I love how Jasmine has a lion instead of a tiger in the reimagined version! Such a cute detail, plus the lion looks like Simba!
just fyi the artist is _let there be doodles_ on Tumblr, not “TT”

When Africa is mentioned like it's a whole country.. 🙃
like soo anoying
🤫 don't tell them we look different from each other
They'll get confused
Because for some reason people think every country in Africa is one culture with one type of people like it isn’t as diverse as every other continent.
@@dreamiinotdream730 but it's obviously not true they're tons of different cultures and languages just in each country in Africa. The whole continent is literally the continent with the highest amount of different languages and cultures. Like there is soo much diversity in Africa. Most people are just ignorant and pretty dumb 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
At least Africa is used 😂 we are NEVER mentioned as culture
The Aurora one reminds me of esmeralda from the hunchback of note dame
how?

"Princess from India rather than the bottom of the sea".
Me who knows about the Indian Ocean and that the bottom of the sea can also be anywhere in the world: ☝️😦 ☝️😐
Yeah that was really poorly phrased
You know the Indian Ocean stretches from India to Africa and Australia right?
And the story isn't just at the bottom of the sea-Its a danish story
tru but i doubt the bottom of the sea and india would share a culture.. or almost anything really
@@faruzao Actually they have confirmed that The Little Mermaid is placed in the Mediterranean Sea in Italy

@@dreamiinotdream730 Same
Hearing that it’s from a Tumblr artist, I’m honestly not surprised.
Emma, do you even know what a Disney princess is?
That snow White is beautiful, but keep in mind Spain is in Europe. The German version fits way better in historical accuracy than the stereotypical Spanish one, but she's beautiful anyway!
Also, not all Spaniards are heavily tanned. Fair skin is also common, and also blond and light brown hair
Frr that "Spanish" snow white looks more mexican, cuban or colombian, not spanish in the slightest
True. Most Spainards were pale in skin, and had black/blonde hair. People don't know this fact. They assume they're dark skinned.
Yeah Spaniards were white. Mexican, cuba, columbia,Peru, look more like the. Native Americans group for example, Aztec
And not everyone has fair skin, there are dark skin people that has blonde hair and light blue eyes
@@thehomelesshebrewsno they're also darkskin Spain people they everywhere 😂
yea, im not racist in any way, but how offensive would it be if you change the prinsess from the frog movie to a white girl ? yea
Im sorry but her being black in a part of her story, she was a black girl in the white America of 1920s
it's really not that deep
I think she did
Anna looks like someone from the water tribe
The Indian Ariel looks good. They should add new characters instead of changing existing ones
So simba is secretly Jasmine's pet in africa
AFRICAN JASMINE IS JUST STUNNING
they didn't mention pocahontas, mulan, or tiana... hmm, I wonder why?
They did !
@@tsutsume_ not in this video.
Cause no one can be white ...instead of all races equal it white go away
So they just turned them into stereotypes. I'm from Spain and I can assure you I've never seen anyone dress like that irl.
Also she's "Snow white". Isn't the whole point that she's white as snow? Lol. Not all Spanish people are so tan.
Para mi pocos españoles se ven así de morenos….
Parece más bien gitana, me recuerda a ese escándalo que hubo con un dibujo del Gato Con Botas como un ser humano.
Right? 🤷♀️
@@angyliv8040Spainards are not this dark. They had pale skin and dark hair, some even had blonde hair.
Now tiana to white :))
That's white washing. Commonly used to promote racism.
As a Spanish person, no one dresses like that here at all, it’s usually either a costume or a very specific dancing/singing dress
It’s not used for royalty or as a regular outfit;-;
Edit: how is this still getting replies-
What about 100 to 200 years ago? It's not like the movie is set in this century anyway.
@@nialasingsing1303 it was still a special dress for a tradicional dance so it wasn’t common in people
Plus the fact that that dress is specific from a province
but snow white sings pike half the movie so I guess it makes sense
I searched up how peasants looks like in the 16th century in Spain and they do dress like the "snow white" we see right now. Also, how can you not tell that Snow whites time period was set centuries ago, this movie even came around 80 years ago why would it be set during our times?
My roots are in Mexico, and I know it’s very different from Spain, but we also have dresses for dancing that people always put Mexican characters/redesigns/whatever in. I think if it fits the character and the time period, then it’s okay, in my personal experience and opinion. I don’t know if there’s a different meaning for your dresses though
ok but like isn't this like skin washing or do I live under a rock
Depends on the intent I think. White washing is often used so directors can ignore actors of color. While turning a white character into a minority is almost exclusively used to get woke points in the media rather than doing anything real to help minoritys. In this case the artist was reimagining the concepts which dosnt nessesitate the covering up of previous characters. Sorta like how a child might imagen oneself in the shoes of their favorite hero
No
@@lizard8749 tysm, I'll keep that in mind
Yes, it is. They are just DARK WASHING EVERYTHING now..
@@lizard8749What they are doing is DARK WASHING EVERYTHING. Do some history research, and you will see how they are CHANGING the characters to FIT THEIR AGENDA. Snow White was GERMAN...Aurora was FRENCH....Jasmine was ARABIC...etc...people are getting so butt hurt that these CHARACTERS were not DARK SKINNED, when the fact is, most of them would not have been so dark. It's changing the characters NOT to a more HISTORICALLY ACCURATE one, but rather to one that makes people FEEL BETTER...🤦♀️
how about a vid on how they would really look coming from periods they originated from, even if it comes down to the orgin of the race the area takes place in 🗿 authenticity
Race isn’t a real thing you mean ethnicity.
@@Pradapussy Authenticity bc it’s true to the origins, land and character plus clothes have nothing to do with race and most of the clothing aren’t from the times they are based in.
@@Pradapussy I would just like to see something historically accurate to it’s best “extent” even if not 100% accurate, it would be amazing to see them as if it were the real deal.
Some of the tales pop up in many cultures. So its difficult to do authenticity. The oldest known version of Cinderella is from China.
@@Moonlitwatersofaqua Didn’t know that!! thats so interesting 😯 I wonder how much the story differs going back to where it started

Idk about the others but the spanish one is just so "LOOK AT ME! IM A STEREOTYPE!" ._.
As well is the original German one...?? Is that how you think German people look?? Literally all Disney is is sterotypes
@@hkgehts9061 I don’t think Snow White looks like anything like a German stereotype… she’s not blond with blue eyes and it’s not wearing traditional german clothes.
She was drawn like a 30’s movie star, because it was the 30’s and they wanted to make her appealing to the audience.
@@Fernandanatac you're wrong, it is traditional German clothing from the middle ages... Well, extremely exaggerated anyway. And that sterotype of Germans wasn't there until after world war two, Germans are traditionally known for dark hair and dark eyes with light skin. You know nothing

Snow White is too dark for the average Spanish girl.
Jasmine is amazing and my most favorite out of all these.
So..they black-washed them..?
it's really not that deep.. black washing is a term used commonly by racists
Disney:WRİTE THAT DOWN FOR LİVE-ACTİON
they will look like that when disney does a remake of the movies
You know, Ariel would have darker skin than her sisters, considering how often she flits to the surface. Surely she's gotten a tan somewhere there!
Actually, she would have been Carribean, BUT consider who her dad is, he screwed around with A LOT of HUE-man women. So it would have made more sense if ALL his daughters looked different. He is a PAGAN IDOL who supposedly mated with other HUE-mans.
But those stories are based on lore from specific countries. Making them in different countries than original is appropriating the culture.
Isn’t this black washing with all the human characters
Yep.
I remember that somone told me that Ariel was from denmark i think, i dont know, it was many years ago
I wanna see them draw Tiana as white and then see how chill people are with this then
no one would care because they aren’t saying it’s better they are just showing what she would look like if she was from let’s say the uk if they made tiana white just for the hell of it and were doing it to try and make her look better or not changing anything about her design but her skin that would be a problem
Can you do more of these they're good?
Yes, it's cool to see these characters reimagined with different ethnicities. At least this artist is being clear about it rather than pretending they're not but doing it anyways with no rhyme or reason to realistic demographics.
Africa is not a country, it's a continent.
Amazing short video 👌

Merida from Brave as Swedish. That’s what I wanna see. It’d be a bit boring but I really wanna see that. I’m Swedish and I only ever see Sweden characters portrayed in a good way unless it’s a Swedish kid’s movie. I know I’m white and this sounds entitled given how few non white characters we have in media but I still wanna see a Swedish character that isn’t a total weirdo.
You can’t call the Spain Snow White Snow White anymore 💀
My thoughts exactly 😂
Shes now called spain toasted
would they call her rose red? there's a version of the story called that
As a spaniard I don’t feel represented by this Snow White.
The thing is, Spanish people are just as white as Germans.
Do ever imagine if they dared to that not only to white princesses!? (Except Jasmine of course)
Jasmine is my fav, followed by aurora. They look so good!!!😍
Im in LOVE with all of these
Isn’t Ariel from the Atlantic Ocean?- Atlantis… her prince from Finland?… no?… ok.
Aries is Dannish
Disney's Ariel is from Greece (she is the granddaughter of Ancient Greek god Poseidon). Atlantica is in the Mediterranean Sea. Eric is from Italy (which is right next to Greece). The original Little Mermaid tale takes place in Denmark, though.
@@fairloke why does Eric have a Norwegian (Norse) name if he's Italian?
@@Ri57490 Ariel's name is not Greek either (Disney being inconsistent when it comes to properly researching stuff). But the creators of the movie did establish that they were inspired by northen Mediterranean climate as well as architecture. They recently confirmed that Eric's kingdom is in north Italy.
Africa is not a country it is a continent 😡, why can't people be more specific with African countries like they are with American States

Ariel is actually not just from the bottom of the sea, cause that sea lays in Denmark rather then any other country, as the writer is from Denmark as well.

Anna looks Inuit!! This is so interesting. :D
I like how they reimagined Anna as an indigenous princess, Disney needs more of indigenous people/princess other than Pocahontas, which her story was told inaccurately.
It's probably because almost all of these are adaptations from famous fairy tales, that were written by two European brothers some centuries ago. Every country has its own fairy tales that could be used to make a movie, but the European stories are known by almost every part of the world, while others are just known in that one county, lol
