2025 Sacramento River Fishing

- Trout fishing has been awful so it's a great time to fish for something else. The Sacramento River seemed like a good idea so I went out there on two separate trips and compiled some highlights and lowlights from these trips. Don't laugh too much. Haha.

Heck yeah bro. Just subbed!
Appreciate the support!
cool . good fall
Did you hear the "uHH!" ? Everytime I see it, I start cracking up lol
Split tail fishing for a cool switch up. Thanks for the update on the sac. I fish the more north side of the sac river here in colusa.
You got the prime area then bro. All the fish head up there to spawn. I bet you'd be killing it up there then?
@ during the striper season i have had decent success. You can catch some in the off season too if you put in the time. My best striper this season was a 28 inch on a 2 inch tube looking for small mouth bass in november. During the actual run i was catching some stripers every trip. Alot of different species around here tho
@ when they get here to spawn it is pretty hot tho around this area
Let's hit up Butte Creek? I fish right by you
@@johndake294 You talking about Butte Creek in Colusa?
I knew you was mien when you said my mom want split tail 🤣
😭😭
@toekneetern LOL
Hi, new sub here. I learned a lot from watching your channel. No, I don't plan to go fishing anytime soon but I really enjoy listening how you explaining things, very informative. Looking forward to see more of your video, Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate you checking out the channel.
It was nice meeting you today bro
Thanks, it was nice meeting you as well! Hope to see you out on the water again soon.
Tf, You’re mien?! That’s so dope! My homie been killing it on the sac right now but the water coming up 10 ft so fishing will be slow again
Yeah Alex, I'm surprised you didnt know especially when my name is Lai. lol. I ran into you a long time ago at Howe Park and I was in your fishing video at that park.
@ oh damn 😂
Sturgeon fishing is closed!
@@bigjim435 according to the DFG regulations, it can be fished for catch and release only from 10/1-6/30 in this area that I am fishing at.
Right on baby! Nice catch! They definitely aren't as plentiful as they used to be.
I remember the days when people were catching buckets of them. I guess that's why we are here now, overfishing previously = lack of fish now.
I'm north of yuba, if you wanna hit the sac we got some great spots up here
I hear about your neck of the woods all the time. Its supposed to be good for all kinds of fishing too from what I hear. I get a little lazy and dont want to take the longer drive so I fish more local spots. But I will try fishing there eventually, at least once.
Man Bro that water is stupid high right now especially off the old river road
That sucks if the water gets too high, but the higher the water now, the better the striper fishing will be coming up.
Yo bro you need to make a sturgeon video
I plan to. I know it aint easy and takes time when fishing from the bank to get one hooked up, but I will try bro.
Try chicken liver with the Magic thread stripers go crazy 🎣🎣enjoy the Videos 🤙🏾
When I go after stripers, I usually use pile worms or bloodworms, but they are getting way to expensive.
I heard the best spot spilt tail is off of garden highway by the airport....ill be going there sometime to and be killing it🎣🎣🎣
I've been meaning to fish there myself. All the OGs be fishing there too :)
Lol fell down again. was this before the rain or during the rains because the water is hella chocolate. looks like ama have to go steelhead fishing instead
This was before the rain hit. It's tough to fish when it's chocolate!
Heck yea man.!
YeaH Buddy!
@@calloftheoutdoors8941 glad to be along your journey man .!
There’s spot around Pittsburg area but only accessible by boat. Lots of split tails.
I've seen some videos of people catching them in Montezuma Slough and I've read that they like waters with salinity so you are on point.
Are split tail good eating?
Split tail is good meat, but the bad part is that they have a lot of small fish bones.
The key is to cook a good meal is eliminate the small bones.
@FobbyThug To continue with what @SaoMoua-q5y said, these fish have a lot of tiny bones that can be made brittle by scoring the sides of the fish prior to cooking it above/around an open fire.
What is location of Sacramento River brother
🤦🏽♂️It’s in Sacramento bro 🤷🏽♂️
Do you have to pay to fish at Garcia Bend?
No
tey high low rig
I've seen some OGs fish it that way so I will definitely try that too.
can you use 2 rods on a river ? be careful.
Yes, When you pay for that rod stamp
sacramento river sucks now...
In another month, the river will be packed with striper fishermen.
@
hope so, 👍
Verona stack with spit tails limit out in 10 min every trip.
Geez! It's like that up there? Another spot for me to try out before I start focusing on stripers.
What do you use to catch them? I heard they are striper candy and what’s a good size split-tail for the lunker stripers?
@sofakingraw4149 the best bait is red worms. I dig them up after a nice rainy day and they're free
@@sofakingraw4149 I use worms from the backyard. these fish seem to not like the smell of redworms that you get from the bait store. As to using them for stripers, stripers love them! The bigger the bait the bigger the fish.
