We got all of these hipsters talking about "why is she wearing make up to a festival, u have to go casual, make up sucks, I wonder how this girl goes to mosh pits" if you don't wear make up to festivals or AT ALL why are you even watching this video?! Some ppl just honestly ruin creativity w. Their negative comments. Keep doing your thing. Great make up video
jennifer bibiano I clicked the video because she was pretty and I like her jewelry. I had no idea what this was. I guess it depends what festivals you go to, but the big 4-day one I went I was sleeping in a tent for 4 days and didn't even get a shower for 4 days. There wasn't any mirrors either, so damn right I didn't wear any makeup. That would be silly. :P Plus it was like 90 degrees outside and we were in the sun all day. I would have sweated it all off anyway!
The whole point of a festival or music event is to go and be comfortable and have fun. If wearing makeup and getting dolled up helps someone have fun then why tell them that it's not right?
duuude that thing you did on your lower lash line with the burnt orange is the coolest thing EVER i have never seen that before and now i am determined to go to a music festival so i can wear my eyeshadow like that. this might be one of my new favorite tutorials ever, you look fantastic!!
I love how you fully explain everything thank you makes it so much easier to recreate not as well as you but try too. You come up with the greatest combos always diffrent than everyone else that's why your my fav!!!!
I just realized people find the smallest things to hate on or complain in any video, when really there's nothing wrong with people's videos ,they just want to start drama
You're precision and light hand whilst doing your eyeshadow and even the rest of your face is so clean, skillful, and unique. I've never seen anyone do clean-cut eyeshadow looks as well as you do. You got skill girl. Please make this as a career, you're too good at it to not get paid for it. And I think this look is so creative and a gorgeous especially on you. I would so re-create (or at least attempt to) and deff do a more out there lipstick! xD
Holy sh*t SO MUCH HATE IN THE COMMENT SECTION?! This girl is absolutely GORGEOUS and Im so jelly! 10/10 would definitely try out this look and accessories are beautiful! Stop hating!!
I loved it when your hair was this color Allison! I remember watching this when you first put it up and now I'm rewatching it and still in-love with this look!
For anyone saying that her headband is cultural approbation of indian culture, it could easily pass for a Celtic head chain, which is based of of the traditional Celtic circlets that were worn during weddings in Irish culture (which is mostly white, is it not?) Another argument that could be made for wearing stickered bhindis (if this is true): if the non traditional bhindis are modernly worn in India for beauty enhancement, how is putting on bhindi-esque makeup necessarily cultural approbation when it has no significance outside of cosmetic appeal (this is speaking only for stickered, modern bhindis, and if the information I found was true)? Just throwing out some ideas before everyone starts grabbing pitchforks...
Personally, I don't see it any different than people wearing rosaries to be "gothy" like they were doing a few years back, and I didn't see anyone flipping shit over that. If this certain type of bhindi doesn't have any sort of higher meaning other than beauty, I see nothing wrong with it. Just because food is a part of culture too, it doesn't mean you can't eat it and enjoy it just because you aren't a part of that culture...
brittsNAY There is a difference between cultural diffusion and wearing something of another culture as a fashion statement. You are not Indian/ Sri Lankan. You wouldn't understand because its something we have grown up with. You wouldn't see it offending because you aren't from that culture. So don't try to talk of a culture you are not from.
You're right, I don't know what it's exactly like for you, but I know what it's like to have things that actually have meaning in my religion being used as a trend. But I've come to except the fact that trends in fashion will dig into every corner of world (both modernly and historically) to find new inspiration. And even though I was originally irritated over it, as long as people aren't wearing things or using things that are genuine religious artifacts, or wearing or using thing deliberately meant to make fun of or bash my religion, I don't see the harm. I see nothing wrong finding inspiration in beauty outside of your own culture, no matter who you are. But that's just me. If you want to be offended by it, feel free to be.
brittsNAY I totally agree with you. Some people just want to be offended by everything. I always thought it would be beautiful if all humans could appreciate and partake in different cultures even if they weren't born into it.
First video I've ever watched from your channel and LOVED it! Without makeup you look like Lily Rabe from AHS. Anywhoo, great tutorial loved the bling you were wearing as well, keep on keeping on. :)
OMG this is the first video of yours that I've ever seen and you are soo beautiful I love everything about you your hair, makeup, jewelry your just perfect! I subscribed:)
This is literally such a beautiful look and you suit it, seriously stunning! also does anyone know what mascara she used for the top lashes? I really love the thick effect.
Adore this look, think I might use the same technique but with neon colours and glitter, just a personal preference. You look lovely and I hope you have an amazing time at all your festivals xxx
Probably one of my favorite tutorials I've evr seen! The bottom lash line with that burnt orange is STUNNING!!! And so original! So glad I ran across your channel a while back! Love every video I've seen so far! Keep up the GREAT work! :)
I love this look! I'm hoping to go to some music festivals this summer and am definitely going to try something similar to this! That head chain is perfect! :)
its funny how in the picture thing before click on the video it looks way more shady and more smokey and when you click on the video its like a different makeup look lol
onthewingsofmaybe (sorry this comment isn't directed at you, really it's for that whole string of comments, i'm just bad at youtube and have no idea how to work this! tried to include others but it didn't work...) I think if someone believes you are insulting their culture it is their right to think so and the best thing to do is apologize and point out (nicely) that you didn't mean to insult it at all, and that you'll try not to do it again. Best not to throw a bit of casual racism in there... But having said that I was a bit insulted when people were saying white people have no culture. I'm Irish (and pale as milk) but I'm proud of my culture, the beautiful Celtic art and legends. I speak my language (not fluently but I'm working on it) and yes I'm well aware I'm privileged, but I would like it if my culture was respected, as I respect yours.
Thanks for the response! I completely understand what you're saying and I want to make it clear that I was not trying to offend you or anyone else who is in touch with their culture. When I said white people, I was talking about white Americans who have, over generations of being in the U.S., lost touch with their European roots. I have a friend who is Greek and extremely involved/knowledgeable about her culture and takes a lot of pride in it. But on the other hand, I have white friends who don't know anything about where they are from and couldn't care less. I was purely speaking about the latter. I hope this cleared some things up, and I really am sorry if I offended you.
so i just wanted to ask something in all honesty. My family has a strong scottish history, but that was more than a few generations ago. At least the last four generations have been born and raised in America. Now I personally read up on our old clan and what not, but don't you think it's more insulting for someone in my situation to say 'oh yeah I'm scottish and i wear kilts'? I mean that's just a fake wannabe poser who wants attention. So while I read the traditions, it would be childish of me to pretend I'm part of that culture. And wether or not you like it, American is its own culture. (even if it may not be a fantastic one) Anywho for onthewingsofmaybe comments earlier, I agree about some people wearing other culture's artifacts ignorantly (that is wearing it not even realizing what it means or which culture it's from) however, head jewelry itself can't be claimed by a culture or religion. There can be specific types of head pieces that are claimed like 'Hey its Mina' was talking about. But you cant just put somebody down because they're wearing something that distantly resembles it. that's like hating someone for wearing a fake crown because it might insult the queen of england
ReadySet Book i'm not quite sure i'm following correctly, but about being a 'poser', I have lived in Ireland my whole life, as has my father, and his father before him, and his father before him. I'm not in your position where many generations since my family have lived here, we still are. and O'Brien (my surname) means Son of Brian Boru, the last Rí (like the most important king, we could have more than one at a time) of Ireland. I speak our language. So I do apologize if I have misunderstood, but who exactly are you calling a poser? And I never claimed Americans have no culture, I didn't interfere with the topic because I don't know anything about it, so shouldn't try and pretend I do by claiming anything about that.
No no I'm not calling you a poser! Lol. I'm saying I would be a poser if I claimed my ancestors culture. Hence why america is 'losing' the original cultures. or rather mushing them all into one. I should've tagged onthewingsofmaybe in that first part. What i said was a response to "When I said white people, I was talking about white Americans who have, over generations of being in the U.S., lost touch with their European roots."
I just wasted 15 minutes of my precious time reading fights in the comments of this video. Wonderful makeup look, there is nothing wrong with what you did here

so i just wanted to ask something in all honesty. My family has a strong scottish history, but that was more than a few generations ago. At least the last four generations have been born and raised in America. Anywho for onthewingsofmaybe comments earlier, I agree about some people wearing other culture's artifacts ignorantly (that is wearing it not even realizing what it means or which culture it's from) however, head jewelry itself can't be claimed by a culture or religion. There can be specific types of head pieces that are claimed like 'Hey its Mina' was talking about. But you cant just put somebody down because they're wearing something that distantly resembles it. that's like hating someone for wearing a fake crown because it might insult the queen of england

you are so beautiful! with and without make upp!
