      @@thra-x1855 The animals and plants aren't gonna massively die off just because of a few days of snow and low temperatures.
      I mean shit, they were probably aware of the coming weather long before us since, you know, they're outside all of the time.....
      While this type of weather isn't an annual thing, it certainly is part of the climate cycle for the region when you look at extended periods of time. There's nothing to worry about.
      On another note, the dinosaurs died out for several reasons. Climate changing being one of them. With that said, not all of them died out nor did all animal and plant life. Birds are literally living "dinosaurs". Not to mention many types of animals we see today have been around since those times as well.
      If this weather lasted over the course of an entire year then we'd have a hell of a lot to worry about.

Here in Cali, where I live, it reaches triple digits all the time in summer and near where I live there is way more than just 8 inches of snow.       @@deathstroke8639 I live in Pennsylvania we have blizzards heat waves everything....but my state would never shut power off in the Dead Winter.... unless like if a car hit a telephone pole in front of my house and my power was out.... But within like two hours they would have the power up and running

    Homes have single pane windows, concrete slab foundations, tile floors, etc. Our furnaces aren't high efficiency cold weather furnaces. We're not prepared for these temperatures. Right now our thermostats are showing indoor temperatures in the 40's. We are 🥶 COLD! !

      @@user-si4nk3lr5k I'm way out in the country in NE Texas, near Texarkana, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana. Brick rancher built in the 70s. Many just like mine all over this area. And, its true my home has some shifting, but doors and windows are still working great. If I were to stay here, I would have some foundation work done on the back corner of the house. Its about one inch lower.

    We in Texas are dealing with rolling blackout because we can’t meet the energy needs. Part of the problem is the lack of power from our wind turbines in West Texas which are frozen stiff.

      But the infrastructure isn't built to handle that. Building, pipes, the energy grid, etc. is built for the region. South Dakota anticipates that kind of weather and things are in place to accommodate it. Texas does not anticipate artic weather and has no preparations or accommodations to be prepared.. So, what is normal in one region can be deadly in another.

      Also local crops and even live stock can die when exposed to improper condition. Also not enough plow trucks, and not having the proper tires or vehicles for snow or even proper clothing. You can reason what happens when a region gets uncharacteristic weather the devastation it can cause.

      As always, it's refusal to allocate $$ for the needs of us proles. I lived in NH for 13 yrs. & as you well know, those plows get out there really quickly. Now, I live in NM. Entire Santa Fe county has less than 10 county plows, despite the fact that at 7000-ft altitude, the city gets some decent annual snowstorms. Folks pay out of pocket to local plow operators.

      @@flammableelmo4966 yeah by the time they come to New Hampshire they usually just a tropical storm. We’ve had a couple hurricanes but they are very few and far between. You don’t really need to prepare for those either though. You just stay inside when that happens.

      Not very common. What we lack in winters (snow, ice) we make up for in summers with triple digits. Also, I think only the worst drivers move here! We haven't "Driven Friendly" in 30 years, lol. Speaking for myself, I'll stay home in inclement weather not because I can't drive in ice or tornadoes, but, because of all the morons that cannot drive in it!
