Flawless! You must have played this tune back in your professional days, your confident command of the piece is clear. The use of what appears to be partial barre chords with open strings ringing out gives a pleasantly "dissonant" qualty. Once again, my wife heard me listening to your post and said "Well, that just makes me want to get moving!"
Xavier: You play this exceptionally well, Sir. :). I will make an analogy...I watch people like Tom Emmanuel and Richard Smith and I can NOT figure out what all the "fuss" is about those guys. They are routinely "heavy on the thumb", sloppy, etc. Your performance of this is perfect. It is very smooth ("legato"), articulately and melodical and "easy on the ears", the way it should be. The balance between the melody and accompaniment is perfect. Bravo. :). Antoine
Thank you Antoine, that's a great compliment. Tom Emmanuel and Richard Smith are excellent instrumentalists, and I have no intention of competing with them. Having said that, it is indeed sometimes difficult in this style of guitar to find the balance between bass and treble, melody and accompaniment, the thumb and the other fingers, while preserving the fluidity of your playing. When you succeed, it's a treat for both performer and listener. I'm really pleased to have achieved this on this version, and I hope you like it. Sincerely 😉😊
Encore superbe. Vous avez une rapidité et une précision du doigté vraiment impressionnante (cela se voit encore plus dans votre interprétation de "Windy and Warm" de J.D Loudermilk).
Thank you, that's kind of you, but every interpretation can be improved... I'm no exception to the rule... The main thing is to find pleasure in the regular work that this instrument requires...I hope it lasts...😉😊
Very nicely done on this Merle Travis classic!!👍🎸. Love this tune and love playing it also. Have you heard of Merles son Thom Bresh? I got to see the late Thom in concert twice and met him also. 🎸
I wish I could add a 'like' every time I come back to this! Wonderful playing!
Alas, you can only click once on "Like" 😉😊. thank you in any case for your attention and your comment.
