the detail of the feather when lit up. ❤
This is so my husband and me xD he’s always done carving in like an hour max and I make a full days event out of mine xD I’m also the disabled one out of us and end up pretty much bed ridden the next day but it’s so worth it every year! Haha
You both did an amazing job! The detailing it stunning! It’s really hard for me to chose a favorite but I think ima have to go with Jessica’s >.< I love cauldrons and am a huge HP Potions nerd so I just can’t pass up a good cauldron carving! :P

Before the tea lights we where claudia all the way! But with the tea lights in they both looked totally amazing! Miles better than anything I have ever done! I cant believe how artistic you both are!

My daughter says she prefers the cauldron because the fire really looks like fire and that’s a cool mechanism. I like the feather because the way the texture flickers with candlelight and I love the meaning.

I was expecting something worse but when you turned the pumpkin I was impressed - and I agree with Claudia, ur just being too hard on urself dear. Oh and C - amazing job with the feather! These are both beautiful pumpkins! The detailing in the feather is absolutely exquisite. But I would have preferred it if it had some magical like... ink bits if that makes sense? Kind of like a quill from Harry Potter. Or if it was sparkly a little! Give it some magical looks you know?
The cauldron is my favourite! I love the flames I love the bubbles and I love just how cavernous the pumpkin looks. Very magical. This one wins!
